Itunes doesnt download purchased music?

about 6 months ago itunes stopped downloading music I purchased. all the music I buy now builds up and doesnt go from purchased to in my libary. I try "check for Purchases" and it finds all the songs but when downloading it starts and then skips to the next song without downlading the first song and so on until there are no more songs to download.

Well it's nigh impossible to remember what may have changed 6 months ago....
Have you tried Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs?
Find iTunes and select the repair option when prompted

  • Why would iTunes stop downloading purchased music

    Good Afternnon,
My itunes account suddenly stopped downloading purchased music. I bought one song and it downloaded no problem, but when I attempt to complete and album, it goes throught all the steps but stops short of actually downloading any music. What might be te problem?
      Thanks,  Kandi

Also make sure your using the original account that was created when first purchasing those songs had you changed your account information such as your username and password. To re-download you must use the original account. If you didn't change anything it just might be a bug and try again later.
One time I couldn't upgrade my apps and kept trying. Next thing you know about 20 minutes later they upgraded, no problem. This happens occasionally.

  • Error messages everytime itunes tries to download purchased music

We got a new computer recently, and on our old computer I believe we had itunes 5, and we had a 30 gb 5th gen that we downloaded purchased music onto. we can only get dial up connection where we live, and we never had an issue downloading, it just took awhile.
Now that we have our new computer, we also added an 80gb to the newer itunes (7?) we put on the new computer. I have purchased 3 songs, and everytime i try to download them, it says the network connection has timed out, or to check the network connection, etc. Not even a snippet of the song gets downloaded. It pretty much immediately goes to the error message.
Is itunes 7 set up to only be used with a broadband connection to download? Our internet connection is never the issue. Its pretty irritating to have songs ive purchased and not be able to put them on our ipods.
Any help would be appreciated, as im not too computer literate, and i cant figure this out.

  • Error -42018 Cannot Download Purchased Music from iTunes Store

I cannot download music, it says unknown error -42018 check network connection and try again. I can download videos just fine, but music. This has never done this before. I downloaded music before just fine. I turned off my firewall but no luck. Please help resolve!!!

    Hey everybody,
I also was experiencing the unknown error -42018 when attempting to download purchased music. Additionally, I was stuck in an endless authorization loop when attempting to play previously purchaed music. All this started when I installed the latest iTunes software 7.0.2.
I run windows XP Pro, and unlike the majority of users I actually set it up correctly with a dedicated administrator account, and regular user accounts instead of just running as admin all the time. For me, that was the cause of the problem.
The new version of iTunes software required FULL CONTROL privilages on the iTunes and iPod install directories for all user accounts that were using the program. (Previous versions worked fine, so this is a new thing.) Once I provided those permissions, iTunes worked correctly. Follow this link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/304040 for information on how to provide FULL CONTROL to every user account.
I hope you all find this helpful in solving your problem.
    Good Luck,
    Bill

How do you download purchased music from the newest version of Itunes to my iPhone?

Update the version of iTunes on your computer. If the computer's currently running 10.5.8 or 10.6.8, this may require upgrading its OS.

  • Help, i get the 'error downloading purchased music.' what do i do?

i can download music and podcast fine but when i try to purchase a tv show i get the error message "there was an error downloading purchased music. the disk could not be read from or written to" i went to the purchases command in the advanced menu several times with no luck. i have purchased three seperate shows and get the same message. i'm tired of wasting money and would like some help.
    thanks

Hmm... I've never seen a issue exactly like this before personally, but usually you get the "Disk Locked" error when installing iTUnes or adding anything, songs or videos to iTunes folder. go here and follow the instructions http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302398
You may have to uninstall/reinstall iTunes AND quicktime if this does not work. Uninstlling iTunes DOES NOT delete any music, playlist, ratings ect ect

  • Error (-50) When Trying To Download Purchased Music

    Hello -
I recently upgraded to iTunes 7.0.1. Since then, I cannot download purchased music. I get the following error message:
There was a problem downloading X (name of song). An unknown eror occurred (-50).
I have never had problems downloading purhcased music before. Is there a known bug/issue with 7.0.1?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
    Thansk -
    Julie

I am having the SAME PROBLEM and it's driving me NUTS! I couldn't find an answer here so I emailed iTunes support. Here is what they said:
The error you describe may be caused by the presence of web
acceleration or firewall software. While the iTunes Store is unable to provide
technical support, I can recommend that you either test your connection to
the iTunes Store without the presence of this software or configure
your system to allow access to the iTunes Store's address.
However, I'm not sure that is my problem because my computer is new, (I have a macbook), I haven't downloaded any kind of software other than software updates from apple, I use safari, and my roommate has no problem d-loading onto her computer. Also, the album I purchased comes with an interactive booklet and that downloads without a problem. So, I don't know. I just emailed them again and I'll respond to this thread if I get a solution. Otherwise, please let me know if you figure it out!

  • Download Purchased Music - To a New MacBook Pro

Hello,  I would like to download my previously downloaded & purchased music to a new MacBook Pro.  My old Old Windows PC crashed and nothing was recoverable. Is this possible?  If not I have lost all my music

You will be able to download your previously purchased music. If you didn't subscribe to Match,
anything else that you didn't back up will be lost.
With iTunes 11, anything that's available (previous purchases or Match) will appear as cloud
content in iTunes when you log in with your AppleID.
If the music was synced to a device, you can use a third party utility to pull it back off.

  • Downloading Purchased Music

When trying to download purchased music I am getting an error message - You do not have enough privileges for this operation.
    Can someone please help me.

Under normal conditions there is NO free re-download - Apple strongly recommends to backup purchased music.
    So far the bad news.
    Now the better ones:
If you've got an iPod that has been synched recently, you may use tools like yamipod, ipod copy or others to retrieve your tracks.
If that's not the case, try contacting http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/musicstore/lostmusic/
Some users reported that they were granted free re-downloads

  • ITunes store - downloading purchased songs kicks back to "more" menu

I am on iOS 8. Using iPhone and in the iTunes Store > More > Purchased > Music. When I click on iCloud icon next to a track to download, it begins the download, but kicks me back to the "More" menu and I have to navigate back to download additional songs. Before I could download as many tracks as I wanted before manually exiting the screen. Anyone else seeing this?

I'm having the same issue... But it even happens on some artist with a lot of music listed. It just stays stuck on the loading screen on my iPhone 5. I would like to download my music please!
