ITunes erased all my music while i was listening to some songs using this program
Hi, people.
I'd really appreciate if you'll help me.
I have an ipod touch 4. It was connected to my computer so that it was possible to play music with Itunes right from the device. Everything was fine when suddenly playback stopped. I switched to iTunes and saw that:
1. all songs below the last played track are marked with .
appears if you try to play any previously played songs.
In fact, i can't play ANY song at all.
2. my ipod now has 21 Gb of free space instead of 2 (i had 19 Gb of music...)
What i'd done already:
1. opened a "Music" app. Empty.
2. tried to simply synchronize the device. The only thing changed - itunes showed those 19 Gb of audio. But tracks were still unplayable.
However, Explorer and iFun Box both show that 21 Gb are still free.
3. succesfully uploaded one song again. It can be played in itunes and ipod
Another info that might be useful:
1. i wasn't using an "auto-sync" function. Only manual updating
2. all things haven't been moved or even touched (ipod, laptop, cabel)
3. i don't have a file named "it.tmp" so https://discussions.apple.com/message/7790048#7790048 is useless.
4. itunes version is 11.01
There is no backup file with music so i really hope that there is some way to restore it =(
And anyone knows, what the **** happened? o_O
And no ideas? =(
Is my problem that unique and strange?

It's not crap at all.
It's not that simple. For example, I've 3500 songs on my MacBook but don't want them all on my phone, so I have to manually select each song again???
There has to be a solution.
Why not simply make a playlist with the songs you want on the iPhone?

Please If someone succeeds in making me understand as I must do for decontrolling my iPod immediately answer me.They have just given me this iPod and it has immediately jammed, the screen is open on the music that I was listening and any key serves to move it.

You sorry for mine bad english.If Resetting the iPod isn't much help, try connecting to computer and restore the iPod.
Connect iPod to computer or Mac
Open iTunes and let it synchronize.
Press the Restore button. (Note: Make sure you backed up all your data before clicking "Restore". Any unsaved data will be lost forever.)
Your iPod should be running as good as new after the restore. -
My itunes erased all my music, how can i get it back?
After i imported new music from a cd, I synced my iphone with itunes on my computer. I've done this before with no problems but this time after I ejected my iphone, all my music, videos and everything was erased from itunes on my computer. how do i get it back? Do I sync my iphone with the computer or will it erase the music on my phone too?
Use the backup you made before installing any new software on the computer.

I was just have difficults in different things on my ipod touch 4th gene now that I have ITune Match and it not being able to update the iOS 6.1.5 and as to not sure of what I can do to get it to update and get all my songs back. Because right now I have at least 20 or 30 songs that I cant play now and I'm not sure why. I'm not even able to click on the songs and I wanted to see if there was a way to fix this without restore my ipod and starting over.

Itunes erased all music and now wont sync
I was syncing a song to my iPhone like I always did, and then when I checked my iPhone, the song was all distorted with no vocals. When I played it on iTunes, the song was fine. So then I tried to sync it again, and the song wouldn't show up on the device. So then I tried syncing again and iTunes erased ALL my music. Everything's gone yet it says it's there. I checked on the memory space and it shows the same amount of GB left it had when I had all the songs in. But they won't show up on the Music app. Now every time I try to sync, it starts transferring purchases which took 30 minutes for 40 apps and now only says that it's transferring 18 apps.
Wth is happening with iTunes and my device? How can I fix this? It's really annoyingMine did the same thing!!! I lost all of my music and my playlists and nothing shows up on my phone. It's getting really annoying and I wish someone would explain what the heck is going on.

My iPod Touch is te 4th generation with iOS 4 only... The desktop that it used to connect with was broken and I couldn't update my iPod touch as all content is linked to the iTunes on that broken PC. My seven year old mac recenetly crashed and my hard drive was deemed "unrecoverable", so in an effort to AT LEAST save my music from my iPhone I tried using iTunes match. When I went to switch it on a warning popped up saying that if I enabled it, it would erase all my music from my device, so I clicked cancel.
Now all my music is deleted anyway.
I have tried going into iTunes on my iPhone and looking under the "Purchased" tab to redownload it, except that that folder is empty too.
Is there anyway I get my music back??do you know if anyone at Apple actually reads these strings and attempts to solve these issues???

Hello, my old pc ran vista o.s. and the mother board died but the hard drive was good. I got a new system running windows7 and installed old hard drive to recover pictures and other data. How do I get my itunes and all my music back up and running.

i downloaded itunes it wasnt working correctly so reinstalled it would it erase all my music if i try to download more music on itunes
Reinstalling iTunes hould not delete you music files. However, you never know, Things go wrong sometimes. I would back up your music just in case.

After "Restoring iTunes Library backup" it wont link to the files in the iTunes folder. I've followed the procedure as described, and the iTunes folder is in the correct location. iTunes lists all my music correctly (albeit with no artwork), but can't locate any of the files.
I've been restoring my iTunes folder from a backup hard drive to a new computer on which I've downloaded the latest iTunes (10.7). If this is a newer version than the one I backed up with could this be the problem? (I had the latest (to my knowledge) iTunes when I backed up the folder about 3 weeks ago, was this version 10.7?)
Or is the version of iTunes (within recent updates) not an issue when restoring a library?

The general method of use is to download the script to a folder of your choice, e.g. your Desktop, Downloads folder or create a folder at ...\iTunes\Scripts. Select a playlist or highlight some tracks in iTunes and then double-click on the script to execute it. If no specific tracks are selected the script will try to work with all tracks in the current playlist. Some scripts offer a choice of track by track confirmation of changes or fully automatic processing of the selection. Many of the scripts can optionally display a progress bar while running.
You are strongly advised to backup your entire library, or at the very least the iTunes Library.itl file, before use. Test the behaviour of your chosen script on a small group of files first to make sure it does what you want before applying it to large numbers of files.
Most builds of Windows will execute *.vbs scripts when you double-click them. If that doesn't happen then you might need to visit the Add/Remove Programs or Programs & Features control panel to enable the Windows Scripting Host. I can track down details if you have issues.
Backing up and restoring data is an area that is often glossed over. Most people don't try to learn much about it until they've lost something important. (Me too )
If your iTunes library was in the usual layout then normally copying the whole iTunes folder from the User's Music folder in the old computer to the User's Music folder in the new one will usually work fine. Ideally this is done before iTunes is installed so that there is no empty library to replace, and all settings are picked up from the old library. This post contains more details.

Where is your music erased from? Your iPhone? Is it still on iTunes? I will assume both are true and therefore advise the following (but do not do this if your iTunes music is gone):

All of the photos and videos should have been imported to the computer as you would with digital camera photos/videos. In that case, they would be backed up to the computer and you could resync them if you wanted to. The camera roll is not intended to be a storage location since any problem with the phone could cause you to have to restore the phone and doing so risks you losing the photos as you have seen. If the phone was backed up while these photos were on it, you should be able to restore to that backup, however you would lose anything you have added since then.
