ITunes Error Message when trying to eject IPod

My Ipod Classic (30GB) gives me an error message when trying to eject:
Any ideas other than "Restore Ipod"? I did this and it worked afterward with another ipod but I don't want to have to do this all the time! Thanks to anyone who can assist.

Hello,
You may want to take a look at the article below for some more information on iMovie for iOS, specifically the section titled "What is a theme"

When trying to eject iPOD, getting error message ..."cannot be ejected because it contains files that are in use by another application". No other application is open but iTUNES. What does this mean? and are there any tricks to get it to eject?

Usually this is caused when antivirus "Grabs" the drive to scan it in the background, and/or windows itself "Grabs" the drive for indexing and things. It also happens if you play a song off the ipod thru iTUnes, then stop it.
Usually rebooting will force it to let go

  • Error messages when trying to sync iPod

I get an error message when syncing my ipod touch 4th generation saying that it could not start a Sync because a sync was already in progress, which is untrue...

I would try rebooting your computer. To be more confident, I would also reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

  • Error message when trying to eject external hard drive

I'm trying to eject an external hard drive (I've tried all of the prompts multiple times) and continue to get the error message, "The volume can’t be ejected because it’s currently in use.".  Has anybody run into this?

Well... I did it the "wrong" way and turned off the hard drive before ejecting it.  Of course my Mac "yelled" at me.  When I tested to make sure the HD was working properly it seemed to and then ejected easily.  Who knows???

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Error message when trying to eject

I get this message: "The iPOD cannot be ejected because it contains files that are in use by another application."
I don't have any other applications open... other than itunes. I've never received this message before.
    Can anyone help?

Quit iTunes and restart the computer. While the computer is restarting, right after it shuts off and right before it turns on, the iPod will stop flashing the "Do Not Disconnect" screen. When it does, unplug it.
Could be iTunes, or any anti-virus/security application you're running. Worse comes to worst, just shut the computer off altogether.

  • IPod Updates with error message when trying to upgrade iPod software

We now have 3 iPods (2 3rd generation, 1 2nd generation), which are sync'd with a single iMac (running Leopard) with different checked play lists. When either of the 2 3rd generation iPods are attached, it indicates an upgrade is available (v1.1) but when selected indicates "problem downloading the iPod software for the iPod x. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation"
    What configuration change is needed?

  • ITUNES ERROR MESSAGE WHEN TRYING TO OPEN

i just downloaded itunes to use with my iphone, and when i try to open it i get this error:
"the itunes library.itl is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have permission for this file."
i don't understand what this means, and i have no idea how to resolve the problem.
i have windows 7 if that helps

You might need to check and make sure that you have Read/Write permission on the iTunes folder (Start>My Computer>C:/>Program Files) Right the iTunes folder and click properties and make sure that it is Read and Write. If so, try downloading a program called Tweak UI and that should help (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1866) Let me know if that helps

  • Error message when trying to update ipod software

I have OS 10.3.9 but am getting the following message...,
You cannot install this software on this volume. This update requires OS 10.2.8 or higher. Please advise. Thanks.

If you're trying to install the updater onto your iPod directly, you can't. Instead, install the iPod updater onto your hard disk, and then open the /Applications/Utilities/iPod Software Updater folder. There should be one or more copies of the iPod updater inside this folder; double-click the most recent copy. Once the iPod updater has opened with the iPod plugged in, click the Update button and then follow the onscreen instructions to complete the update. If you get a message telling you the updater couldn't find a firmware image, choose the Update iPod command from the Options menu to continue with the update.
