since my phone was jailbroken i had to restore to get ios 6. everything was fine till it turned back on and my phone is back to factory mode. i trie to get my apps and data back on but i get the error "0xe800000a" i have a 3gs btw

If the phone was hacked to unlock it, it will not be able to activate until and unless the original carrier authorizes unlocking it. Since the UK carriers will not authorize an unlock for a phone that is not actively in use on their network, and you will not be able to activate it on any network until after it is unlocked, you will most likely not be able to activate and use it at all. It's a catch-22.
Return it to whereever you bought it and get a refund. Then buy a phone from a legitimate source.

Hello, i have an iPhone 3g 8gb, when trying to restore to the latest firmware (4.2.1), at the last moment of restore, when its nearly finished, it stays on the apple screen on phone with the little bar for restore then when you think its done it comes up with error 1002? Any help guys? Thanks

That error often indicates a hardware failure.Try restoring a few more times. If it consistently gives you that error, make an appointment at the genius bar to have it looked at.

I have not restored device so have all my data on it still. Am not pluggin it in for first time, did this originally when setting up phone. I have an option to restore to original backup as well as 'set up as new'. What happens if I chose the 'restore from backup' option.' how do I go about backing it up first - if i right click 'iphone'' option on left hand side under devices the only option is'eject' or 'restore'. I recommend trying this method if you see an "error 1669" when restoring your iPhone:
Check for hardware issues
Related errors: 1, 3, 10-47, 1002, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1000-1020, 1669.
Try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good. Also, confirm your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers. If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.

so i have a 3gs 6.1.3
i want to restore because my phone is a bit glitchy now
so when i go to itunes and try to update and restore
it says extracting software and after that verifying iphone restore with apple
it sometimes stucks there or gives me a "this iphone could not be restored error 3014
and sometimes "The iphone cannot be restored at this time because iphone software update server could not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable please try again later "

Itunes error when launching app

Receiving an error when I try to load iTunes from my Desktop - The iTunes Library.itl file cannot be found or created. The default location for this file is in the iTunes folder in the Music folder.
Looking in the Music folder I do not see this file. But do see an iTunes Music folder with all my music.
What am I missing? Not really computer literate, so I'm probably missing something really easy. Just trying to get all my music back, it's on my Ipod Classic but am thinking of buying an Ipod touch so would like to be able to access and download to new Ipod.

QuickTime failed to intialize. Error # 63441
here's what we'll try first with that one.
Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. then use it to clear any existing QuickTime installation configuration information from your PC:

1. On the Start menu, click My Computer (or double-click My Computer on the Desktop).
2. In My Computer, open Local Disk.
3. Open Program Files.
4. Right-click on the QuickTime folder and click Delete from the shortcut menu.
5. Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\.
6. Remove the files QuickTime.qts and QuicktimeVR.qtx.
7. Restart your computer.
next, we'll try to get a fresh copy of QuickTime into your PC by doing a repair install of itunes.
switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the repair install.
go into Add/Remove and select itunes. click "Change" and then click "Repair".
if the repair install goes through okay, restart the PC and try launching itunes again. does it launch properly now?

ITunes error when file converting 0x77686174

Using iTunes v.7, I get this error when trying to import a CD in AAC format, after the first song is imported. It doesn't do this with iTunes 6.0.5, or any other computer program that rips music. I thought, what the heck, I'll just use AIFF for the initial importing (thinking it was just not working due to CD being a little scratched or something), and then re-convert to AAC.
Well, it is giving me the error 0x77686174 regardless whenever I try to touch AAC. Again, it doesn't do this in anything else or a previous iTunes version. Any ideas? Thanks.

Nevermind, I just downloaded iTunes 7.0.1 or whatever that just came out, and it's all good now.

Disk Utility error when restoring a drive to another drive: Error 6

"Device not configured."
I have a 24" iMac with a 250gig hard drive, and a firewire enclosure with a 160 gig hard drive. The iMac has a windows partition that I am trying to back up on the firewire drive, so that I can repartition and make the windows section bigger, but I keep getting errors when trying to restore.
If I uncheck erase destination, and then click restore, it starts to copy for a few minutes, but after 2-3 gigs of copying I get another error:
"Restore Failure An error (2) occurred while copying. No such file or directory"
This happens again and again and again and again. Any ideas?

Thanks for the different responses. Just a few more details. My internal hd is only using 63 of 100g.
So I don't think the disk space issue for disk utility would be the answer to my particular problem. I have also tried using superduper to back up this same drive; however, it would not complete the task either. Would it be better to just back up the user folders separately and maybe the applications folder and then just use the mac os dvd's to install on my new drive? ( I don't guess backing up the applications folder would do any good; they would have to all be reinstalled. ) Just trying to find a way to get this done without having to do to much reinstall work. Any other ideas?

RMAN error when restoring controlfile from tape

We have a Production database with instance name PROD.
We use Symantec Netbackup software to backup this database to tape library.
We want to test some recovery scenarios on a test server. So we want to restore the production backups from Tape to this test server.
We did the following:
Cloned the ORACLE Home to the Test Server.
Changed the db_name parameter to PROD and also set ORACLE_SID to PROD.
then we connected to RMAN and ran the following command to restore the control files:
