  • Itunes not showing Ipod

I have a 20 gig ipod that has worked fine for six months. last week when i connectedn it to my laptop via usb, a message came up and said i had to restore my ipod(and it wouldn't show up on itunes). tried to restore it but had another error "ipod service error". I followed everything in ipod support. uninstalled and reinstalled ituned. I'm able to restore the ipod now and windows does recognize it but itunes does not.I installed my original itunes as well as the current version. I've also installed itunes on both hard drives and used different usb ports.
    help?

I've been suffering this problem too so I hope this is useful......
Tried to run restore, but wouldn't recognise iPod. Tried also to reformat but I couldn't access it in Windows Explorer, but I could see it as a removable disk, just not access it.
Have just managed to fix it as follows:
    - Connected iPOD, with switch in off position.
Amber light starts flashing, Becomes visible but not accessible in Win Explorer.
    - Right click on MyComputer and select Manage
    - Select Storage, Disk Management
You should now see a removable disk, perhaps as a Drive E: or similar.
You hopefully can select this disk, and it is pretty unlikely that the file type will not be shown (normally would show FAT32, or NTFS).
    - From the menu bar. Actions > All Tasks > Format.
    - Reformat the disk as FAT32 as Deqqie says.
This hopefully should allow you to see this disk in Win Explorer which is progress.
    - You should now be able to see the device using iPod updater and run a Restore.
This then had me all back to normal and working in iTunes
    Good luck!

  • ITunes not showing iPod as connected

I have been trying to sync my iPod for several hours, but iTunes isn't showing that any devices are connected.
I have tried every USB port on my computer, and am getting the same result. I also checked the 'My Computer' section of the computer and it does not show anything connected.
And, if it helps, I have a Second Generation iPod Nano.

If your computer meets all minimum system requirements, and you've done all the listed troubleshooting steps in the article, then you should go ahead and set up a dispatch for the iPod. You can do that at the following website.

From the backup you regularly made of all your files on the computer.

Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.

  • Movies that i bought on itunes dont show on iCloud

movies that i bought on iTunes dosen't show on icloud , how do i get them back ?

Films can't be redownloaded in all countries, and even where they can be not all studios have agreed to it and studios could also remove their films from the store (if some films show for redownloading but others don't then check to see if any are hidden). If you haven't got copies of them on your computer/device nor on your backup of your downloads and they are still in your country's store, then you could try contacting support and see if they will grant you a re-download : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • Songs on my ipod dont show up the way they do in itunes

there have been a few cds that when I add them to my iTunes library work great, but once I put them on my iPod they dont show up where they're supposed to. For example, I have The Beatles' 1 album and it shows up in iTunes:
    Artist: The Beatles
    Album: 1
and when I get on my iPod there is no artist for The Beatles or Beatles, The or anything. But when I look in albums I can find the 1 album and thats where all the songs are. When the songs are played, it also says that the artist is The Beatles, but it still wont show up on the artist list. The same thing has happened in other ways, like one of my cds doesnt show up under the artist or album lists but I can pick the individual songs out of the songs section. How can I fix this? it shows up correctly when the song is actually plated, and on my itunes, but they arent categorized at all.
    iPod 30gb

This isn't foolproof but there are usually two things that contribute to songs not appearing under Artist on the iPod, both due to information either in or missing from the Get Info>Info tab against the song in iTunes. 1) the song is marked as part of a compilation or 2) it is missing an album name.
If the tracks are ticked in the Get Info>Info tab as part of a compilation, they will not appear under Artist on the iPod. Highlight a song in iTunes that you know is not appearing correctly on your iPod. Right click on it and choose Get Info and click the Info tab (alternatively choose Get Info from the File menu), if "Part of a Compilation" is marked untick it and afterwards update your iPod, you should find it now appears as normal. Compilations are stored in a separate folder in iTunes so the songs don't appear inside the normal Artist>Album folder which may be why this happens.
Also if tracks are missing an Album name in the Info tab, this information needs to be filled in, in the absence of one you can just add None or Miscellaneous. See this link for more detail: I don't see some of my songs when browsing by artist on my iPod

hi! it worked for me when i first tried it. but now
it doesnt...itz giving me an error (-50) i dont kno
    wat to do
    Windows XP
That happened to me too. The only way I could "fix" it was to restore my ipod, I've only just got mine a couple of days and I only had to re-load 3.5gb of mp3s but it was all I could think of.
I have noticed that when you right click on a song in itunes and select the "get info" box to paste lyrics and artwork, when you click the next or previous buttons and then go back to the original location the lyrics or artwork entered is sometimes missing, it's like it just doesn't write the information to the file, you have to paste, hit next and previous a few times to swap between tracks to make sure the information is retained.
