ITunes error launching?

Whenever I try to launch iTunes, It says "Apple Application Support was not found" I have tried re downloading iTunes and it will not work. Does anybody know what the problem is? I am running 32 bit on windows Vista Home Premium

Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

itunes wont launch, i get no error message, no blue screen, it just wont open. I've tried to delete and reinstall, but once i close itunes i still have same issue. it wont open again.

I have same problem  on my XP lap top and Windows 7 PC.    Apple have been investigating this problem for me for a week now without success so far.  Understand it 's ongoing with other customers as well.
It is caused by an bit of program called APSDaemon supplied by Apple in latest i-Tunes.     Your quick fix to enable you to open i-Tunes again is as follows:-     open Task Manager (right click bottom toolbar), click on Task Manager, select Processes.   Find APSDaemon, highlight and press END PROCESS.      I-tunes will now re-open ok.   You have to repeat this every time you want i-Tunes re-opened until you switchoff or restart.
A pain I know, but lets you keep going until Apple repair and release an update for i-Tunes

Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from Microsoft:

Now run the utility ("Start > All programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries, and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC, and try installing iTunes again. Does the install go through this time?

  • Apple Configurator error on launch "Please reinstall iTunes (Error -42110)"

    I'm running OS X 10.8.5 and iTunes 11.1.1
I had Apple Configurator 1.4 working for a while, but one day opened it up and it's coming up with this same error:
    "Please reinstall iTunes (Error: -42110)"
I've deleted iTunes.app from the the Applications folder, moved AirTrafficHost.framework and MobileDevice.framework from the /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ as described here https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3888313?tstart=0
then reinstalled iTunes and I get the same error message!
I have also tried deleting Apple Configurator.app and the above, and after reinstalling both it still doesn't work
Is it possible to get an iTunes uninstaller app that removes all the other files iTunes installs so I can reinstall?
    Any help appreciated

    Solved it! Kind of...
This was directly related to me authorising a machine in iTunes. I followed this guide and deleted the SC Info folder here /Users/Shared/SC Info/
relaunched Apple Configurator and it worked!
The problem I'm still having is that I'm trying to pre-install free apps on some iOS devices using Apple configurator. Every time I try this is fails on the app installation stage of installation with the error message 'Unable to authorize apps'.
Googling this error message tells me to Authorize the machine in iTunes to the Apple ID that I originally got the apps from, but as soon as I do this, Apple Configurator stops working with the above message!
    Vicious circle!

  • IPod Dissapears in Window when iTunes starts and iTunes error occurs

I had an issue where my iPod (Gen 7) would show in the PC window under "Drives", but dissapeared as soon as iTunes was launched and then an error from iTunes that the iPod was recognized but couldn't be read.  Going through the iTunes diagnostics didn't work, either.  need a bit more support from Apple for that issue.
I went through the troubleshooting steps, several times, all of which did not work, which included resetting mobile device activation and re-installing the latest iTunes.
Finally, I came across the troubleshooting step under "iPod not recognized in window", and it said to uninstall a lot of the apple apps, such as iTunes, Application Support, etc.
After uninstalling, rebooting, and re-installing, the error had dissapeared and I could see my iPod in the iTunes again.  (Hesitant to plug the iPhone in.)
What caused this, I don't know, but it may had something to do with using my work account ID for my iPhone so I could import some photos into my personal account ID on my iPod.
Screwed that up...still don't know how to import or share, unless I designate the work iPhone to another computer and keep the accounts seperate.  I was using Cloud, since it was installed on my computer, probably when I first plugged my iPhone into my computer.
Could this be what happened, two user accounts on one iTunes just didn't agree?

  • Itunes error on start up

When i open itunes, you just see the outline and then it says an error occured and closes. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling about 20 times. Whats gooooing ooooooonnnnnnnnnn?

    hi Sinnful Dayz!
okay, i think we're still probably on the right
track. it's a little disconcerting that QT refused to
launch without an error message for you. but
when you did the standalone reinstall:
    "Error Number: 0x80040707
    Description: DLL function call crashed:
    QTInstallCode.QuicktimeUnInstallProc
... in this context, that usually indicates a broken
existing QT where the QT installation configuration
information has been compromised in some way. so
we'll keep proceeding under the assumption that your
itunes error message is being caused by a
    broken QT.
we'll try applying the standard tactic for getting
    past the 0x80040707.
Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp
utility. use it to remove any existing
    QuickTime installation configuration on the
    PC:
    Descrip
tion of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
... then use the QuickTime component of the
complete uninstall instructions in the following
document as a guide to a manual removal of leftover
    QuickTime program files and folders:
Trouble installing iPod, iTunes, or QuickTime
    software in Windows
once we've scraped away all the old QT, let's try
    another careful standalone QT reinstall.
does the QT reinstall go through okay this time? if
it does, does your itunes launch again?
    love, b
Got this far with same exact problem, b, but I can't scrape away the old QT. I get a access denied error when I try to delete the QT folder, specifically the qttask.exe file. I also can't stop the process in the Task Manager, same reason.
I am logged in as the admin, I can't think of anything else?!

  • Ituneshelper was not installed correctly, please reinstall itunes Error 7

Have uninstalled and reinstalled itunes and related  programs (ad infinitum) per advice offered in this forum. So far a complete waste of time.
Running Windows 7, 64 bit,  Home Premium. Have repaired windows installation as well, to no effect. Considering switching to Android phone since Apple obviously does not what PC users to using iPhones or iPods.  Any ideas?
Honestly, I have been trying to overcome this setback for two weeks now and am getting discouraged.

It's being unusually cryptic for an Error 7.
Usually if the .NET framework is up to snuff, an error 7 indicates trouble with the Apple Application Support installation. But in those cases, usually there's a preceding message about one of the Apple Application Support program files.
On rare occasions (had it happen to me once myself while installing and uninstalling stuff by way of troubleshooting experimentation), the 7 can indicate trouble with one of the other associated programs (like QuickTime, perhaps BonJour). So, perhaps the sensible way forward for us under the circumstances is a complete uninstall and reinstall of all iTunes and related componentry, as per:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
If you get any error messages with any of the uninstalls, deletions or reinstall, let us know what they say.
If, however, the process seems to go through swimmingly, does your iTunes start launching without the 7?

  • ITunes Error 7 (Windows error 127) after installing iTunes 64-bit for Windows

After installing iTunes 64-bit for Windows (latest build), I get an error pop-up saying:
iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes
    Error 7 (Windows error 127)
I've gone thru the uninstall, reboot and reinstall process three or four times now. Still nothing.
Furthermore, after clicking okay to the error, it continues to pop up on it's own every 45 seconds or so.
There was one other error I came across after trying to launch iTunes after installation.
    See both error messages here:

Brilliant. Thanks a lot. I've wasted a couple of hours on this nasty bug, & trying all the other suggestions across various threads again and again.
I now find I had the same registry entry hanging on, despite uninstalling & wiping everything again and again. Having now deleted this key, (I don't even have an iPod), & iTunes 11.1.14 now opens at long last.
But WHY is this bug not fixed? Enough people are suffering with this across the forum. WHERE is Apple support on this?
It should have been added to their page at
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
    by now, why hasn't it???
    It's not good enough!
    Re:
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDlls]
    "C:\\Program Files\\iPod\\bin\\iPodService.exe"=dword:80000000
AHA! This entry for iPodService.exe still exhisted.  So I had no folders on the PC, no installs on the PC and no services running.... BUT this was still in the Registry.
Step 5 - Delete only the Registry entry above.  NO REBOOT
    Step 6 - Reinstall iTunes64.exe

I've been getting a message saying Itunes cannot be accessed - so just updated to Itunes 11.1.3 but still getting error message -42408. Any thoughts?
Thank you and Happy New Year

    Hey there davidgor2!
I have found an article that should help you resolve this issue with updating your iTunes. The article can be found here:
    iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3297
and the specific part of the article you will want to look at first is right here:
    "Error 42023" through "Error 42408"
These alerts might occur when trying to authorize iTunes or during launch when iTunes checks for authorization information.
Install the latest iTunes from apple.com/itunes/download/
    Remove the SC Info folder.
If that does not resolve the issue, see iTunes: "Error 42408" or "Error 42404" after upgrading to iTunes 9.0.3.
Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities!

  • Issues with Itunes not launching (Windows 7)

i have most current versions of itunes and quicktime (Ive read quicktime needs to be updated for itunes to work properly. ive deleted and re-downloaded both programs several times. Someone told me to check the Processes tab from the task manager and see what shows up when itunes is launched. It shows "itunes exe *32." So.... now what?

No don't remove Quick.ime, that has nothing to do with Apple.
So now QUicktime launches. Other software particularly some codec packs install unwanted Quicktime components that can mess up Quicktime.
Now Quicktime launches, and you check that it is the latest version. An out of date Quicktime can cause iTunes launch failure.
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
Could you also recheck the task manager, if iTunes.exe is still running try killing the proces or restart your PC.
If not, does iTunes still persist in the task manager when you try to start iTunes?
Double checking, do you get any kind of error message from iTunes if so, post it in full.
It might also be worth looking in the Event viewer to see if there is any error mentioning iTunes in the Application log.
If you find one double click on it and copy the result into your post. Using the copy button.

    Hello arrrbecca,
After reviewing your post, it sounds like an update failed and now iTunes wont launch. It looks like you have already done some troubleshooting. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
