ITunes Error -600 (Can't open iTunes) Help!

Tonight I was working with my iPod and iTunes on a Mac; I ejected the iPod, but a static message on iTunes had locked it up. The message was that the iPod was updating. I finally was able to force quit iTunes, but now I cannot open iTunes from the Dock or Finder.
The message I get is: The operation could not be completed. An unexpected error occurred (error code -600). Has anyone got a solution? Please?

  • Error message when updating Itunes...can not open Itunes program

I am recieving error message when updating Itunes for my computer.  The error message reads "MSVCR80.dll is missing and the other error message reads Error 7  (Windows error 126)"  I can not open my Itunes.  I have reloaded the Itunes onto my computer but still have the same error messages.  Please help.

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

  • ITunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found - QTCF error popup - can't open iTunes

Hi, whenever I try to open iTunes I also get this message:
iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point QTCF_CFUniCharGetUnicodePropertyDataForPlane could not be located in the dynamic link library QTCF.dll
I've tried uninstalling iTunes then reisntalling, uninstalling Quicktime, rebooted and I still get the same problem. I also moved QTCF.dll into iTunes. Still get the same error. I also tried a system restore, and I STILL get the same error.
I tried removing everything and turing off my antivirus and I still get this message and my iTunes does not work. Also when the message comes on it will not go away until I re-start my system. Any help out there on this???
    Thanks.

So I followed the instructions and downloaded the newest version of iTunes like it told me, but after I did that, When I would attempt to get on iTunes an iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not found messege would come up. And it says The procedure entry point sqlite3preparev2 could not be located in the dynamic link library SQLite3.dll.
That's a different one, smyth. At the moment, you could try basiam's workaround from the following post:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10444196#10444196
... however, this could possibly cause trouble in its own right next time you upgrade iTunes, given that there will be a misplaced, older SQLite3.dll in system32 ... So be sure to remember you've got that dll down there, and if you get an odd message about SQLite3.dll when you try launching iTunes *after your next iTunes upgrade,* delete the old copy of the dll in system32 and see if you get a normal launch without it there.

  • Error 7: can't open iTunes

In the last few days, each time I try to open iTunes, it doesn't open and I get Error 7 (iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes). I've tried reinstalling it and it starts working when I do, but when I restart my computer the error comes back. Obviously, it isn't practical to reinstall iTunes every time I turn on my PC, so what can I do to fix this error once and for all?
    Thank you very much.

    Thanks.
Another cause of the 7 can be damage to the other software applications associated with iTunes. (In particular, Apple Application Support, but I've seen the same sorts of trouble produced by QuickTime as well.)
When you have been uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, have you just been uninstalling the iTunes application? Or have you removed all associated applications prior to reinstalling, as per the following document?

  • I can't open iTunes - error 13014

I recently installed a 2TB external hard drive and iPhoto Library Manager on my MacBook Pro (MacOS 10.7.3), and now get the error message: can't open iTuns (error 13014).
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have tried to reboot, but to no avail.
    Thank you.

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. Now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair".
    Does iTunes launch properly now?
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post:

  • ITunes 7.7 - Can't open! Error message - PLEASE HELP!

Hi, I've recently updated to iTunes 7.7 and now I can't open iTunes. I've tried reinstalling itunes, quicktime and even did a system restore, but still couldn't get iTunes to work. Btw, I'm running XP pro w/ SP3. The error message I get is this:
And when I click the "Click Here" link, i get this:
    Please help!!

when I tried to open quick time i got a rundll error - an exception occurred while trying to run
In that case the QuickTime problem is likely causing the iTune problem. So we'd better try swapping out your existing QuickTime.
Head into your Add/Remove programs. uninstall QuickTime.
Next, we’ll manually remove any leftover program files and folders.
    1. On the Start menu, click My Computer (or double-click My Computer on the Desktop).
    2. In My Computer, open Local Disk.
    3. Open Program Files.
    4. Right-click on the QuickTime folder and click Delete from the shortcut menu.
    5. Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\.
    6. Remove the files QuickTime.qts and QuicktimeVR.qtx. (If “Hide filename extensions for known file types” is enabled on the PC, then those two files will appear as “QuickTime” and QuickTimeVR”.)
    7. Restart your computer.
Now download and save a copy of the latest standalone QuickTime installer to your hard drive. (We'll run the install from there rather than online.)
Latest Quicktime Installers … get the one that doesn’t mention iTunes
Switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install. Start the install by doubleclicking the QuickTimeInstaller.exe.
If that install goes through okay, restart the PC and try launching iTunes again. Does your iTunes launch properly now?
(If you get an error message on the QuickTime uninstall or standalone reinstall, let us know what it says. Include error message numbers if you're getting any.)

  • TS1717 I can't open Itunes, I have an error that says says MSVCR80.dll is not found. I have tried twice to uninstall and reinstall but keep getting the same error message. Can anyone help?

I can't open ITunes, I have an error message that says MSVCR80.dll is not found. Is anyone able to help solve this issue for me. I have tried to unistall and reinstall ITunes twice but continue to get the same error message.

A msi file is short for microsoft installer.  It normally is for installation, removal, and maintenance for a program. So iTunes.msi would be used for the updating of the program.  For some reason it isnt finding this so we can't update, install, or remove it.
From what I have seen windows installer cleanup utility solved related problems before.
I found this forum about removing and installing a new iTunes.  It was about someone who was trying to isntall iTunes, and was looking for msi file and asked for help.   Using this should allow you to be able to install iTunes.  It won't give you the msi file but will allow you to isntall iTunes over again.
    This was what was said.
Another option in case you can't get an msi. (Or even if you can ... the msi's mentioned in the messages may be damaged rather than missing.)
Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
