Itunes doesn't stop

It's been happening many times now that when I quit Itunes (even with a forced quit) it immediately starts again and again. I cannot even turn off my mac since Itunes does not allow this.
So I have to switch off my Imac pressing power botton for some second. After restart Itunes seems to be working nice but after some day it happens again.
There is no application open when it happens.

Try removing any 3rd-party iTunes plug-ins or add-ons as described here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TA22611

How can I make sure iTunes doesn't stop updating my podcasts

OK I'm subscribed to multiple podcasts, but I don't always get a chance to listen to them so some of them will stop updating and it says something like "iTunes has stopped updating this podcast because you haven't listened to any episodes lately".
How can I make sure it doesn't do that? When I do get to listen to my podcasts, I would really like it if they weren't 3 weeks old.

someone made a script that fixes this. It seems to work for me. If you want it to do it automatically just make an iCal even for every 3 days or something that runs this script.

Please help. iTunes keeps on launching for no reason.

I think someone else raised this issue today. They had an iTunes widget on their dashboard, and deactivating the widget stopped it from opening iTunes.

Since itunes 2.0.4 has been downloaded. My ipod doesn't synchronize properly/ at all.The LED screen shows "copy 1 or 2 from 101" and it will remain like that. It looks like sync but there's nothing to happen. It doesn't stop by it self. How to solve?

I have exactly the same issues with my new 80G iPOD. I have found that when connecting to my PC, the iPOD does not start iTUNES 7. This can be resolved by stopping the iPOD Service in Computer Management, connecting the iPOD and then starting it again. Seems like a stupid long-winded way to do things, but at least you can get some stuff on to your iPOD.
As far as using Restore goes - I just get the restoring iPOD message you described, which it blatantly isn't :((

Song preview button in iTunes 9 doesn't stop songs?

Upgraded to iTunes 9 last week when it was released, and sine then the preview (play) buttons next to songs in the Store have been able to play the standard preview of the song, but they do not stop the preview when I click them again. The image does change to a "stop" button, but the song doesn't stop unless I press the main "pause" button in the top-left or click another song to preview.
Anyone else having this issue/found a solution?

That's all I keep hearing- same when I had an error 23 brick my iPhone last week. Apparently, they hadn't heard of the issue yet it is plastered all over the net.
Noticed this issue myself. Hopefully a small fix for the next release. I think they always have to rush the first release out for the specific date set (for the Apple show). I remember iTunes 8 had the Shuffle button not working on albums in its first version till the update.

I just installed update version 11.1.4.62. Now Itunes doesn't recognize my iphone or ipad. My wife just installed the same version with the same result. The problem is clearly a problem with itunes. What's wrong with itunes?

I was running the previous version of itunes and it worked perfectly. I just installed the latest version of itunes (version 11.1.4.62) and restarted the PC and now itunes doesn't recognize my iphone or my ipad. I'm running Windows 8.1 on my pc. I tried diagnostics to no avail. The diagnostic didn't recognize either device. As the directions advised, I closed itunes, disconnected the devices and stopped and restarted the apple mobile device service, That didn't work either. My wife, who also has Windows 8.1, has the same problem. She installed the new version and it doesn't recognize her devices.
Until now, itunes has been totally reliable. I am convinced the problem is with itunes. Where do I go from here?

I resolved the issue by doing the following:
1. Uninstall iTunes and every Apple application (device support and such).
2. Uninstall bonjour.
3. Reboot.
4. Go to Apple and install iTunes.
It worked. When I opened iTunes (after reinstalling) it recognized all my devices, music and video.

ITunes ignores the "stop time" for music videos since 10.6.7 osx update. Tried with iTunes 10.2.1, 10.2.2, 10.3. Only way to make it work is to back out to 10.6.6 (time consuming). Has nobody else noticed this?

Only a problem with music videos. Normal audio tracks work fine. Introduced with 10.6.7. 10.6.8 failed to fix it.
Set the "stop time" of a music video to 10 seconds shorter than the full length and iTunes will still play it to the end. Very annoying, especially if there's a bunch of noise at the end of a song.

More info: After I upgraded to 10.6.7, I first noticed the problem. Downgraded to 10.6.6 and it worked again. Upgraded to 10.6.8 when it was released to see if this had the issue fixed - but it didn't, iTunes failed to stop on time again (only music videos).
Just downgraded to 10.6.6 and it still doesn't work!!! Now I'm really screwed and confused. HELP!

ITunes doesn't "see" my iPod Touch but Windows 7 does. What can I do?

Windows 7 using "MTP USB Device" driver so it recognizes that it's an Apple iPod but iTunes doesn't see it. I have spent the entire day following the "install/ininstall/start AMDS/stop AMDS" instructions ad nauseum...still no love. Frustration maxed out!

I plugged in iPod but iTunes doesn't want to open due to a Full Disk??????

I'll tried opening my itunes for about a month now but nothing happens.
I'll tried downloading the lastest version of iTunes but they say my disk
is full. I don't now what disk they are talking about. I don't even now the
name or how to access it to try and empty it. Please help I am about to cry because my ipod doesn't charge, iTunes doesn't open, and I have no clue what "disk" they are talking about.

Trouble w/ iTunes & external hard drives: iTunes doesn't like to play nice

This is a story about my external hard drives and my macbook pro. Some time ago, I moved my itunes music folder with all of my songs and movies consolidated to it onto external hard drive #1, but kept my itunes organizational data on my macbook pro's internal hard drive. Life was good. I had more internal hard drive space on my macbook pro then ever because all my songs and movies were gone, and itunes worked flawlessly as long as hard drive #1 was connected.
To prepare for the future, I also dragged a copy of my itunes music folder with all my songs and movies in it onto hard drive #2 for safekeeping. Now, i had 2 copies of my itunes songs and movies, one on each hard drive. My insurance policy was in place. One day, hard drive #1 stopped mounting on my computer. It was time for old #1 leave me for the sweet peace of the afterlife. I bought a new hard drive, hard drive #3. I dragged my backup of hard drive #1's old files, including my itunes music folder with all of my songs and movies, from hard drive #2 to hard drive #3.
Now, my entire itunes data folder is sitting on hard drive #3 and yet itunes doesn't seem to want to play nice. All of my files have cute little exclamation marks next to them. When I double click on a song, iTunes pretends to be lost. It asks me to locate the mp3 and naturally I find it right in my iTunes music folder by searching for it, only this time it's sitting on hard drive #3 instead of hard drive #1. By going manually through my library this way, i could keep all playlists, play counts, ratings, and other lovely bits of data intact. However, this would take years, as my songs and movies number in the bajillions. If there isn't an easy solution I am missing, surely there must be a script or program that does this legwork for me, perhaps while I slumber.
No one on the internet seems to have this problem; everyone wants to use their ipods to restore their songs and movies. Since I own an iPod Touch, restoring the pitiful amount of files I have on it is a waste of my time, especially when all the files from my iPod are sitting right on little old hard drive #3 anyway. Citizens of the interwebs, here my plea: I require a solution to my problem of getting iTunes to recognize the folder of data it once interfaced with so seamlessly. I require a solution that does not destroy four years worth of playlists, and preferably not the "date added" data on my tracks either. All other data is fine for me to lose, but preferably not. I already know that finding the tracks manually keeps all data intact. My first inclination is that a solution to my problem may be to speed up that process. For those who seek an answer, as I do: godspeed, brave mac users. God.... godspeed.

BE AWARE THOUGH:
I followed these steps and had a strange issue come up. I don't think it was at all related following the steps above. But just double check your music BEFORE you throw out any of the music from you computers hard drive.
Here's what happen.
Some of my music forgot what file type they were. I had some that decided to be plist others jpg others something else. It was totally random. And a HUGE pain to replace the music. But I worked through it.

ITunes makes keyboard stop working?

This is a brand new PC that was just built, running Windows 7 Professional (64-bit).
I have tried 3 keyboards, one wired and and two wireless, all USB (this computer doesn't have a PS/2 connector). All of them are fine on other PCs. The keyboard works fine until I install iTunes, then it stops working. When I reboot, the keyboard works in the BIOS, but as soon as I get into Windows, it stops working again. If I uninstall iTunes, it's fine again. Reinstall iTunes, again, no keyboard.
Any idea why this is happening, or suggestions for fixing it?

It is best to let as much as possible be handled automatically, but getting two screens working properly requires a bit of tweaking.
