ITunes doesn't recognize my updated iPod

Using iTunes 5.0.1 I upgraded my iPod software to 1.2 for my color iPod. I still get the message that I cannot use purchased music because my software is too old. On the iPod the version says it is 1.2. I tried repairing permissions but it didn't help. I tried reinstalling iTunes 5.0 and that didn't work either. Any suggestions?

This may sound lame but try updating your Windows updates and also update your iTunes. I may be wrong but iTunes doesnt really have a driver. Does your computer recognize something is plugged in when you plug the iPod in? If your computer doesnt recoginze youriPod then try plugging it into a different USB, perferable the ones in the back of the computer.
If that doesnt work you need to go to Control Panel and find your way to Device Manager and right click on the USB one and click look for updates.

I suspect an error with the connection type 'cause at work i receive this kind of problem and at home not.
I solved the problem with the ipod updater yesterday, at home i successfully updated it but today i get a new error message while contacting itunes server:
I cannot process the request, an unknown error occurred on itunes server (error type -206)!
Do you know why?may it depend by the Office server?

ITunes doesn't recognize iPod since last software update

I updated to iTunes 5.0.1 & iPod 2005-09-23 updater & now when I plug in the iPod w/ USB to my PowerBook G4 running 10.4.2, iTunes doesn't recognize it-- no icon in bottom-right grey area, nor left-hand column-- and the iPod says "Do not disconnect." I have the EXACT same problem. Support line suggeste that the iPod updater must have newer software than the iTunes, so I should go to Apple & download the iTunes update. Well, I did, and it didn't do a @#%ing thing to help. I'm NEW to mac & I'm P.O.'ed!!! (paid significantly extra money for iBook compared to Dell, etc since it's supposedly so easy & user-friendly... ITunes doesn't recognize either of my iPods

I downloaded the latest update recently and since then iTunes doesn't recognize either of my two iPod touches (4th gen), even though the computer does. My iPad (1st gen) is still recognized normally. I tried uninstalling iTunes and reinstalling it several times, and that didn't work. The iPods are recognized by iTunes on other computers. The computer in question runs windows 8.1, if that makes a difference. From the look of these forums it looks like I'm not the only one who has this problem. Please help.

I updated my iphone to iOS 5 last week realized that when I connect it to my computer itunes doesn't recognize the phone now. i've tried restarting both the phone and my macbook. I tried reinstalling itunes. I can't restore the iphone because I cannot get the phone connected to itunes. Any ideas?

Tried restoring iPod, never finished, now iTunes doesn't recognize iPod

i tried to restore my iPod, but then my computer froze midway. Now when i try to plug the iPod into my computer, my iTunes doesn't recognize it and whenever i try to use the updater, it just keeps saying 'Ipod Service Error'. Now i can't put my songs into my iPod and the battery icon/'Do Not Disconnect' logo is stuck in this really traditional fashion, not like the normal font/picture. Does anybody know what i can do?

My iPod Classic 160 is in disc mode and won't turn off, itunes doesn't recognize it - ¿how can I make it work again?

My iPod Classic 160 is in disc mode. I responds to nothing. iTunes doesn't recognize it. It doesn't sync. I've tried to restore and got error 1429. Now it just stays in disc mode and won't turn off. I'm keeping it connected to the charger so it doesn't go dead. Is there anything I can do to resurrect my pod?

To get out of disk mode do a iPod Hard Reset.
Toggle the Hold switch till you dont see the red mark.
Press Menu and Center buttons simultaneously for about 10 secs till the Apple logo comes ON then release the buttons
Select your preferred language.

Iphone 4S block during update 6.1.3 and iTunes doesn't recognize my phone

Hi. During update on iphone 4S, I had an error message from itunes. It said that update wasn't possible. And now Iphone block on the screen to connect to iTunes. But iTunes doesn't recognize iPhone. There may be third-party software that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting a TcpWindowSize entry into your registry. Your default packet size being set incorrectly can cause these errors. Verify that access to ports 80 and 443 are allowed on your network.
Verify that communication to albert.apple.com or photos.apple.com is not blocked by a firewall, or other Internet security setting.

Restore your device while connected to a different network.

ITunes doesn't recognize IPod Nano 7th Generation

ITunes doesn't recognize my IPod Nano 7th Generation. I get a message saying "An IPod has been detected but could not be identified properly". My Windows 7 computer shows the IPod Nano as a removable drive until I launch ITunes at which point it disappears from the list of removable drives. I even disabled my security software (Norton 360 but not Spybot S & D) and it didn't solve the problem. Any suggestions..............Thanks

My itunes doesn't recognize my ipod touch because I've never connected it before and it is disabled, it won't let me restore it, it says to enter a passcode in order to connect and I can't because it is disabled

My ipod touch is disabled and it says to connect to itunes to restore. I have never added the ipod to my devices on my itunes so when I connect it says that itunes doesn't recognize the device. I then put it in recovery mode and connected it to itunes and I clicked restore and it says that itunes can't connect until I put in the passcode, but I can't put in a passcode because it is disabled!!! I don't know how to fix it and it is only a month old, should I take it back?

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
