Itunes error 0xe800005E then Ipod Touch won't reset

I was getting an error 0xe800005E when I tried to connect my new iPod touch to itunes, so I installed the new version of itunes to no avail. Then I reset my ipod touch, which now is stuck in a cycle where the apple logo comes on then it goes to a white screen before going blank again and going back to the apple logo, and on and on.
Is there any way to resolve this or do I just have to get it serviced?

I've checked all of that, but it doesn't seem to offer me any solutions as I did everything suggested and now the ipod won't restart, it's just stuck in a cycle of powering up from the apple logo to a white screen then going blank again and doing the same over and over again... presumably until the battery runs down.

i have the same problem. I tried to upgrade this morning to iOS 5.0.1 and now my ipod touch is completely frozen. All I get is a black screen with the Apple logo and an empty download bar. I'm not even able to turn off the ipod and iTunes doesn't detect it anymore. Any suggestion except returning the ipod to Apple Store?

  • After Downloading itunes 8.2.1, iPod Touch won't sync

I have repeatedly (6+ times) have tried to sync my iPod Touch with the recently updated iTunes 8.2.1 and every time it hangs in sync and gives me the error message:
    applemobiledevicehelper quit unexpectedly
Then after doing force quit, the sync icon in the menu bar keeps spinning.
I also have "disable automatically sync" selected, but it is still automatically syncing.
Is there a way to go to the previous version of iTunes?

Hey I am having a problem with my iPhone. About 2 days ago I have synced my iPhone 3G in iTunes 8.2.1 and it synced my music, apps, etc. But when it was backing the phone, iTunes froze and then the entire computer froze, after half way of backup. When I restarted the computer, I opened iTunes and still recongnized my phone, but when I tried to backup the phone, by right clicking the iPhones name next to the iPhone symbol, a pop up came saying: applemobiledevicehelper has stopped working and muct close. (And by the way I'm using windiws vista 32bit) I had stopped the applemobiledevicehelper in control panel and started it up again, opeded up iTunes again and still the pop up comes up after right clicking the iPhone symbol. What should I do now???
And FYI music apps etc can still sync not backup

  • IPod Touch won't reset even after holding down power and home button

My kid was playing the Very Hungry Cat App and all of a sudden the screen went white on my iPod Touch 4th Gen 32gb.
I tried holding down the Sleep/Wake button + the Home button for ten seconds and it just stayed white.  I tried plugging it into my computer and the computer doesn't recognize it was plugged in.  Lastly I tried doing the 3 second sleep hold, add 10 second hold on the home button, then release sleep and hold the home for another 20 seconds and it didn't work.
I'm currently letting it sit there hoping the battery dies and that works.
    Anyone else have any ideas?
    Thanks for your help.

You are doing the ony thing you can.  That let the battry fully drain. After charging for an hour try the reset, conncting to computer and placing in recovery mode. If still white then you very likely have a hardware problem and an appointment at the gensiur bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My ipod touch will not reset and I can't restore in iTunes since it won't allow me to access wth a passcode on the ipod.

My iPod touch will not reset.  I have tried to the sleep/wake and home buttons simultaneously, but after the apple appears it goes back to a screen that shows the spiralling wheel that moves around 5 times, stops for a second and then repeats this cycle over and over.  I tried to restore through iTunes, but I get an error message that says that I need to enter the passcode on the iPod which is impossible since it won't stop the wheel.  Any ideas?

Place the iPod in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

  • New ipod touch won't work with itunes 10.6.3 says it needs 11.1 but I cannot load that on my macbook using OSX 10.5.8 any way around this?

New ipod touch won't work with itunes 10.6.3, says it needs 11.1 or newer but I cannot load that onto my MacBook running on OSX 10.5.8 - is there anyway around this?

No. If your MacBook has an Intel processor you can update to OSX 10.6.8 and then install the latest iTunes.
A 5G iPod with iOS 7 requires that if you have a Mac you have OSX 10.6.8 or later.
    You can get 10.6.8 here:

  • Ipod touch won't connect to computer, windows 7, and itunes, and won't charge on my computer

Whenever I plug in my ipod touch to my computer, NOTHING HAPPENS.There is no "bleep" sound, nothing shows up under my computer, nothing shows up in itunes, and my ipod touch won't even charge. How can I fix this?
I have tried many things to fix this issue, including reading and doing everything listed under "iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows".
    I have:
    - deleted itunes and reinstalled it
    - reset my ipod touch using the home and power key
    - tried fixing drivers
    - using a different cord
    - using a different computer (my ipod touch won't even show up on any other computer)
    etc.
And yet my ipod touch still will not connect to my computer or itunes, and will not charge on my computer. It charges fine in the wall, though.
I have more information that I believe may be integral to fix this issue:
    - My ipod touch is up to date with iOS 8.0.2
    - My itunes is up to date with version 11.4
    - I tried to connect my ipod using bluetooth, and it shows up like this
(other than this, it won't show up on my computer at all)
    - After I had updated my ipod touch and itunes and even synced my ipod (which had worked fine), I had then put a facebook app and facebook message app on my ipod touch, which after I had done that the next day I noticed that my ipod touch would not even show up on my computer at all (so I deleted the apps) and yet the problem is still persisting.
    - I installed iCloud on both my ipod touch and my itunes
    - Other than what I stated, I have not made any changes to my ipod touch.
In my device manager, NO APPLE PRODUCTS/DRIVERS SHOW UP ANYWHERE
The only place that apple mobile device show up at is here -
I've even tried to reset/stop/set to automatic the Apple Mobile Device here, and still it does not help.
Someone please help me. I've provided much information, so some assistance would really be appreciated. If I need to provide more information, please let me know.

You can try going to Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and setting and then try setting up via iTunes. If still problem then set up via wifi and go to an Apple Store
    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

    Where are you physically located?
What country's Store are you using?
The two have to be the same and the payment method for your account also has to be associated (billing address, where iTunes gift card was purchased) with that country.

In more specific terms. The apps that came on the iPod like the weather and maps and whatnot have been working flawlessly. It's just when I download an app and then disconnect from wifi it's almost like I'm on a timer until the app stops working. It acts like it wants to open, the screen flashes black then resets to the home pages. I've tried all of the basic fixes, rebooting, reseting, uninstalling then reinstalling. But like in my...long...question, the reinstalling option only seems to be a temporary fix. I just recently downloaded the 5.1.1 udate (I think that's what it was) does that have anything to do with it, or am I just derpy when it comes to iPods?

    Try the other suggestions here:

    Then try a restore.
