ITunes Error 8003

I have an iPad app in iTunes on my Windows machine. I cannot download it directly via iPad as it generates an error concerning logging in to iTunes on my computer, etc. When I try to download the app from iTunes on my computer, I get error 8003. On my iPad I get a persistent error message as written above, with two buttons, Done and Retry. I can click either of those button and the window just closes and then reopens ad nauseam. I cannot do anything else on my iPad while this is going on. The iTunes store is turning my iPad into a brick. Doesn't anyone have a definitive answer to al of this ? All I got from iTunes support was a message telling me to download the app on my computer and sync the iPad. For the reasons given above, that doesn't work. Until 3 days ago I was able to download the apps directly on my iPad. Now it is kaput.
I bought this d**ned thing in July. How long do I have to return this brick and get my money back ???

Ok, I too had this issue, so I went through few steps, and found a solution. I don't know this will solve it for other users. But give it a try. Good luck!
By the way, I don't know which step actually fix this problem, but you can find it out on your end.
1) Disable all popup blocks under IE: Tools / Popup blocker / Turn off
2) Add https:apple.com to trusted sited under IE: Tools / Internet Options / Security tab / click on Trusted Sites Icon / click on "sites..." button and add "https:apple.com"
3) If you have the McAfee Security Center running, disable "Privacy Service". note: If you have a different personal firewall or security product installed on your PC, you want to enable any site or apple.com to leave cookies on your pc.
**I think this is the trick to resolve the error code #8003.
4) If you have a personal firewall device connected to DSL or Cable, open the port #3689 for Itune. This should be done through the gaming setting on your firewall/gateway/router device connected to DSL/cable line.
If you have simplified this fix, let me know! email me at dpark.public at gmail.com

  • ITunes error 8003 and dowloads restart at 0

I have been trying to download Discovery Atlas Italy for several weeks. I have a very poor internet connection that is maybe in the neighborhood of 128 k. I keep getting error 8003 while I am downloading the file and it resets to 0. The most I have been able to download is 600 MB. In past experiences iTunes saved download progress and there was an option to pause iTunes store purchases. I no longer have this ability and I am uncertain why. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
    Sincerely,

  • What is iTunes error 8003

I keep getting an error 8003 when downloading a movie, but other movies download perfectly fine... what do i do?

Try deleting the partial cached downloads in the iTunes media folder.
That error is outlined in this Apple article -> iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting
    "Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023"
These alerts occur due to timeouts or conflicts trying to write a file during download.
If you encounter this issue while accessing iTunes Store:
See iTunes 9: "One Moment Please" or "Error (-50)" message when accessing iTunes Store
If you encounter this issue while while downloading something from the iTunes Store:
Delete your iTunes Downloads folder, located in:
    Mac OS X:
~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Downloads   Note: "iTunes Media" may appear as "iTunes Music. Also, the tilde (~)  refers to your Home directory.
    Windows  Vista:
  \Users\username\Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
    Windows  7:
  \Users\username\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
    Windows  XP:
  \Documents and Settings\username\My Documents\My  Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Downloads\
After locating your iTunes Downloads folder:
    Quit iTunes.
Delete the Downloads folder on your computer.
    Open iTunes.
Choose Store > Check for Available Downloads.
Enter your account name and password.

I am not sure what you mean by "Flash Player for steam"; the only Flash Player installers I know is the ActiveX (for Internet Explorer) and the plugin (for other browsers); you can find both at http://helpx.adobe.com/content/help/en/flash-player/kb/installation-problems-flash-player- windows.html#main-pars_header

THe rest of the episodes will not download and I keep getting something that says error 8003. Any help would be great.

  • Dial-up and iTunes 7 challenged! Error 8003

    Hello,
I'm pretty much stuck with dial-up internet access speed in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. When I had iTunes 6.0 I successfully downloaded the latest season of 24 to my laptop, but since I upgraded to iTunes 7.0 I've had challenges downloading episodes of Survivor.
I routinely get error 8003 stating that a connection was lost to iTunes and/or the "network." That may be possible as our connectivity here is questionable. However, I thought there would be a recovery option for iTunes to pick up where it left off downloading a show. Maybe since the episodes I've bought are almost 2x the size from when I downloaded episodes of 24, the outages are too close together to successfully download a show.
Does anyone have any ideas? I don't know whether to complain to my internet provider or complain to Apple/iTunes.
    Thanks!

  • ITunes Store Error 8003

I was downloading extras for a movie of mine and got error 8003. My network is fine, iTunes has full access to the Internet; if it didn't the movie wouldn't download would it? Really trying to avoid messing with my system configuration (Windows 7). Is it really my computer, because I had the Arrow PDF Booklet have problems downloading recently too; it appeared to download but then wouldn't open. I think it's a problem with the extras, how they're uploaded to the store or something, because previous extras downloaded just fine without me having to change a thing.

How did you contact iTunes Support ? If it's a new purchase then you could try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support (and refer them to this thread, iTunes Store: iTunes LP Error 8003, to show that it's not just you having the problem) : http://reportaproblem.apple.com

  • Download error 8003 on itunes 10.5 on Win XP Pro

Does anyone know what this error is? My windows xp pro was recently upgraded to itunes 10.5 to support an iPad. things were ok for a day, now I cannot download the "free apps" i "purchased". I get error 8003 which says "check network connection". I ran the itunes diagnostics which says passed: accessed Store, simulated purchase, etc. I tried to download from directly from/to the iPad and iTouch and get the same error. I "repaired" my itunes installation. Seems like the problem is at Apple or maybe my account information? I enter my password ok for my account, it shows my purchases, etc... Help?!

Try the "Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023" section in the Specific Conditions and Alert Messages: (Mac OS X / Windows) section of the following document:

  • Error 8003 when downloading ITunes

Please HELP. I clicked on a story to download, and when it tries to download to me I get an "error 8003" and won't let me downlaod any more music. I don't know how to delete that one story.
    Christine

I have just received an e-mail from Apple iTunes Support and they have issued me with a FULL refund of the purchase price of Avatar and the ( seemingly ) unobtainable iTunes Extras!
I seemed to be getting nowhere after Apples iTunes Support put me through the ringer making me re-try the download ( twice! ); delete my downloads folder and re-try the download AGAIN; and finally having to re-setup my old HP DV7 laptop ( I'm currently using a 17" MacBook Pro Retina ) and retry the download yet AGAIN!
Needless to say the outcome in each case was exactly the same! Avatar the movie downloads perfectly and The Extras file fails at zero% with TWO error 8003s!
Through all this I did everything, no matter how seemingly stupid it seemed that was asked of me and CONTINUED to insist that the fault was on their side and NOT mine!
iTunes support have finally advised me that they don't know when or even IF the file will be checked/repaired and in view of that and that I am a valued customer ( I'd want to be after buying 1.5TB of Music, Movies and TV Shows ) that they would refund me the FULL price I paid for the Movie and Extras!!
So, I would urge ALL of those who have written to this forum to write again to iTunes Support and DEMAND full refund for a faulty product ( the Movie PLUS Extras ), citing MY SUCCESS as precedent for that refund.
I'm saddened that it seems impossible to make Apple fix this file, but at the very least we should be re-imbursed for our trouble ( and our ability to put up with sh*t <sigh> )
So, good luck and start demending your right to a FULL refund!
    Christine

  • ITunes Store: iTunes LP Error 8003

I've downloaded 2 albums with iTunes LP. The songs from said albums download just fine but the part of these albums containing the LP content fails for both albums.
This happens every time I try to download these:
I've checked my firewall settings, and since I can download songs from the store, I don't think it's having connection issues.
Any ideas? Any LP album I own does this.

  • Partial Duplicate Downloads (Error 8003)

One evening I set a TV series to download on my ATV. The next morning I noticed that episodes were down loading on my iMac. When that had finished, I had a complete series (and nothing else) on my Mac. However, when I return to my ATV as well as all the complete episodes I also have some partial duplicates shown. These files are listed in the downloads menu as 1% complete with the message Download error 8003.
What I think happened is that my wireless connection was interrupted over night so the episodes could not down load to the ATV. Before this happened, however, the ATV synced and put them in my iTunes down load queue, where they happily downloaded and then were synced back to the ATV.
I have all the episodes so its not a big problem, but I have all this junk showing on my ATV (so a series is listed as having 12 episodes when it only has 8: I have episodes 1 to 8, plus partial duplicates of episodes 1 to 4).
Any ideas how to erase the junk from my ATV (it doesn't appear in iTunes)?

Click the AppleTV device in iTunes to get the tabbed sync menus - if there aren't many tabs you may need to select to 'custom sync' on the ones available. My sync computer has failed so I can't check the exact option.
There are several posible ways to sort this, some more time consuming than others.
Those items which directly downloaded to AppleTV may have a trash can icon next to them when they're the current scrolled to item - if so you could just delete them direct from AppleTV.
Other alternatives would be to remove the sync computer from AppleTV Settings>Computers which will delete all synced data in preparation for a new sync library - it may not remove direct AppleTV downloads though - quick to try but you'd need to add the library agaim with the 5 digit code from this menu and resync stuff. Another alternative would be a factory restore, update software then add back the sync library but this is a last resort in my opinion.
Did the duplicates sync back to iTunes? If so deleting them from there may remove them from AppleTV at the next sync.
Oh, how I wish you could drag and drop files to AppleTV in iTunes, and delete/recover content from it in the same way!
