ITunes eats my computer
Whenever I access the iTunes store, the homepage loads without a problem. If I try to browse for music, I do not have any problems either. Once I click a link from the browse menu or the homepage, iTunes immediately starts using 100% of my processor (which is a 1.4 gHz Pentium). The page that I tried to click on will not load. It sits there and says "Accessing iTunes Music Store", but never loads the page. Anyone else having this problem? Anyone know how to fix it?
Which view are you using to view your music in iTunes For Windows?
If using the Cover Flow view, it uses more memory than other views.

This is a sad story. Until two days ago I was only a PC owner. That's sad enough, but here's the rest of the very sad story. I had added about 3,000 songs to my iTunes library and recently purchased about 38 on iTunes. My computer would not burn the songs on a CD so my son was helping me. He first tried to back-up my tunes and ended up making them disappear, all of them. Now my playlists show up multiple times in iTunes but all the song files "cannot be found".
We tried to recoup them every which way recommended on the Net, to no avail. And for some strange reason, my PC won't do a restore previous to 4 days ago. Just at the height of all this sadness, my husband bought me a brand spanking new born iMac. Yes! Tonight I 'completed' an album, the only songs of course that I have on this new computer. I burned all 18 songs in no time onto a CD. Yes again!
Now here's my question. I have a lot of my old tunes on my ipod. If I plug it in to sync with iTunes to transfer my newly purchased songs, will it eat all my songs up, or leave them there and just add the new ones? Here's hoping!
Edit: I need to clarify. I think I posted in the wrong place because I'm not using my old PC any more, or Windows. Will my new iMac recognize my iPod...how do I get it to?

Connect your iPod to your new computer (Macs can read Windows formatted drives so it should recognise your Windows formatted iPod without any trouble). If it is set to update automatically you'll get a message that it is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press "Cancel". Pressing "Erase and Sync" will irretrievably remove all the songs from your iPod. When your iPod appears in the iTunes source list change the update setting to manual, that will let you use our iPod without the risk of accidentally erasing it. Check the "manually manage music and videos" box in Summary then press the Apply button. Also when using most of the utilities listed below your iPod needs to be enabled for disc use, changing to manual update will do this by default: Managing content manually on iPod and iPhone
Once you are safely connected there are a few things you can do to restore your iTunes from the iPod. There are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve music files and playlists from your iPod. I use Senuti but have a look at the web pages and documentation for the others too, you'll find that they have varying degrees of functionality and some will transfer movies, videos, photos and games as well. If you have any iTunes Music Store purchases the transfer of purchased content only from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
There's also a manual method of copying songs from your iPod to a Mac or PC. The procedure is a bit involved and won't recover playlists but if you're interested it's available on page 2 at this link: Copying Content from your iPod to your Computer - The Definitive Guide
Keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync. I would also advise that you get yourself an external hard drive and back your stuff up, relying on an iPod as your sole backup is not a good idea and external drives are comparatively inexpensive these days, you can get loads of storage for a reasonable outlay: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive -

I am trying to move my ITunes from one computer to another. I downloaded ITunes on my new computer and loged in with my account information. Then I pluged my IPod into the comuter and imported all my songs. I thought that everything would come over but none of my apps did. I want to synce my IPod up with my new computer how do I do it?
Backup everything to an external hard drive with this User Tip.
Use the same process to clone the library into a new empty iTunes folder on the new computer.
Deauthorise the old box if you don't need to access protected content on it any more.
Use SyncToy from time to time, and in particular before every iTunes update, to keep the backup up-to-date.

Installed latest itunes update and computer tried to burn a playlist to CD and realized computer no longer recognizes my CD/DVD drive. After doing some data mining, found out from community this is an long standing APPLE problem- which doesn't get much tech support in terms of fixes. I have an HPPavillion DV6 64 bit, Windows 7 OS . After reading an earlier complaint from 2009 in the support community, I ran diagnostics from ITunes which gave the following result. Can someone please help? (I'm not enough of a techie to know what I'm doing or how to locate /reinstall CD drivers. I am searching for driver disc but cannot locate.)

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -

I deleted an audiobook from Itunes on my computer, emptied my trash, they attached Iphone 5s to computer to sync computer to Iphone thinking that by deleting the audiobook from Itunes, the audiobook would then be deleted from my Iphone. I have synced my iPhone numerous times and some of the memos in "Voice Memos" on my iPhone wont go over to my iTunes program on my computer. I have a folder titled "Voice Memos" on my iPhone and one of the same name on iTunes on my computer. But after I sync I only get 6 out of the 9 voice memos on my iPhone.
How do I get the rest (or all) of the memos from my iPhone copied to my computer?

Correct. it does not magially appear in other places. It will only be where you put it.

Correct as well. Iphone will sync with one computer at a time. Syncing to another will erase the current content.
You need to copy everything ( itunes library/contacts/pics/calendars/files/docs) from the old computer, or your backup copy of the old one, to the new one. -

My matched songs in iTunes on my computer show all the artists, but most artists do not show up in Music on my iPad or iPhone? I recently fixed the song titles coming back from Match update changed to Track ** by going thru every song's info (command i) and typing in the song title manually (fortunately I had a hard copy of all my song titles and artists and only had about 160 songs to do) and that fixed the problem. Now, both the song titles and artists show in my iTunes, but NOT on my ipad and iphone Music (There are a few that show up). I tried to test my "re-typing artists" into info manually on a few, but it didn't work. I also tried adding "Single" or "None" to the albumn title, but no go. Any suggestions?

As you can see, all of the errors point to an issue with the security software on the computer. Temporarily disable that software or completely uninstall it. -

I just got a new macbook pro. How do I get the 900+ songs that I took off of cds into iTunes on my computer from my iPhone. I had no problems syncing the music I had purchased from iTunes. I have tried to sync it using iTunes match, this did not work. I would like to have access to my full library without going into the user profile of my old computer, which is on my new computers hard drive. I would like to eventually delete the old profile so that I have more space on my hard drive.
