ITunes download error -100000/corrupted file possible solution

I just would like to acknowledge Kate G back in an older discussion for this simple solution that helped others and I. May not work for everyone, but could for some.
If you have Kaspersky as your primary internet security, then disable the protection under "settings" then in "general settings" temporarily until the download(s) are finished. Also try disabling the firewall just in case. Then re enable everything is once they are finished.
I would assume this could work for other internet security software like Norton or whichever you have.
Hopefully this helps, and if not, then at least it was a try. Doesn't hurt to try.

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not downloading properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

  • ITunes download error -100000

Downloaded an album, and one song is giving me download error - stopped -100000. I've tried to restart the download a couple times, but it runs, pretends it's downloading and then gives me the error. The internet doesn't seem to know what error -100000 is. Anyone here know?
I've downloaded other songs since the error, and this one just hangs out in the Downloads view.

  • ITunes download error "Service "Apple Mobile Device Service"

How do I get past the iTunes download error message: "Service "Apple Mobile Device Service" failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privilege to start system services." ?
I have tried ignoring, trying again, and canceling and reloading.  I most recently downloaded the exe file, then from the download file right clicked to  "run as Administrator" use an HP Pavillion g7 Notebook PC with 64-bit operating system and Windows 7. How can I get past this message?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The section Install missing components may allow you to install Apple Mobile Device Support without removing other components.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

    Thank you.

    Thanks Mohammad - much appreciated.
I also got a response from Apple who said that there was a problem related to fonts and the encryption.xml file
Once we'd removed this we were able to upload the epub no problem.
It's odd that the system seems to say that all is okay when it isn't. We have to rely on guesswork rather a lot using iBook Producer.
Anyway, all sorted now and thank you again for your contribution.
Best wishes and a Happy New Year!

  • Has anyone been able to upload an ibooks file with audio only files (m4a) in it? I keep getting the following error message during the upload in iTunes Producer: ERROR ITMS-9000: "Files of type audio/x-m4a are not allowed outside of widgets.

Has anyone been able to upload an ibooks file with audio only files (m4a) in it? I keep getting the following error message during the upload in iTunes Producer: ERROR ITMS-9000: "Files of type audio/x-m4a are not allowed outside of widgets. then it names the file as an m4p file. Everything works beautifully on the iPad through Preview, and validates through iTunes Producer up until the attempted upload. If you've been able to accomplish this, please let me know how you prepared your audio files. Many thanks.

    Hello Fellow iBook Authors!
Today I received the same error that you all have been discussing.  I tried selecting the DRM
and this did not work for me, though I'm glad it did for some.  Here's what I did as a work-around. . .
Since iBooks Author did not have a problem with Videos, I simply used one of my video programs, ScreenFlow to turn the audio into a video file m4v.  I added an image and extended the length or timing of the image to span the length of the audio file.  Then exported as an .mov.  I then opened QuickTime and opened the file and exported the file to iTunes.
You can use iMovie, Camtasia or any other progam that will allow you to export the audio as a movie file.  Does this make sense?  I hope this helps, at least in the short-term.

  • Trouble downloading ITunes songs; Error -100000

Have been trying to download an album (purchased using a holiday giftcard). While some songs have downloaded successfully, the majority of downloads were interrupted and report the following error: -100000.
Any thoughts on how to fix this? Have also sent off a note to Apple and will post if they send along anything useful.

Install 7-Zip (free), or a free trial of WinRAR, and use one of them to extract the contents of the iTunesSetup.exe or iTunesSetup64.exe installer file, then try installing AppleApplicationSupport.msi as a standalone component. Even if it won't install you may get a more useful error message as to why not.
Alternatively see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for advice on removing and then reinstalling all iTunes related components,

  • Download error -100000

There are many discussion topics here about people having problems with certain tracks that refuse to download from the iTunes Store.  On a desktop machine, the track will download almost completely, then restart 3 times before giving up saying that the file may be corrupt and reporting error -100000.  On iOS devices, you get the "Tap to Retry" error.
Some responses, particularly from Windows users, say that the problem lies in conflict with third party firewall software.
Another suggestion, which applies to Mac users as well, is to delete the .tmp download files.
Both of these suggestions were recommended to me by iTunes support over a period of several days when I was having difficulty with a single track from an album purchased from the iTunes store (Mary / The Great Impression (Deluxe Version) / Sparkadia).  Neither suggestion worked.  Nor did software updates, restarts, clearing caches, deleting preferences or anything else I tried.
My home is entirely an Apple environment except for a Dlink ADSL modem.  So if there is a software conflict, it is more likely to be Apple v Apple or Apple v my ISP.
In the end, after more than a week of frustration, I have found a work-around that worked first time.  I used my iPhone as a personal hotspot and connected my iMac to the internet via the phone, instead of going through my home Airport network, DSL modem and ISP.  Bingo!
I hope this helps anyone suffering the same problem.  Good luck!

I have the same problem. I tried downloading the song using a different computer on a different network without success, so I'm not sure your solution is general. The Apple techs I am in discussions with seem to be unaware of the scale of this problem as discussed on these pages.

  • ITunes song error -100000 (1 problem song, other 13 ok)

I recently bought an album on the iTunes store. 13 out of the 14 songs downloaded fine, however the first song won't download.
I googled error -100000 and found out it could be something to do with conflicting software on my computer, so I attempted to download the song on my iPhone, but it still failed.
Some help threads also suggest deleting the temp files in the download folder, and downloading it again. I have also tried this, selecting both "check available downloads" and "Download past purchases". Neither works. I have tried restarting itunes (obviously).
When it attempts to download, it will get into a continuous loop of going 0%-100% and then back to 0% again. After several attempts it will display the error -100000 citing the song file may be corrupted. As I mentioned, the rest of the album downloaded absolutely fine with zero problems, it's just this one song.
What other steps could I take? I don't perticularly want to spend £0.99 to download the same song from a diferent album if I can help it.

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the entry, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.
(Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.)

  • ITunes Download err -100000

So I just recently bought one of those cheaply awesome $6-50 songs classical music albums, and one of the songs has this weird downloading error (Symphony No. 5 to add salt to the wound). Whenever I try re-downloading it, it "downloads" the file like 5 times. It will download, go to 100%, and start back over again. Then after 5 or 6 times, it tells me the file is corrupted with the error code -100000. I have no clue what to do. Help!

im having the same problem with "not meant to be" by theory of a deadman, but the weird thing is i was able to iCloud the download to my iphone, just not my macbook. i have tried contacting apple about it and was told that it wasnt there experties in the problem. everything ive tried hasnt worked i dont recall even having any kind of "firewall" installed on the computer.... and like u im hoping for an answer that works

  • ITunes download error on the iPad

I bought some videos on iTunes (episodes of 2 TV seasons). Most everything downloaded with no problems but there are 7 that didn't complete and show up on the iTunes download page as "Download error. Tap to retry."
If I follow the directions and tap, the message briefly changes "waiting" then back to "download error. Tap to retry" and a moment later, a dialog box shows up that says "Unable to download episode. <episode title inserted> could not be downloaded at this time."
On the videos app, those episodes showed up but wouldn't play.  I was able to delete the seasons by clicking on the Edit button on the TV Shows page, but still the iTunes Downloads icon shows a "7" badge.
I tried downloading those episodes again but that didn't work.
    Any advice?

I found the answer to my question in another part of this discussion forum.  I'm adding it here in case someone else sees my original post and wants to see the solution.
To get rid of the download error, go to the download page and find the small down-pointing arrow icon next to the "download error. Tap to retry." text.  Put your finger on the down-pointing arrow icon and flick (quick short swipe) to the left.  The down-pointing arrow icon will be replaced with a "delete" button.  Tap the delete button.  Then confirm the delete in the modal popup window.
That's it.  An easy solution, even though it took me many hours to find the answer.

  • Itunes download error message

I recently tried to download Itunes for my computer its a windows 8 64-bit. I downloaded Itunes twice and it won't open at all, anytime I try to open it, there is a message that says "Apple Application Support was not found. Apple Application Support is required to run itunes. Please uninstall itunes, then install again. Error 2 (Windows error 2)
Does anyone know of anyway I can download itunes and this not happen? I have tried everything and nothing has worked.

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR suitable for your PC (there's a 32-bit Windows version and a 64-bit Windows version):
    http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, see if iTunes will launch without the error now.
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)
