ITunes error in Windows (Vista)
I am constantly getting the following error:
"The itunes library file cannot be saved. An unknown error occurred (-48)."
I am running on a Vista Ultimate machine connected to a small business server. My library is stored on a redirected My Documents folder on the server. I have used this same setup for quite some time using XP without ever having a problem. I believe this problem occured prior to updating to 7.1 but it still continues after the update. The error pops up about every 30 seconds but when I end out I get the message that iTunes is saving the library. Everything appears to be ok when I reopen, though most of the time I still get the error. Any help is greatly appreciated. I also have searched here, google, etc. and never seem to find the specific error code number, though there are many similar errors out there.
Please help and thanks in advance...
Alex

Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

IPhone 3G 2.1 connection error with iTunes 8 on Windows Vista Enterprise
I was previously able to connect my iphone with my work computer (Windows Vista Enterprise) and it would recognize my phone. However, since I updated my iphone to version 2.1, it will not recognize the phone and gives me the following error message:
"iTunes could not connect to the iphone because an unknown error occured (0xE8000024)."
I am able to connect my phone with version 2.1 to my home computer running Windows XP SP2.
Any idea what may be causing the connection error in Windows Vista?Hey TranceCadet,
This could be caused by a USB connection issue.
Make sure the iPhone is directly connected to a high speed USB port on the PC and not plugged into a hub, monitor, or keyboard. Disconnect any other USB devices, other than the keyboard and mouse.
This article has some general USB troubleshooting tips: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1286
You may also want to disable or reconfigure any security software. This article will walk you through putting the PC in a selective startup mode, which will bypass most application conflicts.

Experiencing trouble syncing with the 10.3 version of iTunes on my Windows Vista machine. Have uninstalled all Apple software twice, reinstalled and continue to get an error 7 message in connection with the Photo Processor. Any other ideas to try?
Hi,
got it fixed! My Son had both files on his Win7 iTunes installation. Never mind he had no issues whith ths iTunes and iPhone Sync. So I checked my other Win XP PC, where I don't have this problem syncing my ipad, and surprise. Both files do NOT show up on this PC. So I renamed the iTunesPhotoProcessor.exe I found under c:\program file\iTunes and synced again my iPhone and it went through without any error. So the problem might be and unremoved iTunesPhotoProcessor.exe or the missing iTunesPhotoProcessor.dll under the iTunes install root folder and this even if I had checked that the folder was completely removed during iTunes unistall.
Please try yourselve and just rename the iTunesPhotoProcessor.exe to iTunesPhotoProcessor.exe_ under c:\program file\iTunes or get a copy of the missing iTunesPhotoProcessor.dll and cp to c:\program file\iTunes. -
cant download itunes 10 using windows vista erroe about installation of assembly
These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? (For example, 8007000B.) -
I have the same problem as many other users: updated iTunes on Windows 7 on Jan 26, 2014 and iTunes does not open. First message "unable to locate component- MSVCR80.dll was not found" then "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes - Error 7 (Windows error 126)". When will Apple fix this? Don’t feel like uninstalling all Apple software and then re-installing it as suggested, as I am on a terribly slow internet connection while travelling in the DR Congo.
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall press on)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

I cannot install itunes on my windows vista
I try to install itunes on my windows vista, it gives me a error
"iTunesSetup.exe não é um aplicativo Win32 válido"
That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer? -
CAN'T INSTALL ITUNES 9 ON WINDOWS VISTA 64-BIT OS
Hey guys!
I'm having a reaaaallly hard time installing iTunes on my Windows Vista 64-bit OS. Everytime I think it's about to finish installing, it shows me this message:
What does it mean?? Can someone PLEASE help me, I haven't had music on my iPhone for 4 weeks now!Curses ... you did everything right by providing the screenshot, thanks. But we really need to see the error message number that shows up after the "HRESULT" bit for one of those, and it's deciding not show us that.
Okay ... people who get these error messages for iTunes installs typically are also getting Windows updates failures too. So we'll try to work out what the iTunes/Updates issue is by checking your Update history.
Go into your Windows Update and click "Update History". Have updates been failing for you recently? If so, doubleclick on each failure to bring up a small window showing some info about the failure.
What error message codes are you getting for the Windows Updates failures? (For example, 0x8007000B, or something else?) -
Recently downloaded iTunes on my windows Vista PC and its incomplete.
Recently downloaded iTunes on my windows Vista PC everything comes up on the screen except there is no Edit, View, Controls etc., no tabs for Music, Movies, TV Shows etc., no viewing for their sub-categories in the drop down, no three lights in the upper left corner and I cannot type in the search box. What's missing or wrong with this download? Really hard to make a purchase.
Hi ...thanks for trying to help.
When I plug my ipod in via USB it attempts to find and install the driver software. It always fails and I get the message "Windows encountered a problem installing the driver software for your device. Windows found driver softtware for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install it - Apple mobile device USB driver. The I/O operation has been aborted because of either a thread exit or an application request" -
following an update of itunes I keep getting the messageI "Please reinstall itunes. error 7 (windows error 5)." I Have uninstalled and reinstalled Itunes 10.7.0.21 and keep getting the same error message.
A complete uninstall/reinstall of iTunes and related software components is worth a try (7s can indicate trouble with other software components like Apple Application Support). See the following documents for instructions:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
... But if no joy there, let's check to see if there's a .NET issue underlying this:

ITunes error 7 (windows 127) VideoToolbox.dll
I have uninstalled, reinstalled, tried installing the videotoolbox.dll file seperately, and looked up just about everything i can find but nothing matches my exact problem or fixes it. When I try to open itunes i get 2 error messages. The first reads:
"The procedure entry point kVTCompressionPropertyKey_ThrottleForBackground could not be located in the dynamic link library VideoToolbox.dll"
After I click ok I get another pop up saying:
"iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes
Error 7 (Windows error 127)"
Can anyone help me fix this?
Thank you
P.S. I am running Windows 7 64-bitSee iTunes launch errors caused by iAdCore.dll.

After iTunes update I see this - Runtime error R6034 "application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly". ThenUninstalled then I also get iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes error 7 (Windows error 1114). I've tried fixes for runtime but computer says there are no errors. I've uninstalled/reinstalled iTunes and get all the above messages. Now when I start up my computer the runtime error pops up, but once it is closed computer works fine until I try to open iTunes. I've even tried a system restore going back to November. I use iTunes for audiobooks on iPod and I'm going to get desperate soon. Any suggestion?
