ITunes downloaded movies' quality question..

Hi everyone.
I just got me a Fifth Generation, 30GB iPod, and I can say, I am really satisfied with it. I synced all my songs in it, and a month from now, I am planning to buy an AV kit for it, for me to be able to watch all my iTunes bought movies in my 37" HDTV, and therefore, making it an advantage for me to just sync all the movies in my iPod instead of buying a hard copy DVD. What bugs me, though, is will the quality be really comparable to those of the DVD's once I plug and watch all my movies into my HDTV, and will the sound be clear? I am not so worried on the photos, for I am aware that it depends on their size. However, the movies are really posing a major question if I must or must not buy movies from iTunes, or just convert my DVD's to MP4 format.
To those who had already tried hooking up their 5G iPod into their Hi Def's, your help will be more than appreciated.
P.S., how long will it take me to download a single, full length movie from iTunes?
Again, Thanks.

I don't have Hi-Def but the quality is excellent on a 23-inch analog set.
I have 1.5 Mbps DSL and I download a 2-hour movie in approximately 2-1/2 hours.

Why do my itunes downloaded movies get stuck during streaming when my other accounts, i.e. netflix and amazon prime have no problems?

Is their really no solution to this problem? That would be really disappointing.

I wanted to move this downloaded movie on to the hard drive, but it will only play through itunes and will not play on the hard drive. Has anyone got any advice as to how I can do this. The movie is on the hard drive but will only play through my computer. Thsanks

Movies purchases via iTunes will only play in iTunes or on an iOS device.

  • How can i burn an itunes downloaded movie to dvd?

I have purchased movies from itunes, downloaded them and can only burn them to data DVD...which is useless in a DVD player.  How can I burn these movies to DVD so that I can view them on a DVD player?

You are not licensed to burn any iTunes video products, regardless of whether it's to a data DVD or a playable DVD.
See the iTunes Terms & Conditions, Usage Rules v.   "(v) You shall not be entitled to burn video iTunes Products or tone iTunes Products."   Additionally, you are only licensed to use iTunes products on iTunes authorized devices, which DVD players are not.

  • Can one add subtitles to Itunes downloaded movies without CC?

I recently downloaded a movie in french on Itunes that did not have closed captioning. Is there anyway I can add (french) subtitles to the film? I am learning french and I need to read the titles to fully understand the dialogue. Thanks!

Hold down the option key while starting iTunes, then select library.  Your library is stored in your Home > Music > iTunes > iTunes Library.itl file
iTunes can be picky about mp3 formatting and not all mp3s files are created the same.

  • Itunes downloaded movie won't run anymore

I upgraded my Macbook from Leopard to Mountain Lion and then upgraded iTunes.  Now when I download a movie off of the iTunes store and try and play it, the error message comes up that says:  This movie requires QuickTime, which is not supported by this version of iTunes.  What is going on here!!!?

I am having the same problem right now and I can't seem to find an answer, I really wish I could help you :/

  • Itunes downloaded movie won't play

I've searched the forum but can't find a relevant solution. I purchased and downloaded a movie through iTunes, but when I try to play it I just get a black screen. The controls appear, and I can see screens in the chapters, but it won't play. I deleted and re-downloaded it twice to no avail.

  • Can iTunes downloaded movies be burned to DVD

When you purchase a movie from iTunes store, can that movie be burned to a DVD for viewing on a regular TV via a connected DVD player.
Or is the movie limited to view only in iTunes and iPod....???
Because I just purchased and downloaded my first movie from iTunes and can't figure it out.
If we can make music CD's why not movie DVD's...?

can that movie be burned to a DVD for viewing on a regular TV via a connected DVD player.
    No.
Or is the movie limited to view only in iTunes and iPod....?
    Those and iPhones.
If we can make music CD's why not movie DVD's...?
Because the same music can be purchased from a retail store in an unprotected form. Movies purchased through iTunes and from retail stores contain two different DRM models; DVDs burned on a computer don't contain copy protection.

  • Why is itunes downloading movies again?

I have a digital copy of E.T and Toy Story Toons - Hawaiian Vacation downloaded and in my itunes library. Both are downloaded and playable from start to finish.
I have opened iTunes and it's trying to re-download both movies again. 3.65gb for ET and 214mb for toy story.
    Anyone got any ideas why?

I have been experiencing the same problem, and unfortunately sanfranciscotx's suggestion doesn't address or resolve the issue.
iTunes is behaving inconsistently.  There are podcasts for which I have selected the "Download All" option and it only downloads new podcasts that have been released since the last time it was checked, regardless of how many podcasts were released in that time, without downloading old podcasts.
In another case, the "Download All" option is selected, and it works as I would expect (the above scenario) for some time, but then one week it will start downloading a bunch of older podcasts as the original poster has mentioned.
I am running iTunes 10.5.3, so I'm lead to believe the issue lies with the server where the podcasts are stored or the podcast feed and not with iTunes.

  • ITunes downloaded Movies & TV Shows to iPhone

OK - so I downloaded two recent "The Daily Show with John Stewart" 6/26/07 and 6/28/07 with the intention of watching these on my iPhone during lunch breaks.
I guess I was assuming too much as I find they will not sync to my iPhone.
I saw no notice on iTunes that these videos cannot be sync-ed to iPhone. In fact I find there's nothing in the iTunes store that alerts me to this issue.
If I'm missing some important piece of inside knowledge here I'd sure like to hear back from other iPhone users.
My general question for help is where in iTunes can I determine if a downloadable video, podcast, music, TV Shows, etc can or cannot be sync-ed to my iPhone.
I feel cheated by Apple at this time, but will retract this feeling if somehow I've missed reading some fine print on the iTunes Store.
    Thanks....

There's no reason I can see that they won't sync.
Plug your iPhone into the computer and open iTunes if it doesn't open for you.
Select the iPhone in the left hand column
    Click on the Video tab
Pull down to "All unwatched" or something like "3 most recent unwatched" and click on selected TV shows then select "The Daily Show..."
Once you're done you'll probably need to resync. Click the Apply button in the lower right hand corner to do this.
    Hope that helps!

  • HT1304 Viewing iTunes downloaded movies in my iPad?

I have an original iPad and am trying to play digital copy movies that I have downloaded from the cloud. I cannot find out where to play back the actual movie once it is downloaded.  Do I need a separate app to watch as I have searched everywhere an cannot find the playback location?

If you have downloaded them directly on your iPad from the iTunes store app or synced them from your computer's iTunes then they should be in the built-in Videos app :
If you can't find them in there then have you got a film age rating set in Settings > General > Restrictions that is hiding them ?

  • Itunes downloaded movies keep freezing during playback

and i have to keep pressing play every few seconds

    Hi mate
Sorry about the lack of information but I must admit that I am not the best on computers but I am trying to learn. The best way to describe what is happening is this -
I download videos from sky player or a sharing site and it downloads fine as I have done since January. When I try to watch the movie it will start fine but after several minutes of watching it the screen freezes (only for a nano second) and then starts again. There does not seem to be a problem when I watch a DVD just via this way.
Now trying to answer your questions, I currently use windows media player as I am on windows 7.
I have attached my diagnostics report about my system if that helps below:-
