ITunes downgrade advice needed
Hey.
I'd like to downgrade from iTunes 11.0.1 to iTunes 10.
I'm using OSX 10.8.3.
I know there are a bunch of threads on the internet about this already,
but it seems that by simply removing iTunes 11, and installing 10, that
there will be some complications with having to replace some additional files,
and I can't seem to find a thread with my exact OS version.
I just opened up a brand new MPB, and i'm pretty scared about messing some
stuff up.
It'd be great if somebody who's had experience with this could give me a run down
of what I need to do, why I need to do it, and what precautions I should take.

p.s. the reason I want to downgrade, is to get back the feature which allows you to
open the "now playing" album artwork in a seperate window. I really enjoyed having
my library next to a large picture of the artwork, rather than just the preview iTunes 11
gives you in the library view.
I agree.
his is something apple shoud take more serious and let user that want to downgrade their Apps do that in an easy way.
The reasons you want to downgrade can be that there was som functions you are missing in the new version, or the older version is compatible with your printer and the new is not, or maybe you just liked the old version better.
An easy way to downgrade both Apps and Systems is something many are asking for.

I have a 80GB Classic ipod I use on my home computer with Windows XP. I opened iTunes last night but could not open the store. This is the message I recieve. (iTunes could not connect to the store network connection was reset). I can open IE and email so I dont have a network issue other then iTunes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Had to have a rebuild of my laptop....advice needed!
Had to have a rebuild of my laptop....have now lost all my music from my itunes, but I can't transfer back on from my ipod. Also had to register my laptop (same) as another computers, so now no music showing as purchased, though I have. Also have hours of uploaded music from my own purchased, legitimate CDs, but won't transfer from ipod...it says it will erase. So very frustrated....thanks mr technician! PLEASE ....help, advice needed!
I believe that if you do a clean reinstall from your HD's recovery sector (D) or Recovery disks, the hard drive sector C is wiped clean. Everything goes, apps, data, address books, music, pix, viruses

Advice needed on whether to upgrade or not...
I am trying to decide whether to upgrade my operating system from Mac OS X v.10.2.8 but am worried that some applications may not work if I do. I am using Adobe Photoshop 7, Microsoft Office X, Macromedia Dreamweaver MX... I haven't upgraded the OS yet because I'm not technically knowledgeable and it's all a bit over my head! One of the main reasons that I am considering upgrading is that I can't get certain podcasts because I can't get itunes u, because I can't upgrade my itunes because I need OS X v.3 or higher. And I have also noticed that Software Update hasn't found any updates since Jan. 2007 and I'm wondering if this is because there aren't any more updates available for OS X v.10.2.8 because it is old? I would be very grateful for any information or advice. Thanks in advance!
At this point with all of the current complaints of the OS X 10.5 release you might want to wait. Not only are there some issues with 3rd party apps, but currently there are enough issues with Leopard itself that I would suggest holding off until they fix most of the problems. I am finding it hard to troubleshoot if the problem is with the application or with Leopard itself. I figure that since Leopard can't even view JPEG files properly as thumbnails, in cover flow, or even in Preview properly, who knows what else is wrong with it right now.

Your Mac must be able to run OSX 10.6.8. If you can run that OSX then you can run iTunes 11.1.

ITunes says it needs to upgrade but the download never works. What's wrong?
One day I got on iTunes to put some music on my iPod Nano (one of the older versions), and always before when I plugged it in and came up and said it was plugged in, but then it didn't recognize it! This went on for several months, me never being able to put more music on my iPod.
Finally I got the newest Nano for my birthday and I figured it'd work, but the same problem is going on! I've had the brand new iPod for 3 months and it doesn't have ANY music on it!
It does come up and ask if I want to download a newer version of iTunes, that it needs that one to work right (version 8.2 something I think). I go to download it, it takes a while, and then comes up and says the download was unsuccessful, I've tried about 30 times, and it never works.
What is going on?Instead of trying to update iTunes +from within iTunes+, go to Apple's page where you can download the iTunes 8.2.1 installation file -- save the file, don't run it direct from the download. Once downloaded to your computer, then run the installation file.
If that does not fix the problem, then remove the following software from your computer (you won't lose your music): iTunes, Quicktime, and something called "Apple Mobile Device Services". Once you remove those programs, then run the iTunes installer file (from above) again. That will install all three of these programs and should fix your problem. -
I just bought iphone 5 and my itunes says I need itunes 10.7 But when I look for upgrades it says I have the current version of itunes. HELP!
I am so sorry I am frustrating you. This is the first time I have used this community and am leanring as I go. I am not able to see the entire post that you leave, unless I look at it on my phone (email)--I am so sorry. You have no idea how much i appreciate your help. Yes, I see that I can get the later version of OS software, but its not availabe for immediate download. My only options appear to be having it shipped, or going to the store to purchase. And if you know of another way that I can access all of my itunes library music on my new phone withouth using itunes, I would love to hear about it.--thanks and again i am so sorry for frustrating you.

I have two iTunes accounts that need to be merged together
Recently with the purchase of a new iPhone, I created a new Apple ID and a new iTunes account in that setup process. How can I merge the old account with the new account? I have not been able to use the iPhone to purchase items from the Apps Store because it links to the new iTunes account. I have not discovered the method to change that iPhone configuration so I can log on with the original iTunes account.
Since the original iTunes account has $20+ balance from an iTunes card, I need to merge these two accounts. Is that an issue for iTunes store customer support?You cannot merge accounts. But you can change your iPhone to use your old account. Simply go to Settings->Store, sign out of your new account and then sign in to your old account. When signing in to the old account select "Use Existing Apple ID" and not "Create New Apple ID."

I have my own icloud account separate from my family's apple ID for itunes. I need more storage for icloud...do I have to pay a separate $20/ month to get more storage or does the $20 include all members of the plan?

I just updated my iTunes, and I need to delete photos from my iPod 4, and there is a Photo Library that synced to my iPod when i plugged it into my computer, and now it doesnt have the option to delete them off my iPod. How do I get rid of these photos? I have read other questions that say to plug the iPod into the computer and like un-sync it, but I downloaded the new iTunes and it doesnt have a photos tab. iWeb is not working for sending podcasts to iTunes, so I need a new web building tool. What is the closest thing to iWeb that I can use, which also supports podcasts?
There's no reason you can't go on using iWeb for this - with iWeb '08 you have to publish to a local folder (i.e. on your Mac) and then upload the contents of the folder (not the folder itself) to your hosting service: and you have to make sure you enter the new URL in the Publish information or the feed won't work properly; this done, an iWeb podcast should work fine.
Of course there is still the problem that iWeb is not supported and sooner or later a system upgrade may break it. You could look at RapidWeaver: you can make podcasts with that, though the last time I looked into that - which was admittedly some time back - I didn't feel it was ideal for this. There are lots of other podcast creation programs or services around. WordPress is OK but it may be a bit of a steep learning curve: Libsyn is an online service that seems to work reliably. Blogger writes messy feeds but does usually work. Podcast Maker used to work well - I used it myself a few years back - but it rather looks as if it's gone moribund and it may not be reliable with Lion/Mountain Lion, so you would want to check into that. -
I downloaded Imovie to my Ipod touch (I don't have a Mac computer/laptop) so that I can edit a project for school video assignment. I have editted the video, but I can't figure out how to make it go to Itunes. I need it there so that I can put it into a video converter for projection to my class. The problem is, I don't know how to get Itunes to recognize that there is a project made. Imovie (at least the mobile version) has a "share with Itunes" feature, which I found. When I use this feature... nothing happens on the itunes end. Does anyone know why this is and have a solution?
