ITunes error message help! - Network connection reset

Hi
I keep getting this message when i try to update apps in iTunes or if i try to load Ping.
We could not complete your iTunes Store request. The network connection was reset
I had it in old iTunes now i have new iTunes 10 and still have same message.
I tried checking if proxy settings were wrong - they are not
did a DND flush
Tried fixing "host" files in System 32/etc folders.
Only started about 2 weeks ago but not sure why.
Seen many people had this - whats the solution to enable me to use app store/ping etc.
PS - also tried the "authorise computer" option with no joy...

  • I keep getting an error message saying network connection reset

The computer I am working on is windows based and hard wired to the network, not wi-fi. I get this message saying hte network connection was reset almost everytime I try to download on itunes; but I am not having connectivity issues with any other program.

FaceTime uses Wi-Fi, so you have a weak Wi-Fi connection message. Your Wi-Fi needs to be upgraded.

  • ITunes error message:  The Network Connection Timed Out???

New 30GB and Nano for Christmas. Per the instructions, I downloaded the Itunes update, 7.0.2. Since then, we can't get on Itunes store. Apple support said the site was too busy. I've downloaded it on my work computer and laptop and the store opens, but not on our home desktop. I am trying not to have to resort to exporting hundereds of music files. Anybody overcome this one?

  • ITunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. The network connection reset.

    Hi,
I read a bunch of the other posts where people are having a hard time connecting to iTunes. However, this is not a current problem but one that has been occuring for awhile for me (actually my daughter). Either way, I removed and reinstalled iTunes 7.0.2 and I am getting the following message:
iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. The network connection was reset.
Make sure your network connection is active and try again.
Well, if my network connection is not active then I wouldn't be able to reinstall iTunes or post this message. Has anyone seen this message prior to everyone getting their iTunes gift cards for X-Mas?
    Thanks!

Hi to all who are having problems...
After some time and visiting an apple store I was able to get this to work. Basically, it has something to do with your Firewall settings. I actually have Panda Software's Antivirus s/w with the firewall protection. Under the Advanced Settings page iTunes was listed as "No Connection". I selected iTunes and then clicked on Remove application. I then tried iTunes store again and it worked. I even went back to my firewall protections and this time when I looked under the Advanced Settings page iTunes is now properly listed as "Outbound (client)".
I won't take all the credit because the Apple Store pointed me to the following page which gave me the hint of checking my firewall protections:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304082
Give this a try and see if this doesn't help.
    Cheers!

  • HT4061 ITunes error message.  Cannot connect how do I fix that

My ITunes no longer works error message says cannot connect. How do I get it working again

    You can try this ....
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time>Set Automatically>Off. Set the date one year ahead. Try to update the apps again. If you get an error message, go back to the settings. Correct the date and time (set automatically) then go back and try to update the apps again.
Or try this ... If you are running iOS 6.
Settings>Privacy>Location Services>System Services (swipe to the bottom of the page to find this)>Location Based iAds>Off.

  • I downloaded Itunes but when I click to open i get an error message "check network connection and try again".  Windows 7 HP

I have successfully downloaded Itunes, however, when I click on the IStore an error message pops up "check network connection and try again".  My network connection works perfectly and I have disabled all firewall and security programs.  I've tried uninstall and reinstall several times and still get error message.  Does anyone know how to get around this?  THANKS!

    Hi..
Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall
Make sure the Firewall is turned off. You may need to click the gold lock icon to make changes.

  • Podcast Error Message "The network connection could not be made."

For the past few days, the same 4 of my twenty or so podcasts have had an exclamation point next to them. When clicked, the subject message appears "The network connection could not be made.". I figured these may have been canceled since other podcasts I subscribe to downloaded without a problem. But now, when I go into the iTunes store and try to subscribe to new podcasts, they won't download. I do not get an error message. The download begins and abruptly ends before any data is received. I can subscribe but well, a lot of good that does when nothing comes. Any ideas would be a HUGE help. Oh & yes, my network connection is fine. At least I think it's fine. Everything else internet related is just dandy. Thanks!

I think there may be a networking problem with the specific podcast(s). I have a couple of these myself. It normally indicates I am not playing them on my iPod but sometimes (as now) there is an abnormal situation.
I know that some Internet links have not been working perfectly in the last week or so (and the Apple forums have also been slow perhaps due in part to this), but it might be an idea to track the source down, starting with the iTunes shop and resubscribe.
One I just checked has changed the feed and both are on the iTunes shop, so the first is showing the ! while the second works fine. The same is true for the second feed: although I am subscribed, a check of the originating website shows that the "File is not available."

  • While upgrading error message says Network connection was lost

After Itunes downloads the newest upgrade for my Iphone 4, an error message comes up saying that the network connection was lost or had timed out. Thus, not letting me upgrade my Iphone 4 or even keeping the downloaded upgrade. Any Suggestions?
