ITunes download froze screen, ruined iPhone
iPhone 3G, owned since 8/7/09 with NO problems. Trying to download iTune last night and screen froze. I tried the 8 different remedies I found online but nothing worked. Even saw the comment that Apple would replace iPhone for this problem since it was a known flaw in the software. I figured, no prob, will take in to the shop on Sunday to get it fixed. 7+ HOURS later...lost all my pics (good bye Spain!), contacts...everything! iPhone is toast, too! Warranty only good for 200 DAYS, not even 7 months of use. All the Apple guy could say was "make sure you sync your phone every week so you don't lose anything...". Sigh. When I purchased my iphone from ATT, no one ever said anything about sync-ing phone every week, and there was no manual, just the comment from the ATT guy to "look any questions up on-line". Not helpful if your phone isn't working. Apple should probably have a training session with ATT so that customers get all the info they need, but the Apple should treat customers better when it is their faulty equipment that is to blame.

It may be that you are right, and it may not be the type of technical question that can be given an answer, but it is still a part of someone's experience with Apple and it has a place here.
This is the main Apple website and it should expect to receive all the dealings that people have with Apple, either technical or with Apple staff. It all helps to build a picture of the Apple experience.
The poster was not shouting and swearing, maybe a little frustrated, but not really deserving of such a negative response.

If you have the correct advice for this post which I imagine you do, maybe try putting it a little more gently next time.
I more than anyone appreciate a place where I can get some help with technical things, and a place to hear what others are experiencing, ranting or not, but if I do get a little frustrated at times, I'd hope to get a slightly more gentle response.
Frustration must be expected at times.
The good news is that all this backing up will soon be (already started I believe), automatic and wireless.

Itunes downloaded ringtones vanished from Iphone
When performing app store updates on my Iphone, all my ITunes purchased ringtones disappeared from my Iphone. As well as all but 1 of the songs purchased on my Iphone. I still have receipts for the purchases can I redownload them without paying again?
I downloaded some ringtones from itunes but they won't go into the ringtones folder. I'm using all latest software itunes 10 etc. I've searched forums etc and tried changing m4a to m4r but doesn't work. What's the latest info on this?

ITunes shows white screen for iPhone, allows eject only
Recently restored my phone to factory settings. Connected to iTunes. iTunes shows the device and allows to eject, however to the right there is only a white page. Already tried the following:
reboot of both devices
reinstall itunes
connect device to different computer (same white screen)
reset all content and settings on iphone
I'm running out of ideas. The phone works fine - but I can't sync or restore anything! The only option when I click on the iphone icon in the sidebar is...eject!
Screenshot attached. Strange that the same screen shows up on 2 macbook pro's!I have the exact same problem. I've restored multiple times on two different computers without any luck. This seems to be a brand new issue happening today as I have found multiple threads about this issue...

ITune download does not have Iphone link and it is the 7.3 download
I did not activate my Iphone on my home computer andam wondering if this is the reason I do not have the Iphone link on my I tunes download. Does any one have a solution?

I've tried upgrading my iPhone 4S using iTunes 12.01.26 on 4 different computers at home and at the office:
Macbook Air - OS X version 10.7.5
Macbook Pro - OS X Yosemite
2 PCs running Windows 7 Professional
iTunes downloaded the installer and the installation process seemed to get 90% complete before showing the error, "The iPhone, "iPhone" could not be updated. An unknown error occurred (6)."
The phone is now stuck on the red iTunes logo screen:
How can I get it out of this mode?
I've tried holding the power button and home buttons down for ten seconds, then letting go of the power button, but keeping the home button down for another 10 seconds. I've also tried Reiboot, Wondershare Dr. Fone in desperation to try to get the phone out of this mode. Nothing seems to fix it.
If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.i do that but it keeps getting stuck on the 'preparing to restore i phone' screen for a few mins before coming up with 'unknown error 1603'.

I recently downloaded iMovie on my iPhone 5 and it is telling me to connect to wifi or use itunes to download iMovie well I have done both and it is still not working can someone please help me?

I'm sorry you are having issues with the iMovie app you purchased for your iPhone5.
The first thing I would suggest is to log out of your iTunes Account on your iPhone, turn the iPhone off and then on again, and see if app finishes downloading/updating.
Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Tap on your Apple ID account > Tap Sign Out
If the issues persists, the article below will give you a few more troubleshooting steps:

Try the following steps to resolve your issue, testing the app after each step.
1. Update your device software
Update your device to the latest version of iOS.
2. Check for app updates
Ensure that your apps are up to date:
Open the App Store and tap Updates. If updates are available, tap Update All.
When prompted, enter your iTunes Store account information. App Store will then download and install the application updates.

The simplest way to exit out of DFU mode is to hold down the Home and sleep/power buttons on the iPhone while connected to iTunes. Then just hit the power button as and this should reboot the device as usual.

ITunes Match forces download from iCloud when iPhone is attached to my Mac?
I got iTunes Match just before christmas and I, like a lot of people have been having trouble with the artwork. So I decided to reset my iPhone to wipe all the music off...everything is backed up and I've done this before and it's fixed problems.
My phone is physically attached to my Mac and I go to sync my playlists and I face a screen saying "iPhone can access music in iCloud. Songs can be downloaded and played via wifi" Why am I forced to download off iCloud when it HAS to be easier to sync off my Mac?
The phone point of getting iTunes Match was to add to my music listening experience not to take away from it. Now I have to manually add songs and playlists when before it was just selecting a few tick-boxes and saying sync. Why am I paying for this service?83years wrote:

I'd leave feedback with Apple, as this is a user to user forum so they will not necessary see your comments.
There is a way round adding lots of music onto your phone by USB. I haven't done it personally, so you may want to do a search on here, but I believe that basically you turn off Match on your phone, sync as previously and then turn it back on.
As I say, I haven't tried it myself, so best do a quick check first. -

Downloading music from iTunes library section to my iPhone?
Hi. I've uploaded some of my CDs to iTunes thinking I could then download them to my iPhone to listen to but when I connect my iPhone to iTunes i cannot find the library section anywhere. Can anyone give me advice on this?
You've got those songs in the music part of your computer's iTunes ? Unless you've subscribed to iTunes Match then you will need sync that music to your phone, you won't be able to download it directly on your phone.
You can sync your music to your phone by connecting the phone to your computer and selecting it on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (if you have iTunes 11 then you can enable the sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC) - the phone should show under 'devices' on that sidebar.
Then on the right-hand side of the iTunes screen there should be a series of tabs, one of which is Music :
Select that tab and you can then select which of your computer's iTunes music library to sync to your phone's Music app.

Since downloading ios5 on my iphone 4 a few days ago, the capacity guage in itunes shows "other" as over 21Gb and i can no longer fit any music on my iphone.
How do I get rid of the other stuff?

i previously had 21.97 Gb music, over 6 Gb photos, about 1Gb of apps, and minute amount of audio
now i have no music, 5.4 Gb photos and similar (0.8Gb) for apps and audio. i have deleted heaps of photos and unused apps to try to make space but obviosly this is a much bigger problem. I also created a smaller music folder on itunes to sync to but at present no music is selected for syncing due to the lack of available space.
i have 15Gb icloud account now also which is about half full.
Ive done a little research and heard similar tales but with much smaller other totals than this. Can you help?
i cant update my apps as i get a message saying i do not have enough available space.I had the same problem today and was able to resolve it without having to do a restore or reset. The problem had something to do with my mail accounts. The upgrade reset my mail settings, switching both my gmail and my .mac mail to "archive all mail". I went into the General Settings, disabled that setting, and resynced the phone. The "other" storage allottment dropped back down to less than a gig.
Before you restore or reset, I would try that first. -
Downloaded new iOS for iPhone 5. Now the handset is running hot, keeps freezing on different screens, won't charge on official charger ( only charges on crap poundland one) and battery is loosing 1% every two minutes! I've closed all apps and reset the complete phone but no luck. Any one know what else I can try apart from a new phone?
I have done a factory reset at 45% battery. After the reset it's still hot and at 35% now

I am trying to download whatsapp on my iphone 4. It asks for my apple id and password and when I sign in , it gets me to a page that says redeem ...when I hit redeem it shows I have a $14 balance in my account and asks for a code - I tried entering the itunes card number...it says it has already been used. How do I tap into my account to pay for the app?
