Itunes doesnt launch after hourglass, PLS HELP!!!

I have tried downloading, re-downloading, doing this in different accounts, deleting different accounts, un-installing anything and everything to do with Itunes and Quicktime, re-installing them together and seperately, turning off firewalls during the installation process of itunes and quicktime (respectively),tried installing itunes and then deleting quicktime and re-downloading qicktime with and without firewalls. Needless to say I AM EXHAUSTED. I have tried just about everything that I come across in these forums and everytime I read a success in one person, I try that "remedy" with no positive result. I have a gateway with windows security system and spyware. i am not very computer suavy, though, I can follow instrcutions very clearly, so I seriously doubt that I am a lost cause, thanks ANYONE that can help I would really appreciate it.

    Can you check something for me please?
    Restart your PC. after the PC restarts, bring up your Task manager, and go to the "Processes" tab. Click "Image name" to sort the processes alphabetically.
    Now try to launch iTunes.
    Does an itunes.exe process appear? If so, does it vanish after a second or so, or does it persist in the Processes tab (even though iTunes itself never shows up)?

    Recently i reinstalled my Windows XP (SP2). I installed iTunes.8 but it doesnt launch. I tried with that: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1593?viewlocale=en_US but it didn't help. Scanned my computer, then turned off my antivirus(avast 4.8) and still the same. What's strange i have iTunes.exe in task manager. When i connect my iPod nano it is just recognized as a massive storage disc and that's it. I reinstalled every 7th version of itunes and it worked till 7.4 but it doesn't support iPod Nano. I have NO IDEA what's wrong:( Please help!!

    Ia m beginner in java web start. I creaate a simple swing application and try to launch it through web start. But I failed. My application jar file (sample.jar)contains only class files. No menifest file. Then I sign my "sample.jar" file and placed inside tomcat server: "webapps/root/WebStart/Sample". I also placed the "sample.jnlp" file in the above directory.The name of my main class is :"Sample" .Here is the content of sample.jnlp:

    I fixed the porblem by modifying the sample.jnlp file. Here is the latest version:

    *click on itunes logo after installation complete > TOS comes up > clicks on agree > window closes and nothing else happens.*
    itunes.exe simply disappears from both the applications and the proccesses in the task manager.
    this is the first itunes install and launch after i bought an ipod touch.
    im running win 7 ultimate 64bit ; itunes latest ver, DL'd from official site (apple)
    tried launching in safe boot, admin mode, nothing works
    if this problem cannot be fixed, what are some alternatives to itunes, can they be used w/o setting the ipod touch up with itunes??
    im pretty frustrated atm ._.

    Lets try and see whether this file APSDaemon.exe is the problem here.
    Close your iTunes.
    Press Ctrl-Alt-Del key and choose Task Manager. In the "Processes" Tab, select the file APSDaemon.exe and click End Prosses button, then close the task manager window.
    Now open itunes and see if it is working?

    I downloaded the new iTunes software a little while ago, and everything was working fine until yesterday.
    Every time I try to load iTunes I get the hourglass for a few seconds and then nothing!
    I have uninstalled Norton Anti Virus and Quicktime also works fine with no problems.
    I have scoured this message board and nothing seems to do the trick.
    Can anybody help?

    Am over the moon, have sorted it out.
    Very bizarre, I was trying everything and as a last resort deleted my entire itunes library of tunes.. took everything ipod related from my PC, and totally downloaded itunes again.. still nothing. Majorly ****** off at this point as lost library and still not working.
    I created another account on my pc, logged in there, downloaded itunes, imported one album on there.. then logged back into my main account, and itunes works!!
    Have lost my pc library, but have everything still on my ipod, so could be worse I guess..
    Shame I can't load from ipod to itunes, but hey ho.. it's apple, you can't have everything!!

  • Cannot launch J2ee server, pls help

    I am not able to launch j2ee server. I have followed instructions in Installation
    file and installed software in correct directories and have set up environment
    variables in autoexec file as follows:
    set J2EE_HOME=c:\j2sdkee1.3
    set JAVA_HOME=c:\jdk1.3.1
    set ANT_HOME=c:\ant
    set PATH=%PATH%;%JAVA_HOME%\bin
    When I try the command j2ee -verbose, it gives an error <bad command
    or file name>. Could anyone pls help.

    it displays c:\j2sdk331.3\bin
    I thought maybe J2EE does not support win98 but I read in this forum that
    someone is able to run J2EE on win98 platform. I really don't know what to do.

  • Itunes doesnt work after system restore

    Hey i just downloaded the latest version on itunes a few days ago. I opened the program once and it worked well. Then yesterday i had a problem with my pc and i did a sytem restore. Now my itunes doesn't work. Whenever the try opening it this is the message i get:
    The new file "iTunes Library.itl" cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes.
    If any one could help me i'd appreciate it

    Unfortunately, when you System Restored over the top of the iTunes install, it may have dropped old program files from iTunes and related components back on the PC. So you may have old iTunes componentry trying to open the new library.
    I'd try a complete uninstall and reinstall of iTunes and related componentry on the PC, with a slight modification. The basic technique is given in:
    [Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923]
    The modification is that when you are working through the *Verify iTunes and related components are completely uninstalled* section, in addition to the program files and folders mentioned there (such as "iTunes" and "BonJour"), you might see program folders called "iTunes (2)" or iTunes (3)" or "BonJour (2)" and so on. Also delete such folders with the names of Apple software with numbers and parentheses.

    I tried several times to connect my AppleTV with my laptop but it doesnt work. My iTunes doesnt recognize my AppleTV. My network work fine. I can play trailer on my appleTV. When I use the laptop of my GF the appleTV is recognize in iTunes(7.6.1.9). I have the same version of iTunes in my laptop(7.6.1.9) but with my laptop it doesnt work!! I tried like 3 times to uninstall and reinstall iTunes but with no success. What I need to do to make it work with MY laptop. I made a little video to us to understand the problem.

    Can your girlfriends computer see your itunes over the network, will hers stream music from yours?
    Can your itunes see the internet and visit the store?
    Check your iTunes prefs to see it it is set to look for appletv's
    If iTunes cant see the internet or your girlfriends itunes it may be a firewall issue

    I have even tried to remove I tunes through the add & remove section in the control panel, but this also does not allow me to do this and i get the same message.

    I just bought a new iPod Nano and installed iTunes 7.02 sucessfully and it wont launch at all...it simply sits there...I have no problem with Quicktime loading...I have changed my speaker settings and even did the run program fix with no prevail...I am so frustrated...I dont know if this help either but my computer wont run windows live messenger either....it wont run anything after 7.0..............argggg

    Iam Using iTunes (11.0.1 on mac osc 10.8.2) and iTunes started to open automatically since yesterday ...
    this is happening even after deleting itunes pref. files and itunes helper preference files

    Check Dashboard to see if you have any iTunes-related widgets running. If so, close them and see if that makes a difference.

    I updated my itunes to 10.4 and since then it will not connect to the itunes store and synching is not working either.  I've emailed Apple and tried their suggestions with no luck.  There was a recent post on here in June with success and it was something to do with a proxy server??? Can someone help me reinstate my itunes please...i miss it!!!

    Disconnect all devices from your computer.  If you have not already done so after updating iTunes, repair permissions and restart your computer.  If this does not work, b oot up from your install DVD and run "Repair Disk" from the Utility menu.
