ITunes Downloads Keep Starting Over

Oftentimes, when a download of mine gets interrupted due to my unstable Internet connection, iTunes frequently chooses to start over completely instead of picking up where it left off. As a result, I'm forced to waste several gigabytes of Apple's bandwidth every week as I attempt to successfully complete my downloads. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

I have the same problem. It seems once a movie or tv show has a problem, it will never "complete" the download. It gets all the way to the end and then inexplicably starts over. Sometimes it says "processing" and then starts over. Frankly, I find there are more quirks with the iPad than my Android tablet. Just saying. Amazon's system, cloud player, and movie rentals blow iTunes out of the water.

  • Downloads keep starting over?!

To start, my itunes is comletely current and everything else works just fine. My problem is that whenever I make a purchase of a large download (TV series or Movie) if my wireless internet gives out for a few seconds, instead of it just pausing and continuing the download from the cutoff point, it restarts the whole download.
It's pretty frustrating on half gig files to start over 80% of the way through. Can someone give me any info on what i can do to solve the problem?

  • ITunes downloads keep restarting

I am trying to download an album from the iTunes store directly from my iPhone 4S.  Half of the tracks downloaded successfully, while the other half are giving me problems.  Each remaining track downloads about 50% and then restarts back from 0%.  It keeps happening over and over.  Anyone have a fix for this?

Day 2.  Up to 5 wifi networks.  iTunes downloads reset, and keep starting over on my ipad:  NOT on my iPhone.  I have 7.02 on both.  I bought the ipad because I do a lot of traveling.  Looks like I'll watch movies on my iPhone, and use the ipad for a drink tray until this gets fixed.

How do I delete everything in my iTunes Library and Start Over?

Do you mean delete the entries in the library and delete the media, or just the library entries?
Why? What problem are you trying to solve. We may have better approaches to offer.

  • ITunes Match Songs Keep Starting Over

I've been using iTunes Match since it first released and absolutely love it! However, I've been experiencing a strange thing the last couple of months and it's happening more frequently. I haven't changed any settings or anything - it's an issue that just started out of the blue.
I keep all my music in the cloud and stream it on my iMac. Particularly my playlists. Sometimes, right in the middle of playing a song, it will stop the music and put the song back at the beginning. Out of nowhere! All of a sudden the song will stop, I look at iTunes, and the play marker will be at the beginning of the song, and it's stopped. One particular song I couldn't even get through it because it kept stopping it and I had to start the song over and over until I just skipped it. I thought with the new Yosemite the issue might be fixed, but it's continued from the previous version into this new OS. I've never had that problem before songs in the cloud or playlists in the cloud, but this has happened a number of times over the last few months.
My internet connection is great (50mb download) and it's not cutting in and out. I thought that might be the issue because the songs in the cloud will just stop, as if the internet cut off the song, and then iTunes will put the marker at the beginning.
    Any thoughts?

  • How do I delete my itunes account and start over?

I've had it with trying to get help with removing apps from my previous purchases.  My son downloaded some questionable apps and now they show up on all my family's devices under "Purchase".  I would like to just abandon the old account and create a new account to start over.
I deleted the itunes install on my PC and reinstalled thinking I could then set up a new itunes account, but then my previous account autopopulated my itunes library.  How do I stop this so I can set up another account?

You cannot remove apps from previous purchases.
All purchases will always be tied to the accoutn from which they were purchased.  All apps will always have to be updated using the account from which they were purchased. You would need to authorize your computers for the old account as well.
I would not start a new account.  This generally causes problems.
    Hide the apps.

  • How do you delete your itunes account and start over?

How do you delete your itunes account that you registered with and start over?

Delete the credit card information from the account and let it go dormant or you can contact iTunes through the expresslane and have them disable the account. To change your itunes and iphone over to a different account, first go to appleid.apple.com and create a new account then sign out of itunes on your computer and sign back in using the new account. Then, sign out of you phone's stored apple ID and sign in with your new apple ID.(Settings>Store>Tap your apple ID and choose "sign out".

  • Ipod keeps starting over

I use my ipod in my car and when i listen to a pdocast, everytime i turn my car on it has started over! I might be 50 minutes into it but the next day it is at the beginning. Or when i put my list on shuffle, when i get in my car the next day it has gone to the first song again

This is not the iPod forum nor the iTunes for Windows forum. You should post this question in the appropriate forum. The forum list is here.

  • Why does my iPod app keep starting over from the beginning??

I have noticed lately that my iPod app seems to start over and play ALL songs on my phone from the beginning nearly every time I plug my phone into my car stereo.
I plug my phone into my car stereo and listen every day on my work commute. As such, it's very important that the music stay on the same position between the times when I'm in my car. For the most part it's been fine, even on 4.0.1, unless I rebooted the phone or did a spring board respring, or otherwise killed the iPod app from the multitask app list.
However this past week, it's been starting over from the beginning (I was playing songs from a playlist and it starts over from the beginning of ALL songs) nearly every single time I connect it to my car stereo. I have not been listening to the music between times in the car, nor have I even opened the iPod app or killed the process from the multitask bar.
This is absolutely maddening. No changes have been made to the phone in the past couple of months, other than a few App Store app updates here and there. This just started really being a problem in the past week. What could be causing this?

Dont have that problem but i have two tips:
1 Other ipod/iphone apps: they are often the problem, i had an alarm clock and that blocked the whole ipod app, so check if other apps dont use songs to wake up or anything else..
2 try to leave the ipod app trough the multitasking instead of pressing the home button?

  • Why does my iTunes download keep restarting

Hi, I'm trying to download a movie to my iPad from iCloud that I have already purchased - it downloads the full file (I assume, looking at the file size), but right at the end the download just starts again!! So I don't have a file to watch and the download is just endlessly downloading. Is this a known issue? I've never had it before, I guess I usually just stream though. Any ideas?
I'm on latest iOS and it's an iPad 3.
    Thanks!
    Matt

When you say store owner, was it an apple store or a third party store?

  • How can i completley wipe my iTunes library and start over?

I messed up my library and by mistake re-named many songs with one title.. also have many 2x or 3x songs.. my itunes is a mess!
How can i completely erase all the songs and start with a new itunes (and then i'll download my past purchases and my files and so on...). I have the latest version of itunes.
    Thank you in advance!

    Delete the entire /Music/iTunes/ folder.
Make sure you have a backup of all your media files (the /Music/iTunes/iTunes media/ folder).

  • HT3819 My new Apple TV works fine but turns off Home sharing at regular intervals. This requires me to re-enter my itunes password and start over again. It is not my computer. I've checked and home share is still on in itunes. Any advice on where I should

I just installed Apple TV. Works fine but turrns itself off at regular intervals of about 30 minutes. This requires me to re-enter my Apple ID and re-start all over again. Wjen I check iTunes on my computer, home sharing is still turned on. THis leads me to think the problem is in how I configured Apple TV on my HDTV. Any advice on where I should look?
    THanks in advance.

I have had no luck. After an hour with phone tech support I have re-installed the current Apple TV software update., re-booted the entire system three times., checked each of my two Airport Express's.,unplugged and re[plugged in every cable,  ad infinitum, ad nauseum and still no luck. I have also decided iTunes 11 *****. Not near as intuitive especially with regard to moving stuff around between my playlists, etc.
Alright guys, is this a problem because of iTunes 11? Is Apple releasing stuff before adequate debugging? Did Steve take his high standards with him?
