Itunes dosen't recognize my iphone or ipad.
When I last connected my iphone Windows installed new drivers. It is now showing in my computer as a camera. Now it won't show up in ITunes. I tried connecting my IPad and I have the same problem. I have tried all of the troubleshooting and still have the same problem. I have Windows 7 64-bit. Can someone out there please help me?
Did you try uninstalling and then reinstalling iTunes according to Apples directions found here?

If you launch iTunes on your own when the iPad is connected, do you see the device's name under Devices on the left side of the iTunes window?

I was running the previous version of itunes and it worked perfectly. I just installed the latest version of itunes (version 11.1.4.62) and restarted the PC and now itunes doesn't recognize my iphone or my ipad. I'm running Windows 8.1 on my pc. I tried diagnostics to no avail. The diagnostic didn't recognize either device. As the directions advised, I closed itunes, disconnected the devices and stopped and restarted the apple mobile device service, That didn't work either. My wife, who also has Windows 8.1, has the same problem. She installed the new version and it doesn't recognize her devices.
Until now, itunes has been totally reliable. I am convinced the problem is with itunes. Where do I go from here?I resolved the issue by doing the following:
1. Uninstall iTunes and every Apple application (device support and such).
2. Uninstall bonjour.
3. Reboot.
4. Go to Apple and install iTunes.
It worked. When I opened iTunes (after reinstalling) it recognized all my devices, music and video. -

It sounds lik eyou iPhone and iPad are not showing in the iTunes sidebar after a recent update. A number of issues could cause this type of behaviour, and would recommend starting with the troubleshooting from the article named:

If the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is not listed
Disconnect the device from the computer.
Save a screenshot by pressing the Home button and the Wake/Sleep button at the same time (the screen should flash briefly). Note: Taking screenshots and saving images on iPod touch requires iOS version 2.0 or later.
Reconnect the device to the computer.
Open the Device Manager in Windows as follows:
Windows XP: Click Start > Run. In the resulting dialog type devmgmt.msc and press Return.
Windows Vista or Windows 7: Click Start. In the dialog, type devmgmt.msc and press Return. If Windows needs your permission to continue, click "Continue".
Windows 8: Move the cursor to the upper right corner, click the magnifying glass, type devmgmt.msc, and press Return.

Look for the entry that recognizes the device as a camera. This entry should be called Apple iPhone,Apple iPad, or Apple iPod. -
ITunes no longer recognizes attached iPhone or iPad
I currently run OS X 10.9.5 with iTunes 12.0.1.26 on an early 2009 iMac. With the latest update of iTunes, which I think *****, it no longer recognizes either my iPhone 5 or my iPad Mini (Retina) when plugged into the Mac. It was working, and now it isn't. It won't even sync via WiFi at this point.
It seems to work again after a clean shutdown and reboot. Should not happen.

I was running 10.4.11 and things were working. Just got an iPad, which wouldn't work on 10.4.11 so I upgraded to 10.6.3. Now when I plug in the iPhone to the iMac the only thing that launches is iPhoto. If I open iTunes it does not show the iphone. And plugging in the iPad gets no results either.
What do I need to do? All help appreciated.Embarrassing...I hadn't upgraded the iTunes software.

There has to be a fix without doing that.
You're not using any sort of hub or extender are you? iTunes doesn't always like that.

If you are having issues with AppleMobileDeviceHelper.exe then you would need to uninstall iTunes and its associated software in the order listed in the article below and then reinstall iTunes, as it is part of the installer file.

ITunes no longer recognizes my iPhone 4
I have had 3 iOS devices connecting to iTunes on Windows for more than 4 months. For some reason iTunes no longer recognizes my iPhone 4. My iPad and iPhone 4S still work as they should. Windows sees the iPhone 4, but it never shows up in iTunes. I followed the advice for getting services restarted in Windows, but since it's only one device that's an issue I'm thinking there may be an issue in the iPhone 4. Ideas?

Start iTunes. Make sure you really are running the version you think you are. Sometimes people end up with two copies, different versions.

You say you are running Snow Leopard 10.6.3. That version will not run the latest iTunes which requires 10.6.8 If you need iTunes 10.7 you have to be running 10.6.8
