ITunes download gets stuck halfway

I just purchased an album off iTunes, as a first time user. When downloading them, the first 6 went perfectly, but in the middle of the 7th the download just paused. There was no warning or error message, and the little download bar just sat still at about 50% complete. At first I thought it was an internet connection failure (seeing as I am wireless), but it was still connected. I've tried closing iTunes, and restarting the computer a number of times, but still, whenever I open, it brings up the 'to-download' list, showing I've completed the download of the first six - and it then restarts the seventh, only to stop again in the same place.
I would appreciate your help.

Deleting the .itl and rebuilding it will lose date added information. Playlists may be recovered if the .xml file is imported. A better way might have been to temporarily rename the .itl while iTunes is installed, then restore the original .itl after the fact.
For general advice on problems installing iTunes see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Mountain Lion download getting stuck at 79MB w/ no internet connectivity issues

I just purchased Mountain Lion via the App Store but everytime I try to download it, the download gets stuck around 79.4MB and the download time just gets longer and longer without the download actually pausing. Pausing and resuming have the same problem, the file size just goes up to 80+MB before dropping back down to 79.4MB again. I have tried canceling, reopening the App store and re-downloading several times already without success. Please help! I went through Mountain Lion download problems in the forum but I can't find a solution. I'm downloading onto an iMac on a broadband Wifi personal home network and can surf the internet without problems and as quickly as usual. For reference, my connectivity speed at this time is usually enough to download a 300MB file in 15 mins to half an hour.

Trying to update to 10.7 I tunes to windows 7 64 bit and download gets stuck and have to crash the computer to stope download window to try other options-it's been the same all week
Even when I try to download 64bit updated as forums say it gets stuck.
You would have thought it should be a simple update as usual.
    Any advice
    Thanks,

I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

  • Syncing iPad to iTunes is getting stuck and frozen

I am running into a problem when trying to sync my iPad 1 to iTunes. It backs up of but gets stuck on the last stage, "Waiting for changes to be applied". I had been able to sync fine until loading iOS5. Does anyone have any idea how to clear this up?

iOS5 downloads safari browsing data during the sync process. This might be the cause. Go to Settings/Safari/Advanced/Website Data and delete everything.
I suspect this sync bug could be addressed in the upcoming 5.0.1 update.

  • ITunes Update gets stuck

So I need to update to the newest iTunes after updating my iPod, however whenever I attempt to update to iTunes 8 + Quicktime the update starts but quicky freezes up and an error message pops up telling me that update has an invalid signature and that the computer is removing the update. Is there anything I can do to get this to update? Without the updated iTunes, I can't use my iPod (unless I can uninstall what was updated on it) and I am stuck with the song that are on it?
All help is very much appreciated.

After followed all this instructions the problem continues the same.
Honestly, Apple should be doing something, Ipod is an expensive toy and we shouldn't be having any problem
    Completely remove iTunes and QuickTime
Note: Songs you purchased from the iTunes Store or imported from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default and are not deleted by removing iTunes.
    1. Quit iTunes.
    2. Choose Start > Control Panel.
    3. Windows XP and Windows 2000: In Control Panel, open Add or Remove Programs.
Windows Vista: In Control Panel, click Uninstall a program. Alternately, in Classic View of Control Panel, click Programs and Features.
    4. Select iTunes from the list of currently installed programs, then click Remove or Uninstall.
    5. In Windows XP and Windows 2000, when asked if you would like to remove iTunes, select Yes.
    6. In Windows Vista, if your permission is needed to continue, click Continue.
    7. After uninstalling iTunes, do not restart if you are prompted to.
    8. If other entries were present for iTunes remove those as well.
    9. In Add or Remove Programs or Programs and Features, remove any iPod Updater applications that are listed in the same fashion as iTunes was removed.
    10. In Add or Remove Programs or Programs and Features, remove any QuickTime installations that are listed in the same fashion as iTunes was removed.
    11. Restart your computer.
    12. After the computer restarts, open Local Disk C: in My Computer/Computer or whichever disk programs are installed on.
    13. Open the Program Files folder.
    14. Right-click the iTunes folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Note: This folder may have already been deleted if iTunes was successfully removed in steps 1-8.
    15. Right click the iPod folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
    16. Right-click the QuickTime folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
    17. Delete the QuickTime and QuicktimeVR files located in the C:\\Windows\\system32\\folder.
    18. Right-click on the Recycle Bin and on the shortcut menu, click Empty Recycle Bin.
    19. Restart your computer.
    20. Install the latest version of iTunes from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download.
Empty your Temp directory and restart
    1. On the Start menu, click My Computer/Computer (or double-click My Computer on the Desktop).
    2. In My Computer/Computer, open Local Disk C:.
    3. Windows XP and Windows 2000: Open Documents and Settings.
    4. Windows Vista: Open Users.
    5. Double-click the folder that bears your username.
    6. Windows Vista only: If you see an AppData folder, double-click it and skip to step 12. If you don't see an AppData folder, skip to step 9.
    7. Windows XP only: If you see a Local Settings folder, skip to step 12. If you don't see a Local Settings folder, proceed to the next step.
    8. Windows XP and Windows 2000: From the Tools menu, choose Folder Options.
    9. Windows Vista: From the Organize menu, choose Folder and Search Options.
    10. Select the "Show hidden files and folders" button.
    11. Click OK.
    12. Double-click Local Settings or Local folder (If on Windows Vista, you must first double-click the AppData folder). If Windows needs your permission to continue, click Continue.
    13. Right-click on the Temp folder and on the shortcut menu, choose Delete.
    14. In the confirmation dialog that appears, click Yes.
    15. If you are unable to delete the Temp folder, close all programs, especially those in the Notification area (system tray) of the Windows Task bar shown below and repeat step 10.
    16. Restart your computer.
    17. Install the latest version of iTunes from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download.
Clean up iTunes installer files on the computer
You can download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility from Microsoft, which will clean up any leftover installer files that may be causing issues with your current installation. To do this:
    1. Click here first, and read the important information about the software.
    2. Click the "Download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility package now" link on that page to download a file titled msicuu2.exe.
    3. Open the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install it.
    4. On the Start menu, point to All Programs and then click Windows Install Cleanup; the Windows Installer Clean Up Utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    5. Select iTunes from the list and click Remove.
    6. Click OK in the confirmation dialog that appears.
    7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 if you have multiple iTunes entries listed.
    8. Select QuickTime from the list and click Remove.
    9. Click OK in the confirmation dialog that appears.
    10. Repeat steps 8 and 9 if you have multiple QuickTime entries listed.
    11. Click Exit.
    12. Restart the computer.
    13. Install the latest version of iTunes from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download.
    Download QuickTime Standalone Installer
Try downloading and installing the standalone version of QuickTime from http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/. Be sure you download the version that does not include iTunes.
    Disable other conflicting software
In Windows, some background processes can cause issues for other programs and processes. These conflicts can prevent applications such as iTunes and QuickTime Player from installing. See "Using MSCONFIG to troubleshoot conflicts in Windows" for assistance disabling conflicting processes.

  • Music Downloads get stuck in processing phase and don't download?

I'm not sure what's going on with my computer.
Every time I try to download a song in the store, it seems to work fine. And then, when it gets to the processing part at the very end, it gets stuck there.
It never downloads to my computer and it freezes my iTunes, so I have to shut it down using the Task Manager.
Under my Check Available Downloads, it says that all my purchases have been downloaded, and in my Purchase History, it says I have bought those songs.
So why am I not getting them?
(I thought it might be something to do with my anti-virus software, but I'm not sure how to tell)

iTunes temporarily downloads songs into a folder named Downloads. Then at the end, it does that processing stuff and tries to move it into the normal Artist folder. Apparently, it can't accomplish this.
I also use AVG (the free version) and don't have this problem. So it must be something else. If you look in Task Manager when it gets to the "processing" part, do you see any other program using a lot of CPU time?
There are previous posts from users where incorrect windows permissions have caused this, or other programs such as VCast from Verizon were causing a conflict. And sometimes it's just problems with apple servers.
Try this trick from Antzilla525 - maybe that will help.

  • When I connect my iPhone 5 (iOS 7.0.4) to iTunes it gets stuck when syncing on "waiting for items to copy"

    My iPhone 5 running iOS 7.0.4 gets stuck on "waiting for items to copy" when syncing to my iTunes (version 11.1.4). I've tried;
    quiting and restarting iTunes,
    updating iTunes,
    restarting my computer,
    restarting my iPhone,
turning off iCloud on my iPhone,
restoring my iPhone from a previous back-up,
disabling "automatically sync when this iPhone is connected" and
just leaving it alone for three hours to see if it would finish syncing
But none of these things have worked... I'm not sure what else to try. My iPhone suffered an error about three days ago when trying to update to the new iOS update and went into recovery mode. I had to restore from an old back-up and that is when my troubles began. However, I was previously (before the crash) having an issue where whenever I connected my iphone to my computer it would delete all my playlists. I'm not sure if any of that is relevant.

  • Download got stuck halfway

I purchased the movie 'Six Days, Seven Nights'. The download got stuck at 591.1 Mb. I have purchased a song since then that downloaded with no problem. I have iTunes on line in the last 12 hours and I keep it connected untill this movie file is downloaded.
I tried to delete the item and repurchase it. I tried to restart the download, I tried with restarting my computer.
Clearly my iTunes 7 believes that the file will download eventually while in fact it is not coming from the server.

    Hi Luke,
Just checking - when you say you tried to restart the download did you use iTunes > Store > Check for purchases...
I used this today and found tracks that I didn't even realise I hadn't downloaded so the option does work.

  • My After Effects Download gets stuck on 52%

Hi, I am currently installing the After Effects CC Trial on Creative Cloud, the download has been fast and fine up until now. It is stuck on 52% and has been for about half an hour, I tried to cancel it, and reinstall it but it is still getting stuck on 52%!
    Thanks

Devond72433482 I would recommend reviewing the installation logs for the After Effects update which is failing to apply.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the installation log files at Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC.  You are welcome to post any specific error messages you discover to this discussion.

  • Why does my ITunes now get stuck when it can't find the album art?

I've noticed since yesterday when I bought my new IPod Touch my ITunes on my computer gets stuck when it can't find the album art for some music I have. It gets to that album and won't do anything, won't let me skip it or anything ... Anyone else having similar issues and if so any workaround?
