ITunes doesn't see iPhoto pictures

I have a new 80GB iPod that I am trying to put pictures onto. In iTunes under the Photo tab, I click sync photos from iPhoto but it says there are no photos in my iPhoto library. I am able to upload photos if I select a folder but not if I select the iPhoto option in the pull down menu. I am running iPhoto 4.0.3 and iTunes 7.0.2. How can I get my iPhoto library on to my iPod? Thanks.

I figured this out on my own and want to share the answer in case any one else has the same problem. All I did was the first R of the 5Rs - Reset. After I did this, iTunes saw iPhoto and I was able to sync. I didn't think of this since my iPod was new out-of-the-box.

  • ITunes doesn't "see" iPhoto and can't sync photos, albums or events.

When I connect my iPod Video 30Gb, iTunes launches like a champ.
Clicking on the Photo tab within the iPod setting screen displays a dimmed reference to iPhoto.
Enabling this option fails to display any of the 300+ events nor any photos.
In fact, the screen says at the bottom "Coping photos from iPhoto requires iPhoto 4.0.3 or later.
    I have:
    iPhoto 7.0.2 (341) (part of iLife '08)
    iTunes 7.4.2 (4)
    Mac 10.4.10
I've already rebuilt the albumdata.xml file inside the iPhoto package. No luck.
I have iPhoto Library Manager (great tool, btw) and have:
checked permissions - all are read & write even though the iPhoto Library is on a permissions free drive.
created a new Library - no change
It is as if iTunes thinks I have an old copy of iPhoto. Before I reinstall iPhoto and/or iTunes .... thoughts?

I was having a similar problem after updating to iLife '08 and Leopard. No matter what I did in iPhoto (creating new albums or deleting old ones), iTunes always showed my old iPhoto album list and all were empty. I finally deleted albumdata.xml and restarted iPhoto and iTunes and violå, iTunes suddenly showed the correct (current) iPhoto album list.

  • HT4623 The iOS 7.0.6 update failed, my iPhone 5S disappeared from iTunes and now is displaying the picture: iTunes and a USB plug. Turning it Off and On didn't fix it. iTunes doesn't see it. Any suggestions?

The iOS 7.0.6 update failed, my iPhone 5S disappeared from iTunes and now is displaying a picture iTunes logo and a USB plug and black backgraound. Turning it Off and On didn't fix it. iTunes doesn't see it. Any suggestions?

    Thanks, Lawrence.
I've tried http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 and other suggestions first, which turned out unrelated.
I've finally fixed the issue by plugging the cable in the USB 3 ports in the back of PC instead of the ports in the front, the iTunes saw the phohe and the recovery started automatically.
In the hindsight, I realized that the either the required prerequisite iTunes 11.1.5.5 update installed a USB driver incompatible with my PC's front side USB ports that I always used for my iPhone syncing prior or it was always
incompatible, but worked in all modes except the recovery.

  • Itunes doesn't see my iphone 5

Just got a new phone, but when I plug it into my MacBook Pro iTunes doesn't see it as a device. iPhoto launches, so it is not invisible. It's just iTunes that won't wake up.
    Help!

What version Itunes and mac software are you using?  iphone 5 needs certain requirements
Does it read when you manually open itunes?
Itunes also has settings for it to open when your device is connected, and seeing that its new, you have to resync it.

  • ITunes doesn't see my apple tv

I've had this issue before and reinstalling iTunes always solved it... this time... not. I've done all the troubleshooting steps on the support page, still nothing. My apple tv is working fine, I can view movie trailers, etc., but the iTunes doesn't see it. In Preferences, I've selected "look for apple tv's", but there's nothing in the panel. I'm pulling my hair out. Can anyone assist? All my network connections are fine, I can access the iTunes store from iTunes, it's all apparently good, except that it can't see the apple tv.
Please help save my sanity. :-|
    Thanks in advance!

I had the same problems and i had to spend a couple days to (sort of) fix the problem.
At home i was using a netgear wireless router with WPA2-AES encryption enabled. The apple TV was after the first installation able to connect to the internet. From my Home LAN it was not possible to connect to the apple TV (try to ping the device). When i disabled WPA2, switched to a 64 bit WEP ecncryption (less safer then WPA) and turned on filesharing and added iPhoto and iTunes in the leopard firewall the apple TV device appeared in iTunes. It seems that the Macs have problems to see each other when WPA encryption is enabled. I noticed that with WPA enabled i could not connect (ping) to other PC's in my network. I hope this will help.

  • Migration Assistant problem? : New iMac's iTunes doesn't see the catalog or playlist of my old Mac's songs on an external drive

    So I just migrated from a 10.7.5 iMac 27" from 2009 to 10.9.4 on a 2013 27" iMac with Fusion Drive.
I don't use Time Machine. There are no backups involved here.
Used Ethernet. Only took 20 hours... (BTW, it stayed on "less than 1 minute left" for like 12 hours but luckily I was away and just left it going in hopes it would work... and it did!)
Anyway, back on my OLD iMac, I kept all of my songs on an external drive because my internal drive was too small. So iTunes looked at that drive for the music it was playing. I turned that drive off, even disconnected it, during the migration process because I thought it was confusing it during the first attempt which took 10 hours and nothing happened.
So now it worked, finally. On my new iMac, running Mavericks, I now have two user accounts... the one that was set up when I started the computer the first time, and the new one that transferred over via Migration Assistant. No problem. I can live with that. The only thing is, I would still think the old XML files and library stuff would migrate over... but iTunes doesn't see it. When I open up iTunes, in *either* account, iTunes behaves as if it's brand new. Repeat: the old and new account on the new iMac, both, do not see an old iTunes library which IS on the old iMac. Only the music is on the external drive from what I understand.
I've done this before so I know it's possible. I remember upgrading a long time ago and got iTunes to see my old library... even though some of the music was no longer there. It just puts "!" marks wherever there is no link. I was hoping that that's what I would find when I launched iTunes, but no luck. Even connecting the old hard drive to the new Mac (via USB) doesn't make iTunes all of a sudden "see" the old library. That data doesn't seem to be there. It didn't transfer over. Did it not transfer over because the songs weren't on the internal volume? Should I have left my external hard drive on?
So.... now that I've spent almost 3 days total trying to get this to work, and everything is running... I don't want to have to start over in order to get iTunes to work.  Is there a way I can just drag over some XML files or something from the old computer? I don't want to lose all of the ratings and personal notes and everything.
I should add also that I have like only four songs I've ever actually bought through iTunes. I'm still a bit old fashioned and buy CDs and rip them to Apple Lossless. So I hope it's not an authorization / reauthorization issue because I have like 1400 albums ripped.
Thanks in advance for any help.
    --Jeff

iTunes does not use the .xml it uses the .itl
If you are sure your old library file migrated across (does the file size and modification dates suggest it has?) start iTunes while holding down the option/alt key and guide it to the .itl file to get it to use that one.

  • ITunes doesn't see PSE7 images

I had Photoshop Elements 8 installed, and iTunes could see those photos just fine. But then my trial expired, so I had to uninstall and use PSE7. The problem is that iTunes no longer sees my PSE7 catalog and instead sees the PSE8 catalog as it was before it was uninstalled. I managed to track down where iTunes apparantly copied the PSE8 catalog and deleted it, but now iTunes doesn't see any PSE catalogs at all.
Of course there is the option to sync with individual folders, but I'd rather not do that since PSE keeps them nice and organized, and iPod Touch doesn't show the folders within subfolders of the selected folder for photo syncing. So, how can I get iTunes to pick up my PSE7 catalog again?

I had something similar (if not the same) happen. I was going to transfer some new shows from iTunes on my laptop into my iPod. The msg I get from iTunes: "iTunes cannot read the contents of the iPod "(iPod'S name)". Use the iPod Software Updater application to restore the iPod to factory settings." The best part....my iPod's empty! I don't know what happened but I tried to connect it to my work PC and it read the same. I can reload my iPod with songs/shows. That's not an issue BUT I'd like to know what may have caused this and how do I know it won't happen again?

  • Frozen in "Do Not Disconnect" iTunes doesn't see iPod

I have never had one bit of trouble with my iPod until today. I plugged it in, the Do Not Disconnect comes up, the clock is frozen, no charging happening and iTunes doesn't see the iPod. I tried the "restart" and nothing is working. What do I do?
I haven't upgraded to iTunes 8.1 yet, would that help?
    HELP!

OK, so I tried the Reset again. Still didn't work. THEN I saw this:
    Tip:
+If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.+
Tried it again and now it's all better.

  • ITunes doesn't "see" my iPod Touch but Windows 7 does. What can I do?

Windows 7 using "MTP USB Device" driver so it recognizes that it's an Apple iPod but iTunes doesn't see it. I have spent the entire day following the "install/ininstall/start AMDS/stop AMDS" instructions ad nauseum...still no love. Frustration maxed out!

    Did you try here:

    Did you do this:

  • Itunes doesn't see my devices

I've recently plugged (USB cable) my ipod and my iphone in to the mac book pro that they are always plugged into for syncing and backing up via iTunes. However, now iTunes doesn't see these devices, nor any other devices I plug in.
    Anyone had this problem?

Try the suggestions in this support document:

  • It appears since my Windows PC McAfee AV subscription expired my PC's iTunes doesn't see my two Apple TV2's.  My computer has internet connection thru router and my ATV has internet connection thru same router.  My iPad can see the ATV but it can't see iT

My Windows PC iTunes doesn't see my two Apple TV2's (in the speaker button in lower right of iTunes), I believe this problem began when my PC's McAfee AV subscription expired.  My computer has internet connection thru router and my ATVs have internet connection thru same router so it's not a networking issue.  My iPad can see the ATVs but it can't see iTunes so the problem appears to be PC/iTunes related.  I turned the PC's firewall off but no joy.  I uninstalled the expired McAfee and still no joy.  Reboot = no joy.  Glass of scotch = no joy.  Need help!!

Wanted to add that I turned on Home Sharing w/the same account in iTunes and ATVs.  And I've successfully streamed music/photos to my ATVs for over a year.

  • ITunes doesn't see podcasts it has previously downloaded

    Hi,
I use iTunes to download podcasts as mp3 files. I had to uninstall iTunes and install the latest version. All went well, but now iTunes doesn't see the mp3 files previously downloaded. Is there a way I can tell it to treat those mp3 files as podcasts it had downloaded?
    Many thanks, Dan

I am having trouble getting a m4a podcast to download in my podcast feed also. I tried unsubscribing and subscribing again but that didn't help. I am using feedburner with smartcast enabled for all rich media files, so that shouldn't be a factor.
This is the first time I have tried posting an enhanced podcast within my feed, however. This is my feed:
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/speedofcreativity/podcasts
I read online that naming fileswith the m4b extension is more compatible, but that didn't work. I can use the direct link and in QuickTime choose file - open URL and it works. The feed is also updated and includes the latest post with this enclosure. So for some reason there is a problem with iTunes recognizing it. Very frustrating.
    Any suggestions anyone? Thanks

  • ITunes doesn't see my iPhone anymore after upgrading

After upgrading to 10.3.1.55, when I plug my iPhone into the PC, iTunes hangs up for a while and then fails with an error E8000065. After it iTunes doesn't see my iPhone. Previously all worked flawlessly. What am I doing wrong?

Yes, Allan, that's what I meant I've read almost all FAQs about that problem and executed all instructions step by step. No luck... All drivers & services are running Ok, the System log is free of errors, everything is looking fine... but doesn't work

  • ITunes doesn't see iPods

starting last nite my iTunes doesn't see either iPod that always appeared when plugged in. I changed my connecting wire without any better results.

Bentley, try downloading and re-installing iTunes. I had a similar problem on my Macbook - I could see my iPod in the Finder but iTunes couldn't see it. I re-installed iTunes and voila, it was there.
