ITunes download for Microsoft ME (Millenium Edition)

My sister has quite an old PC which uses Microsoft ME operating system and Works 2000 software. She bought a new iPod and has asked me to download itunes. As she has no broadband this took a significant amount of time, but hasn't worked, with no error messages. I subsequently found iTunes download for Windows 2000 and waited another 3 hours to download that software. Again no luck, and no error message.
Is this a problem that can only be resolved by upgrading the operating system? I really haven't a clue how to do that, if it will work on her old Dell PC and how much it will cost. Please help!

Itunes has never been available for Windows ME. It will not install.

There is no version of iTunes specifically for the Starter edition of Windows. You can try the standard iTunes installation:

but verify that your computer meets the minimum system requirements first. Many devices that come with Starter such as netbooks do not, particularly the screen resolution.

You can download iTunes for your computer from here : www.apple.com/itunes/download
If you want to update your iPhone to iOS 5.1.1 (you can only update to that version as that is only version that is 'signed' by Apple), then if you are on iOS 5+ already on your phone then you can update directly on the iPhone via Settings > General > Software Update.
If you are on iOS 4 (or you can do it this way if you are on iOS 5) then you will need to update via your computer's iTunes (you will need the latest version of iTunes installed on your computer).

ITunes 7.0.2 for Windows Me Millenium Edition

PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I just got my new iPod nano today and am having trouble downloading the iTunes that is compatible with my iPod (Second Generation iPod nano). After I assume I have successfully downloaded it, and after trying to open it, a window comes up with title: iTunes + QuickTime and it's message is "iTunes requires that your computer is running Windows 2000 or Windows XP." Immediately after clicking "OK," another window pops up with the same title saying "iTunes Installer Completed" and forces me to click "Finish" to exit the installer.
I know for the system requirements, iTunes requires Windows 2000 (syestem pack 4 or later) or Windows XP, but I thought that Windows Me and Windows 2000 were the same thing (since Windows Me is the Millenium Edition). Am I wrong? Do I have the wrong system to be compatible with iTunes completely?

Unfortunately, you are wrong. ME was the OS prior to 2000, they are not the same thing. You will not be able to use iTunes with ME. You might want to do a "search" on iLounge.com to see what the alternatives might be for ME & an iPod.
If possible, you may want to consider upgrading your OS as I'm almost postive that Microsoft has indicated they will stop support of ME & 98 with the release of Vista in 1/07.

Pausing iTunes Downloads for another time

Is it possible to purchase and que iTunes downloads from the iTunes store for future date?
The reason I ask is simple. There is a sale on Australian Tv shows in the Aussie store for a limited time, but I am close to my monthly download quota with my ISP. (yeah Aussie ISP's suck)
Can I purchase these now and download in February?
Is there a way to prevent the paused downloads from re starting automatically every time I re start iTunes or my iMac?

During Itunes download for windows 7 64bit, error message says "Service Apple Mobile device" failed to start

During Itunes installation on my Windows 7 64 bit computer.. I get the following message which won't allow installation:
Service "Apple Mobile Device" failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.
This occurred after an itunes update to my computer that produced a corrupted msvcr80.dll file. So I deleted Itunes and reinstalled.

Redo the install, following the below procedure. However, when you re-install Itunes, right click and run the install as administrator. For Win 7, I think you have to hold down the shift key when you right click and then "run as administrator" will be an option.
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Itunes download for Windows 98?

My boyfriend has an ipod shuffle but his computer doesnt have internet access and runs Windows 98. Is there a way for my to download on old version of itunes for him, burn it to a disc for him to use on his computer? Or any other ideas of how he could get itunes on his computer?

There is NO version of iTunes that runs on Windows 98... do google search for "alternate iPod managers"

Volume Logic audio enhancement software has been discontinued and is probably no longer compatible with the latest iTunes. Delete the Volume Logic plug-in from your user account's Library/iTunes/iTunes Plug ins folder.

I am experiencing problems with using my Microsoft Account for billing and purchasing apps in Windows store.
I am using my old WLID that I've created several years ago, and I have obsolete information including my country residence there. Now when I go to
https://billing.microsoft.com, I see that I have 2 profiles:
Personal profile: US
Business profile: Russia.
Now the problem is that I want my personal profile be changed to Russia as well. Having US in the profile makes it impossible to make purchases from Microsoft Store because Store does not allow for changing country when making purchases via PayPal.
Currently I have this information:
I need the Country/Residence information to be changed to Russia. How do I do that?
I am stuck.
How do I change country for my Microsoft Account?
If it's not possible, would I be able to continue using my Microsoft Account with old residence/country information while making purchases through a new Microsoft account where I have specified my current residence?

this post @ Microsoft Answers, I was able to make Microsoft Store use correct information of my current country residence.

To change the Country/region data used for Payment and Billing in Microsoft Store,
Press WindowsKey+W to show Start screen and focus on searching in
Settings.
Type 'region' (without quotes) and open Region dialog box when found.
In the Region dialog switch to Location tab and change the country of choice in the
Home location drop-down list.
Click OK to apply changes and make them effective.
Open Store and press WindowsKey+I to show settings charms then choose
Your account.
In the Your account screen click Add payment method to configure your payment settings that will be used for purchasing apps from Windows Store.
Notice Country/region value has changed.
This country will be specified in Country/residence within Payment and Billing in Microsoft Store app.

I can only comment on the database installation. Oracle has now supported 9i for XP professional (no previous versions will be supported). XP home will NOT be a supported platform for Oracle products.
NOTE: There is a bug with 9i installations that the OUI will fail if the CLASSPATH has been set by installations from previous Oracle installations. Before installing 9i you will need to clear the CLASSPATH and then proceed with your installation. Once the installation is complete you can restore the CLASSPATH with your original settings.

I just purchased a MacBook Air and LOVE it! I also purchased Microsoft Office (Word, PPT, and Excel). I went to www.microsoft.com/getkey and entered my pin to get my Product Key, but now I need to download the softwared. How do I do that? Since the MacBook Air does not have a disc drive, I am unable to insert the disc is came with--so how do I get the software download?

No, there is no 64 bit version that will run on XP.
However if you are prepared to to some hacking, some people have got ot to work.
