I am trying to update to iTunes 10 to us my new iPad, but I can not remove a corrupted? "apple software update" program... I can get everything else off, but due to "previous version" of software update it will not continue.
I stopped in to see one of the genius at the local store who referred me to "Windows Installer 4.5 Redistributable" (I am trying to install it on a Windows XP System)
The last version on iTunes on my PC was iTunes 7.
    Thanks for your help,
    Julia from Woodridge

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Update entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

  • My itunes can't see my new ipad ..did everything what day said on the apple web and still nothing ..help

my itunes can't see my new ipad ..did everything what day said on the apple web and still nothing ..help.....

    What is "everything"?
First, be sure you are using the most recent version of iTunes.
Use a different cable and USB port.
You can try resetting your iPad by simultaneously pressing and holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until you see the Apple Logo. This can take up to 15 seconds so be patient and don't release the buttons until the logo appears.
Try again to see if the problem persists.

  • Use iPod Touch 4th gen iTunes backup to setup a new iPad Mini 1 - issues

    Hi all,
I've just used my Pod Touch 4th gen iTunes backup to setup a new iPad Mini 1 but none of the apps were installed on the iPad mini. Only the default apps are installed.
None of the photos from the camera roll were installed either, apart from a few 'screen shots' I have taken.
iPod Touch is iOS 6.1.6 and the iPad mini is 8.1
There was a warning advising that some of the apps in the iPod backup might not be compatible with the iPad.
If it makes a difference, I'm using one Apple ID for the App store and another one for iCloud. When I was prompted for the Apple ID during setup on the Mini, I entered the iCloud ID.
Interestingly, when I went into the App store on the Mini it showed the ID I use for that rather than the iCloud one, which seemed good.
Is this what I should expect to happen in this situation or am I doing something wrong ?
    Many thanks. Mark

I've managed to get the apps loaded without having to do it manualy !! :-)
It was a case of RTFM - I forgot to do a 'Sync' after restoring the 4G's iTunes backup into the iPad.
Transfer content from an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to a new device - Apple Support
For some unknown reason, the Camera Roll images and Videos still weren't restored to the new device.
This is not too much of an issue because I've exported them out of the 4G using the awesome 'Photo Sync' app. Despite it's name it actually does an 'export'and not a sync, which I think makes image management easier on the PC side

You need iTunes 11.1 or later on the computer.

  • I cannot get my itunes to connect with my new ipad

I cannot get my itunes to connect with my new ipad, it keeps telling me that it cannot be activated because the server cannot be reached and the my itunes tells me my network has been reset

Just have to give it some time. The activation and verification servers are all slammed right now 'cause of all the people trying to update at the same time. Give it a couple hours (or overnight if you can wait) and it should sort itself out.

  • Help! I reinstalled iTunes following apple instruction because my pc was not recognising my new iPad. I have lost all iTunes contents. If I sync my iPhone with my pc now will it all be wiped out?

Help! My new iPad would not sync with my pc. I followed apple instructions and reinstalled iTunes, but was gutted to find it wiped all my tunes, pictures and audiobooks. My iPhone still has everything stored- what do I do now? J

If you have non-itunes music on your computer still, you should have no problem relocating them and reuploading to itunes.
    Hope this helps.

  • I don't have my iTunes Match music on my new iPad mini although I switched it on

I got a new iPad mini. Now I wanted to check my music that's on iTunes Match. But it wouldn't show up on the new device although iTunes Match is switched on.
    What can I do?

Hi, I had the exact same problem, I got it working on my iPhone 5 eventually after having to turn on Use Data Roaming (simple eh).
So I tried for ages to get it to work on my new ipad mini, I couldn't for the life of me find out how as it is a wi-if only and I couldn't turn on cellular data.
So this might help you. Very simply I closed down my iPod app on my ipad, then went into settings and turned off my wi-fi. I then opened the iPod app to realise all my music was there (but greyed out and I couldn't play it). So I went and turned on my wi-fi again and it was all there ready to play!
Delightful and I hope this helps you!

  • Downloaded rental movie from iTunes cannot be transfered to new iPad

I have the new iPad. I downloaded a rental movie (Sherlock2). Tried to move it from iTunes on my mac to my new ipad, but says it can't be played on this iPad? According the specs it should be possible and the movie isn't even HD. Anyone?

Never mind. 15 minutes of research revealed that we own a 5th generation iPod, which evidently is not compatible with rentals. I am quite annoyed. Thanks Apple, for not making this clear at all in your FAQ. There should be a much more definitive description for compatibility in the FAQ, as I don't know anyone who is aware of which specific 'generation' of iPod they own. I had to go through the huge list of past and present models on the support site before figuring this out.
Does anyone know if it is possible to get a refund if we have not yet attempted to play the movie on our Windows machine that we rented the movie with?

  • How do i transfer songs from my itunes music library to my new ipad mini?

  • Windows or iTunes will not recognise my new ipod...

    Hi,
Looking for some help here! Tried all the iTunes help tips and cannot seem to get anywhere.
I have a new 80gig iPod, and am trying to use it on my laptop through XP. I have already an older 3rd generation 20gig player which I have been using fine, but now I cannot get the new software/pc to recognise the new iPod.
Am I missing something majorly obvious - is there a way to get it to 'unrecognise' my old one and only the new?
I have previously had no problems using multiple iPods on this machine.
Any help greatfully received before I go out of my mind!!
Thanks and Happy New Year, Karl

try the following steps, but if ipod is still not being recognized try a different computer

  • Cannot install "iTunes Movie Trailers App" on new iPad

    Hello all,
I just got the new iPad (3rd Gen.).
I am trying to install the iTunes Movie Trailer App (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/itunes-movie-trailers/id471966214?mt=8)
For some reason, after clicking the install icon, I get an error Pop-up screen that says "Action could not be completed".
I have installed plenty of other Apps with no issues at all.
Is this App only for U.S.  users (I am from Canada)?
I suspect it is something like this because my son also cannot install this App on his iPod touch.
    Any ideas?
    Christian

I am actually seing it in Canada.
Nevertheless, it should be able to say "Not available in your region" before I even get the possibility to download.
Like for example, if I go on the MTV website, I cannot view their videos, they give a proper message.
For sure they would be able to do the same in a more user-friendly message.
Another good example, go see this App for the BBC, first thing they say: Exclusive to the UK.

Simple, one line says it all.

  • How TO download itunes from Imac G5 to New Ipad

After receiving the new Ipad for xmas this year year I was overjoyed with excitment! It took me back to being a little girl again. So I tried to set up my Itunes on the Ipad, and to my annoyment my Imac G5 using only itunes 10 could not download the latetest Itunes, so hence not being able to connect itunes to my Ipad!
Yes I was annoyed, frustrated, and I tell you spat a few feathers! I spent hours on the internet seaching apps, links and I saw the hoards of people also having the same trouble. So I phoned up Apple gave them my serial number, all the operator told me that my computer was 6 years old ( yes only 6 years old and works perfect) and not compactible to the shiny, new, top of the range ipad. Bloody ****! I said. He was like it needs to be intel, No help giving, blah blah blah sob sob sob sob. So I would have to baciaclly download my itunes onto a storage unit, upload them to my dads PC then download them to my IPAD! AarrrH, wrong, Yes!
Then last night guys. LIGHT BULB!!
I signed my Imac G5 up to Itunes Match.
Bacically it stores all your tunes in the sky for £21.99 per year, yes a little cheaper than investing in a new mac I tell u!
    AND YES IT WORKS!!!!!!!!
My New shinny Ipad picks up the Itunes in the Sky and I now have Itunes that runs from my IMAC G5 into a cloud back down to my IPAD!
    And thats Magic!
Hope that helps you Imac G5 users. xx

The Music you purchased from iTunes are AAC (m4a) format. Depends on whether your MP3 player will support this format. Otherwise you can convert thses AAC format into mp3 format so that you can transfer those mp3 files to your MP3 Player.
Go to Itunes menu, EDIT > PREFERENCES, GENERAL tab. Go in IMPORT SETTINGS, under IMPORT USING, select MP3 encoder, then OK and OK.
Right mouse click the song(s) in music library will give you a Menu to select CREATE MP3 version.
