I get an error message when syncing my ipod touch 4th generation saying that it could not start a Sync because a sync was already in progress, which is untrue...

I would try rebooting your computer. To be more confident, I would also reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • Error message when attempting to sync to itunes

Recently I have been having a problem syncing my iphone (original model 16 gb OS 2.2.1 with iTunes (8.0). I get a message that says unable to read from iphone. I can work around this by forcing the iphone to reboot. I can then perform a normal sync. However, the next time I attempt to sync I get the same error message.
I would appreciate any suggestions to fix this problem.
    Thanks!

The message says iTunes could not connect to the iphone " " because an error occurred while reading from the device.
This message appears as soon as the phone is connected. It is coincidental with the sound the iphone makes when it is plugged into the USB cable
I have updated to OS 10.5.7 and iTunes version 8.2 and this has not made the problem any less frequent.
As far as what I'm trying to sync, I don't know what you mean. I'm attempting to do a general periodic sync of the iphone and my Mac.

  • Error message when attempting to sync with SharePoint List

When I attempt to Validate the URL in Project so that I can sync my work to a SharePoint List I receive the error message shown below. I have tried using both the regular URL and I tried TinyURL as well to see if the error was due to sheer length. I have
confirmed that the site is valid and is available. No matter what I get the following message. I have also ensured that my permission settings are all set to 'Full Access' and so I do not believe that this is the result of permission settings. Can anyone
provide some guidance as to why this message appears?

  • Itunes error message whilst attempting to sync 5s with itunes

    Hi,
I have upgraded to a 5s from a 4s and the changeover went smoothly. I sync my phone everyday with outlook, via itunes, primarily to update the calendar. This has been fine with the 5s until Friday of last week when the following error message appeared "itunes could not back up the iphone because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iphone. Delete the backup for this phone and try again" After clicking OK, the following appears "itunes could not sync contacts to the iphone because the sync server failed to sync the iphone"
Phone is currently running iOS 7.1
    OS is Windows 7

    Hi friend,
The issue you're having is usually associated with iTunes as opposed to your device itself, which might suggest a re-install of iTunes is what's needed, but it's worth following iTunes' suggestions first also:
    1. With your iPhone disconnected, head into the iTunes 'Preferences' pane, and head to the 'Devices' tab. Highlight the most recent backup of your iPhone (dates and times should be listed besides each backup entry), and delete this.
    2. Quit iTunes once complete, reboot your PC completely, and then fire up iTunes again. Connect your iPhone and see if it syncs as normal.
If you still get any error messages following the above, you'll most likely need to completely uninstall iTunes and re-install to resolve the issue. This of course means backing up your iTunes library file, and media (if necessary). If this is something you're unsure of how to do, I'd search for an answer briefly in the iTunes area of this forum.
    Good luck!

  • Error message when attempting to sync with itunes

when i try to sync my phone it says "itunes cannot read the content of this iphone, go to the summary tab in iphone preferences and click restore" but i dont want to restore my phone. any other options?

A user named Benxine found a fix that worked for me after failing with all the others:
IF your computer has an old cydia app called Wi-Fi Sync (you'll recognize it on your toolbar as a black silhouette of an iphone that NEVER goes away), then this is probably your main culprit.  Simple fix.
    1. Goto your hard drive in the finder
    2. Goto Library
    3. Goto Launch Daemons
    4. Throw this in the trash:  com.ghughes.wifisync.root.plist
    5. Goto Library
    6. Goto Application Support
    7. Throw this in the trash:  Wi-Fi Sync (it's an entire folder).
    8. Restart.
    9. Thank Benxine!!

  • ITunes shuts down when attempting to sync iPod nano (4th gen)

Ever since I upgraded to iTunes8, I haven't been able to sync my iPod nano.
When I plug the nano into my laptop, iTunes pops up as usual, but then immediately stops working. A box reading: itunes has stopped working pops up, then the program closes automatically.
I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling, resetting the iPod and trying to restore the iPod to get new stuff on it, but iTunes just shut down again as it was starting to restore the iPod.
SO- I have lost everything on my iPod-- I can't use it for anything! It's really frustrating, and I'm not sure what to do at this point!
    Any suggestions would be appreciated!!!

'Attempting to copy to the disk "_" failed. An unknown error occurred (-69).' That is the error I get. I have tried resetting my iPod, uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, changing settings.. how did you resolve your issue? I have the same problem

  • TS3694 Error message when attempting to back up iPod to iTunes, no number given. No previous back ups as a new user, current iTunes software and iPod iOS.

Error message when attempting to back up iPod to iTunes, no number given. No previous back ups as a new user, current iTunes software and iPod iOS.

The issue you are experiencing is with installing the latest iTunes update.  I recommend following the steps below:
    Resolution
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
    Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
    Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
    Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
    Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
I understand that you have already uninstalled iTunes, but when you get to this step, it is important to uninstall iTunes and the related components in the order listed in the link for that step.
