ITunes doesn't sync all my music to my iPhone

When I sync my iPhone with iTunes 11 via usb, I go to "On This iPhone" and some of the songs are grayed out and have a circle next to them, and are not on my iPhone. How do I fix this?

I've tried all the suggestions on here, but without any success. However, what I did find was that the 'missing' CDs are in fact on my iPhone (I did a spotlight search) and have been imported, but just don't show up on my iTunes!!!
Another baffling Apple anomaly. I must say that iTunes in general is very poor. Transferring from iPhone to iPhone is often made very difficult. Music bought and paid for via iTunes can not be listened to on non-Apple products, yet if it is downloaded illegally and for free it can be listened to on anything (explain that one). And lo and behold if your PC which has your iTunes on it breaks (which they do) or needs replacing. In most cases, you lose everything.
It's the typical attitude of a manufacturer which has got far too big for its boots and thinks it can do anything and we will all keep buying. Look at Ericsson and Nokia (in Europe at least). Even the design of the phone is very out-of-date now. Check out the Sony Z1 to see real innovation.
This will be my last iPhone if it stays like this (which I suppose it will). I'm off to Android. Much easier, less big brother and much more fun.

  • Itune do not sync all my music on my iPhone 4

I Sync all my music library on my iPhone4 and iPad. iTunes tell me that I have 2195 songs to Sync. On my iPad, all the songs is their.
But on my iPhone, he only Sync 2046 songs (the size used on my iPad versus my iPhone confirm that I have song missing 0.7 GB missing).
I still have 4.8 GB Free on my iPhone, this is not a memory problem.
I have removed all my music on my iPhone, and he is syncing the same amount of music.
If is their a reason that the iPhone will Sync less song?

and interestingly: This solution does not work:
    /t5/Music/Ovi-Player-indexing-files-from-folders-it-s-not-allowed-to/m-p/595905/highlight/true#M1346...
I removed the "my music" folder, but still I have all songs from this folder in OVI Music.
I want to completely get rid of all indexed music, and only have OVI watch a specific folder...

  • My iTunes is not syncing all my music to my iphone despite goin throuh the motions and saying its syncing

It starts out normal as if it's syncing properly and then reverts back. Stating its complete however half of my music is not synced and it says I have all the space available

I had similar problem.  Found an answer and it worked fine.  First, connect your 4s to your Mac and iTunes.  Go to device, music and deselect Sync Music at very top.  Then, go to Summary and Sync the 4s.  Note that when finished all your music will be gone off the 4s.  disconnect the iPhone from the computer and do a Hard Shutdown or reboot/reset.  You do this by:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.
Reconnect to the computer and iTunes.  Go to device, music, and check Sync Music.  Then select Sync on the summary page.  When finished all my songs and playlists were back on the iPhone the way they should be.  Good luck.

  • I moved my iTunes folder to an external hard drive, now itunes wants to sync all of music to my iPhone twice.

I copied my whole itunes folder to an external drive as id run out of space on my PC. I then changed the location of the folder on iTunes through preferances, but it gave me a warning which i just pressed no/cancel to without reading it, but i didnt realise that then it had not saved the new folder location. When i deleted the original folder, everything dissapeared from itunes meaning i had to reload everything from the new, moved, itunes folder.  This wasnt a problem, except it had lost all memory of playlists and play counts etc. But now, when i try and sync my phone, it tells me there is not enough space on the phone as it must be trying to add all of the music from itunes to the phone as well as what is already on the phone.
Is there a way to upload everything from the phone to itunes, including play counts and playlists?
    if not....
How do i just sync my phone to itunes without having to reset the phone and losing photographs, and without itunes trying to add everything twice?
Last question, why do Apple want to make this so difficult for me? What is wrong with plane old 'click and drag'??
Help me would be greatly apprerciated!! Thanks.

Close iTunes. Click the icon to start it, then press and hold down the left shift key. Keep holding until asked to choose or create a library. Choose the iTunes folder on your external drive. That should bring back all your playlists, ratings, play counts etc. You may have to settle for removing and reloading the media onto the device again. That's not too bad, but what you don't want to have happen is your apps being removed and reloaded as then you can lose settings and data. If that looks likely backup and then restore the device rather than sync it.
If for some reason rebuilding the library the way you did has moved files around then the restored library may have trouble finding things. If so post back and I'll explain what to do...

  • ITunes doesn't sync my iPhoto photos to my iPhone.

iTunes doesn't sync my iPhoto photos to my iphone, it says that is missing an file.
When I sync my iPhone with iTunes appears a messeage saying that is missing a file and it's impossible to sync the iPhoto photos.

Was trying to fix my iphoto albums when I synced with itunes, I got a message saying that the iphone cannot sync because a required file cannot be found. I have tried restoring to original firmware, I have also tried the trouble shooting advice about ticking off the photos sync, unplugging the phone, then deleting the ipod photo cache and then reconnecting with itunes and checking the photos sync button again, all to no avail. I still can't restore my photos on my iphone4. No help still?

  • My iTunes doesn't have  all the music that my iPod has. But when i sync my iPod it doesn' t put my music back onto my computer, how do i fix this?

So, I looked at my iTunes library and realized that i had a rather small amount of music on it, while i have a rather large amount of music on my iPod. I don't know where all my music went on my computer, and I have no clue how it isn't there. When I sync my iPod it doesn't transfer my music back or even give me the, "We found some music on your iPod that is no longer in your library, would you like to transfer these songs?"
I don't really know what to do, andy advice?

Never mind, the problem just fixed itself when i searched for an artist that wasn't there. That was odd.

  • Itunes doesn't list all my music in my itunes library, will refuse to sync some albums

Both of these problems have been issues for me for years. I've finally gotten irritated enough to post something. As a musician with a variable and eclectic taste, I've always had a huge CD collection. Some years ago I got my first mp3 player and soon broke down and converted every last CD to mp3. Now everything I buy is digital and I have some 300 GB of mp3's!
I've searched around for a solution to this problem many times over the past several years and was never able to find any posts that describe either problem.
The first part of my problem has always been that, after installing iTunes and telling it where my library is, it starts to catalog them in the iTunes library. However it always stops short of cataloging all my music. Also, after the inital cataloging it does right after installing iTunes, it never cataloges again, so my new music never appears in the library. This is very irritating since this means I can't listen to my new music on my iPhone.
The second part of my problem happens when I try to sync individual albums that are already in my iTunes library with my iPhone 3GS 32GB (iOS 5). This also has been a problem for years. I prefer to sync individual albums with my iPhone, so I keep the "sync only checked songs and videos" box checked, and then go into (my iphone)>music and check individual albums. Sometimes I will try to add a few albums to my iPhone, so I'll go and check them and click Sync. iTunes goes through the sync process, but during the last step where it's supposed to copy the songs to the phone, it will not copy any songs. I check on my phone, and sure enough they are not there. I check the list of checked albums in iTunes in (my phone)>Music and they are checked. Unchecking, clicking sync, then checking again, and clicking sync gives me the same exact results. Whenver this happens with an album, the album forever refuses to be synced with my phone. Also, each time this happens, the bar at the bottom of iTunes showing the free space in my iPhone decreases as if it's on there, but it is not on the phone. I can go on to sync other albums with my phone, but the albums that misbehave like this will never sync. I know it's not the mp3's that are in the albums: they play just fine in both WMP and iTunes. Also there does not seem to be a pattern to which albums will not sync. Some albums were ripped from my original CD collection, some were bought digitally.
How can I fix these issues? I think they're distinct and not related. Thanks in advance for all the helpful tips

I should mention that, for the first problem, I do make sure that my new tracks are stored in the folder where I told iTunes that my music is in. Also, when I say the cataloging of my library stops short of cataloging all my songs, I have tried leaving the computer unattended for days (my computer's sleep mode is disabled). It always stops before cataloging all of my music regardless of whether I am doing something else while iTunes is cataloging, or if I just let iTunes be the only program that's open during the cataloging process.

  • Help, my iPod doesn't sync all my music

Ok, I transfered my music from my old pc to my new mac, via my ipod. One problem when I went to sync my music back onto my ipod not all the music would sync. This message keeps appearing,
Some of the items in the itunes library were not copied to
the ipod because you are not authorized to play them on this
    computer.
I've tried authorizing my mac, but it doesn't seem to do anything. What am I missing? Is there something else I can do? There are 100 songs that won't sync, most of which I purchased from the itunes store.
Please help, and thanks in advance to anyone who can help out.

After fiddling with my itunes library i was able to authorize my computer, and then succesfully synced my ipod, thanks anyway

  • I recently gave my old iPod touch someone after restoring it Etc.   the iPod was completely cleared off.  However it's only taking some of their music. How do I get it to sync with their iTunes account and sync all their music ?

I recently restored my iPod and gave it to my mom.  It accepted some of her music but not all of it synced. How do I get all of her music to sync

    1) You asked "Does she need to reconnect to that itunes/computer and if so what do we need to do to remove this folder of pics from her ipod?" Yes, you have to connect the iPod to that computer and go to the Photos pane for the iPod in iTunes and uncheck sync photos and the click on synce/apply. In the future do not check sync photos.
iOS and iPod: Syncing photos using iTunes
    2)
Create a NEW account for using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
Then on the iPod go to
    - Settings>Messages>Send and receive and sign out your ID and sign into hers. Make sure that only her ID email address is listed.
    - Settings>FaceTime sign out of your ID and sign into hers. Make sure that under You can be reached at only her ID email address is listed
    - Settings>iCloud and sign out and sign in with hers
Contnue to use the commpn ID/account for Settings>iTunes and App stores.

  • My iPod doesn't sync all my music! HELP! :(

Hello there! I happen to be having a couple of troubles with my iPod classic lately. The last one and the most miserable one is that last night when I added three new albums on my iTunes Library and then synced my iPod to copy them on it, I noticed that all my music has been reduced from 54gb to 19 gb!! I was and still am in schock because I dunno what happened! I've done like I usually do and got no error during the syncing process. I still have 54gb of music on my pc and iTunes even now, but my iPod won't sync for more than 2 minutes so it can't copy all the music on it.
I gotta mention that my iTunes is up to date, I've got a new perfectly working computer and my iPod is also pretty new (bought it earlier this year).
PLEASE HELP ME FOUND A SOLUTION TO THIS!!
P.S I'm going on a long enough road trip next week so my iPod breaking down right now is a complete nightmare
    THANKS!

My Suggestions, when syncing an iPod Classic on a Windows machine.
Disconnect your PC from Internet. (just to make sure no nasties creep into your system while you syncing.
    Stop the Antivirus program
    Disconnect all other USB Devices
Connect your iPod to the PC, using a high speed USB 2.0 port at the back of your PC. (if you are using a Desktop PC)
When iTunes Open up, Restore your iPod please, this is for iTunes to map correctly, to fix the corrupted filesystem. (if you have more than a few GB of Others)
When Restore complete, eject the iPod and reconnect again.
    Sync your iPod.
    Good Luck!

  • ITunes doesn't sync all my songs.

I've put some of the songs from my computer to iTunes, plugged my iPod Touch into the computer, iTunes has recognised the device, I've clicked on my iPod, gone to 'Music', selected 'selected playlists, artists and genres', 'include music videos', 'include voice memos' and then I've selected the artists and playlist I want to go on my iPod, then clicked 'Sync'. Out of the 165 songs in the playlist I synced, 11 songs haven't synced to the iPod, and about 5 or 6 of the different artists I selected haven't synced to the iPod. A few of the artists/songs, I've been able to sync before, whereas some of them, I have tried time after time and they've never been synced, but since I updated my iPod and iTunes, through iTunes, they're not all syncing.
So I went to www.apple.com/support/ipodtouch/assistant/ipodtouch and searched all over apple's support pages, but could find nothing to help me, even though there was mention of help with syncing problems on the iPod Touch support page (underneath the link from said page to the troubleshooting assistant it said 'resolve common syncing and network issues and more' but all it gave me on those pages was the regular advice, which I'd already tried, like restart the computer, check the USB port, ect)
Any idea why I'm having these problems?

A video that previously synced now isn't, also.

  • Why can't I sync all my music on my iphone

Help, I've recently bought an iphone and plugged it into my Vaio to download all the music from my itunes library which I set up for my ipod, however when I syn entire library it will only syn half the albums, all software is up to date.  Why?

Sorry diesel vdub, I have never been on a site like this before and an relatively techno illiterate, however I have no sync errors and have downloaded all the latest updates.  I have a 16gb ipod and have only got 99 albums which totals 7gb with no photos, apps or other, so in theory there is plenty of space, when I click on the ipod app on the phone it only shows me the albums listed from G in the alphabet to Z.  A to F are missing?  Hope this helps. Thx

  • ITunes will not sync ALL of my ringtones to iPhone 6

I updated to iOS 8.02 and now cannot sync ALL of my ringtones which still show in iTunes library.  Some will NOT appear on my iPhone.  What is the solution?
I am using iTunes for Windows.

Try double clicking on each missing track in iTunes and make sure it plays okay - sometime son restoring, the link to the actual file goes missing and although its in the list the file does not get transferred.
If the link is broken, it will put a ? next to the track and ask you if you want to manually locate it, which you can do and then it will sync.
