Itunes error 5103
trying to download a rental movie i get the followinf error:
There was an error with itunes request error 5103
how do i resolve
The fix for this is supposed to be resetting the system clock to automatic time, but this, as we've seen, more often than not fails to work. After a bit of an email exchange between Apple support and myself I discovered the true fix for this issue, or at least, the one that they said to use and that worked for me.
After resetting your clock go to the folder /Users/Shared in Finder and delete the folder "SC Info". This is a hidden folder, so the way you will need to get it to appear is to use the go to folder command (Shift + Command + G) and type in /Users/Shared/SC Info and hit enter. Change to the column view and you'll be able to see the folder there. Move it to the trash and it will go away, and take your problems with it. Restart the computer for the deletion to take effect and then reauthorize your itunes. Should play your rentals after that.
Props to Zarchanalin for the answer!

Fix-itunes-error-3001-42110-or-5103
Any ideas on how to fix error 42110 when downloading a movie?
"Error 42023" through "Error 42408"
These alerts might occur when trying to authorize iTunes or during launch when iTunes checks for authorization information.
Install the latest iTunes from apple.com/itunes/download/
Remove the SC Info folder.
If that does not resolve the issue, see iTunes: "Error 42408" or "Error 42404" after upgrading to iTunes 9.0.3.

I am unable to play a rented movie. I keep getting an error 5103. I have downloaded the latest iTunes and am using a new MacBook Air. There doesn't sem to be any info about error 5103 in support. Please help!
ThanksHeyoo!
Greetings from Hawaii! The error message that you describe is most likely caused by an incorrect date and time setting on your computer. If the date and time are not correct, you will not be able to access the movies you rented.
To change your computer's date and time, choose System Preferences from the Apple menu, then click Date & Time. Make the necessary adjustments so that the date and time are set automatically.
Hope that helps out! Let me know how it goes -

ITunes error 7 (windows 127) VideoToolbox.dll
I have uninstalled, reinstalled, tried installing the videotoolbox.dll file seperately, and looked up just about everything i can find but nothing matches my exact problem or fixes it. When I try to open itunes i get 2 error messages. The first reads:
"The procedure entry point kVTCompressionPropertyKey_ThrottleForBackground could not be located in the dynamic link library VideoToolbox.dll"
After I click ok I get another pop up saying:

when i try and open itunes on my laptop i keep getting the error message Itunes new library and it wont let me open it. I've tried repairing it on control panel and i've also tried installing a newer version. Nothing works.
Any ideas?
CheersWell, I've been the victim of curious and unsolveable iTunes errors, too, but not the same as what you describe. I suspect it had something to do with updating my computer with an external drive/iPod mounted. Or it was just one of those funny little bugs from Apple. You might try backing up, repairing permissions, repairing the start-up volume, and resetting the PRAM.
And if that doesn't work or you already tried that, well... Have a good one!
That's a quote from my favorite cancelled cartoon show, Futurama. Bender says that to Zap Branegan as he is about to get pulled out a breech in the hull into the infinity of space. Seems like it may apply to your situation, too..... -

After iTunes update I see this - Runtime error R6034 "application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly". ThenUninstalled then I also get iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes error 7 (Windows error 1114). I've tried fixes for runtime but computer says there are no errors. I've uninstalled/reinstalled iTunes and get all the above messages. Now when I start up my computer the runtime error pops up, but once it is closed computer works fine until I try to open iTunes. I've even tried a system restore going back to November. I use iTunes for audiobooks on iPod and I'm going to get desperate soon. Any suggestion?

Hi,
I'm running an eMac 10.3.9, iTunes 6.0.4 and an iPod 30gb photo.
I started having problems a few days before the latest iTunes update came out earlier this week, with iTunes not quitting and it not being able to find the library.
Now with the iTunes update, I get the error message
"the iPod cannot be updated. An unknown error occurred (-39)"
I have run Disk Warrior 3.0.3 over the disk and the iPod with no change.
I have run Onyx and Yasu to reset permissions, cron etc etc. with no change.
There is no reference to iPod/iTunes error -39 on the Apple website nor in this forum.
I have changed USB ports with no change.
The iPod appears in the iTunes menu and the battery charges. I can also open the iPod disk and work with the contents.
I have reset the iPod with no change. I used the 'hold the central button and Menu at the same time' trick, so could go one step further and delete everything from the iPod and start again.
But that is assuming the problem is with the iPod. If the problem is with iTunes I won't be able to reload all my songs onto the iPod.
Any hints appreciated.
Tim
eMac 1.25gHz Mac OS X (10.3.9)Problem resolved by restoring iPod to factory settings and reloading all the songs.
Prior to this I deleted iTunes and downloaded a new version from the Apple site. This did not resolve the error -39 message.
Then I took the plunge and restored the iPod. Works fine now.
I'm posting the fix to help anyone into the future with the same problem.

The following article should be just the thing to put Sync Services down and get your iPhone working smoothly with iTunes again.

I have the same problem as many other users: updated iTunes on Windows 7 on Jan 26, 2014 and iTunes does not open. First message "unable to locate component- MSVCR80.dll was not found" then "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes - Error 7 (Windows error 126)". When will Apple fix this? Don’t feel like uninstalling all Apple software and then re-installing it as suggested, as I am on a terribly slow internet connection while travelling in the DR Congo.
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall press on)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

When I try to open iTunes, Error 2 appears saying that itunes won't open because "Apple Application Support was not found". What do I do???
If your problem is only w/iTunes, you really should re-post over in the iTunes for Windows forums instead of the iPod forums.
