ITunes download error 404 - support issue

I'm at my wits end after getting an 404 error message after purchasing music via iTunes but being unable to download it. It says the url cannot be found on the server.
The really frustrating thing is that none of the online support documents cover my problem. I have repaired permissions, rebooted, re-installed iTunes 7 and tried to install it on my other mac, all with the same error message.
How do I contact the iTunes online support guys as there appears to be no obvious link via iTunes or the support pages?
I'm not going to be a happy bunny if I get charged for music I can't download.

there appears to be no obvious link via iTunes or the support pages?
From here:
http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/
select the Download Problems link and if your question isn't answered on that page scroll down to the bottom and use the form to contact Apple.

    Hi!
When trying to download Acrobat Pro XI Student I only get this " http error: 404/support/downloads/dlm/main.jsp " warning. This happens with Akamai and the altervative method too. I've paid it, is this because Adobe hasn't progressed my payment yet?
    Kind regards, xpooler.

Luckily the problem seems to have vanished. I am not sure what happened but I think the reason was one of the browser extensions, thanks for the advice anyway!

  • ITunes download error "Service "Apple Mobile Device Service"

How do I get past the iTunes download error message: "Service "Apple Mobile Device Service" failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privilege to start system services." ?
I have tried ignoring, trying again, and canceling and reloading.  I most recently downloaded the exe file, then from the download file right clicked to  "run as Administrator" use an HP Pavillion g7 Notebook PC with 64-bit operating system and Windows 7. How can I get past this message?

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The section Install missing components may allow you to install Apple Mobile Device Support without removing other components.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Adobe App Manager installs but won't work... "Download Error, Contact Support"

Downloaded the AAM through the creative cloud site, it installs and when run it shows this error message "Download Error, Contact Support."  I then downloaded the AAM as a package from Adobe support.  Before installing it I removed the previous install from my computer.  The program installed again but I recieved the same message.  I cannot download any apps from the Creative Cloud because of this.
I have searched the support pages and cannot find anyone having an error message like this one.

From the Creative Cloud web site, when I start a download of an app within one second the application manager opens and immediately gives me this error message.
I have not been able to download anything or sign in with my Adobe ID (using AAM).  I also get this same error message if I open the AAM from my computer.

Hypesuh I would recommend reviewing both Error downloading Creative Cloud applications - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/error-downloading-cc-apps.html and Creative Cloud app doesn't open and hangs on spinning progress wheel - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-app-doesnt-open.html as it appears both documents are applicable towards the difficulties which you are currently facing.

    Thank you.

    Thanks Mohammad - much appreciated.
I also got a response from Apple who said that there was a problem related to fonts and the encryption.xml file
Once we'd removed this we were able to upload the epub no problem.
It's odd that the system seems to say that all is okay when it isn't. We have to rely on guesswork rather a lot using iBook Producer.
Anyway, all sorted now and thank you again for your contribution.
Best wishes and a Happy New Year!

  • HTTP Error 404/support/download/dlm/main.JSP

When I try to download Photo Shop Elements from my Adobe account I get this error. What is causing this error?

    Welcome to the forum.
An Error 404 usually indicates that the Web site is not responding.
It could be that the Web site is down for repairs, or other maintenance.
It could be that the URL, which has been entered, is wrong for some reason - perhaps an omitted character, or an extra character.
The ISP is having problems with the node connection to that URL.
Exactly what is the URL that you are trying to access?
Good luck, and let us know more please.

  • Itunes download error message

I recently tried to download Itunes for my computer its a windows 8 64-bit. I downloaded Itunes twice and it won't open at all, anytime I try to open it, there is a message that says "Apple Application Support was not found. Apple Application Support is required to run itunes. Please uninstall itunes, then install again. Error 2 (Windows error 2)
Does anyone know of anyway I can download itunes and this not happen? I have tried everything and nothing has worked.

With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR suitable for your PC (there's a 32-bit Windows version and a 64-bit Windows version):
    http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, see if iTunes will launch without the error now.
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)
