ITunes error 0x80090318?

How do I fix the iTunes error 0x80090318? I keep trying to access the iTunes store on my windows computer but an error message with code 0x80090318 always comes up.

Hello Dieusola,
After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help in this situation. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice concerning iTunes issues:
Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4123
Symptoms
You may notice the following symptoms on your Windows PC after installing the iCloud Control Panel, iTunes 10.5 or later, or Safari 5.1 or later:
iTunes is slow to respond.
Windows is slow to respond.
iTunes stops responding when backing up or syncing with an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
Some processes installed by iTunes are using up a lot of resources in the Windows Task Manager.
Connecting an iOS device causes iTunes to quit unexpectedly.
iTunes Store displays an "error 0x80090318" alert.
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities.

I just fixed this problem last night. I hopped around a few threads here and found the answer but of course now I can't find it to give you the exact link. But I think I can walk you through it. You need to put your ipod into "Disk Mode". Plug it into the USB port, toggle hold on & off. Then press & hold center and top of the wheel at the same time for about 5 seconds. As soon as the apple appears, release and press the center and bottom of the wheel at the same time. When you see a check mark in the center of the screen release - that means you are in disk mode. When I did that suddenly iTunes recognized my ipod again (4 months later!!). I updated and everything was fine. I didn't even need to restore which is what I was trying to do. Good Luck!!

  • I keep getting an unknown error 0x80090318. Itunes will not connect.

Whenever I start or plug in my Iphone for sync or updates or if I just start I tunes I get this unknown error 0x80090318 can not connect to internet. All of my other programs connect fine. My connection is wifi. I have not tried a hard wire connection yet. (That wouldn't help when I was on the road with the laptop.)

    Error 20, 21, 23, 26, 28, 29, 34, 36, 37, and 40
These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. Use the steps to troubleshoot security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See the steps under the heading "Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store." If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.
The "device may need service" means a hardware problem. In that case make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • Cannot connect to iTunes store unknown error(0x80090318)

cannot connect to iTunes store unknown error(0x80090318)

This solved my problem; maybe it would fix yours too: Uninstall iTunes 11 and all the applications that were installed with it. Afterwards, install iTunes 10 instead.
Make sure to delete the library folder created by iTunes 11 in C:\Users\[username]\My Music\iTunes before launching the older versions of iTunes. Otherwise you would receive an error indicating that the programme cannot start.

  • HT1420 how i can solve error 0x80090318 ??

hi,my personal os in my pc is windows 8,i inestall latest version of itunes but my itunes cant connect to itunes store,i have a real problem with this
every time i got the message error 0x80090318
    some times get this
"make sure youre connection is active and try again"

Sadly, it hasn't worked for me, but thanks for the advice.  I'm looking at a different theory:  can anyone explain why itunes 11.1 is trumpeted as 64-bit, but task manager declares itunes to be 32 bit and gives it a x86 file path?  Is my problem that Windows 64 architecture keeps finding itself running up against 32 bit installation?
I've tried a cleanup of Windows Installer (www.support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall) but I keep getting the problem; no access to iTunes Store.

  • Itunes error

when i try and open itunes on my laptop i keep getting the error message Itunes new library and it wont let me open it. I've tried repairing it on control panel and i've also tried installing a newer version. Nothing works.
    Any ideas?
    Cheers

Well, I've been the victim of curious and unsolveable iTunes errors, too, but not the same as what you describe. I suspect it had something to do with updating my computer with an external drive/iPod mounted. Or it was just one of those funny little bugs from Apple. You might try backing up, repairing permissions, repairing the start-up volume, and resetting the PRAM.
And if that doesn't work or you already tried that, well... Have a good one!
That's a quote from my favorite cancelled cartoon show, Futurama. Bender says that to Zap Branegan as he is about to get pulled out a breech in the hull into the infinity of space. Seems like it may apply to your situation, too.....

  • ITunes update shows runtime error R6034/iTunes error 7/Windows error 1114. iTunes tells me to reinstall but I've uninstalled/restalled and get same error messages.

After iTunes update I see this - Runtime error R6034 "application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly".  ThenUninstalled then I also get iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes error 7 (Windows error 1114).  I've tried fixes for runtime but computer says there are no errors.  I've uninstalled/reinstalled iTunes and get all the above messages.  Now when I start up my computer the runtime error pops up, but once it is closed computer works fine until I try to open iTunes.  I've even tried a system restore going back to November.  I use iTunes for audiobooks on iPod and I'm going to get desperate soon. Any suggestion?
