ITunes error message -- Unknown error occurred (-42110)

When I launch iTunes, I get the following error message -- Unknown error occurred (-42110). Not sure it affects iTunes operation. What can I do to make this go away? I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes.

Try the following user tip:

    Hey Lawrence,
A big THANK YOU!! to you! Your suggestions worked!
Before I changed USB ports (more on that in a sec...), I employed one of your suggestions that you gave to someone else with the same problem...and that was to clean the connector on the bottom of the phone with a soft dry tooth brush. I couldn't believe the amount of lint that came out! Especially what was found in either end...had to do some very careful picking. (Almost enough lint to knit a small sweater!!)
Changing the USB port was the second and final step required for a successful backup. My computer is a laptop, and I did have a USB Bluetooth adapter (for another device) installed. I removed  the adapter, plugged the iPhone into that USB port, crossed my fingers...and it worked!!!
Now if I can figure out the rest of this darn program, I might upgrade to a new iPhone!
Again, thank you very much Lawrence!

Try this and see if it helps. Refresh your iTunes account. Sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to purchase again.

    Please help.

I am experiencing the same issue as dwarfland. I have a black 64GB iPhone 5s running iOS version 7.1.1 and a grandfathered unlimited data plan with AT&T. I have had an iTunes Match subscription pretty much since it was introduced. I currently have around 19500 songs in my music library and try to have only around 2000-2500 songs physically located on the phone itself (all of my "top-rated" songs in a single playlist). I have recently needed to re-download all these "top-rated" songs after I restored my phone from a backup, wiping all the songs from my phone. Thanks for posting your experiences, hopefully someone from Apple will notice and help us out with a solution.

  • Error message: unknown Error occured (-39)

    Hello anybody,
does anybody has an idea why I am not able to syncronize my iPhone with iTunes? The error message tells me, that the iPhone couldn't synchronize with iTunes. A unknown error occured (-39).
What can I do to solve the problem?
    Kind regards,
    Michael

Well, I found out what went wrong: I was importing only a part of the photos and said, after the import, delete photos. After this action the syncronisation failt.
In iTunes I deleted the option to synchronize photos with the iPhone and pushed the buttom apply. Afterwards I returned to my origin settings and after a while the photos were synchronized back to the iPhone and the normal synchronization didn't failt.

  • ITunes Error Message 'Unknown Error (-69)'

Recently I have been getting this error message (-69) every time I try to sync my podcasts on to my ipod nano (3g). I get to a certain podcast every time and then it just stops syncing and I get the error message. This has only been happening since I got iTune 8.0, and even though I've now updated to 8.0.1, it's still happening. I've always been able to get all of my podcasts on before, and I'm fairly sure it's not an issue with the amount of free space on my ipod, so why am I getting this error message? Why can't I put on as many podcasts as the free space will allow?
By the way they are just your normal Radio 1 podcasts, I subscribe.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

  • Error message: "unknown error..."

After buying tv shows from iTunes store as they were downloading I kept getting this error message: "The iTunes Library file cannot be saved. An unknown error occurred (-50)

The file is not in my library now, and checking for purchases did not help (said all purchases were downloaded). I paid for the show but it's GONE.

  • Error message: Unknown error (-69)

Recently, when I sync new songs to my iPod, all it will do is sync one, two, or even no songs and then stop syncing. This error message will come up:
"Attempting to copy to the disk "CAMERON'S I" failed. An unknown error occured (-69)."
"CAMERON'S I" is the name of the folder that opens up in My Computer for connecting to my iPod. What is causing this error message and preventing my songs from being synced?
    Thanks in advance.

well, when will Apple finally resolve all 'unknown' problems (whose band-aid solution of March 2008 error -69 is only partially helpful) -- like IGNORE faulty files with a warning without preventing all other good files from being Synced??
I've tried eliminating or unchecking the bad files, even did a full restore.
But I don't feel like having to do this every time. Besides the sync display
is so fast that I cannot possibly read which file is causing the error.
I can no longer sync any podcasts. This is not good.
I use an an iCUBE for recording TV News clips and sometimes cannot sync Movies.
I don't want to have to do this everytime...
Have some sympathy and get to work on upgrading error messages.
