ITunes failes to upgrade

I'm stuck at 7.4.3.1 because all new versions made available since then have failed to install.
Using the software update, the only error is "Errors occurred while installing the updates. If the problem persists, choose Tools > Download Only and try installing manually".
When I try to install iTunes manually (ie. iTunes.msi), it errors out and says "The installation of QuickTime did not complete successfully. iTunes requires QuickTime."
If I try to install what I assume is just QT (QuickTime.msi) it goes through all the motions and in the end says that "QuickTime installer completed" but "the installer encountered errors before the requested operations could be completed". I've also tried uninstalling the current install of QT through appwiz but it won't uninstall. The progress bar reaches almost all the way to the end, and then rolls back to the beginning, and the install stays behind.
Seriously...I'm at my wits end here.
Any/all help is greatly appreciated, TIA.

I'm having the same problems updating to the latest version of iTunes. I tried the automatic update - it did not work - I tried down loading ONLY and running the itunes setup EXE file separately but that too did not work. The current error message I receive is: "The installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured. To retry these operations at a later time, please run installer again, click finish to exit installer."
Another error I also receive when the old version of iTunes starts up is: "iTunes cannot locate the CD configuration folder so you cannot import or burn CD's and DVD's. This folder must be in the same directory as itunes."
If I delete the iTunes current software and re-download the newest version will all my music and videos also be deleted which I imported or purchased and down loaded into the my iTunes library be affected by this deletion?

ITunes Match and failing to upgrade some of my tracks

Does anyone know why ITunes Match sometimes fails to upgrade certain popular tracks to 256 AAC when it's established that the song/track exists in the Itune store? I just completed the reorganization of my ITunes library today after using iTunes Match to upgrade the compression quality of my songs. And out of approximately 1100 songs, iTunes Match failed to upgrade the compression quality on about a 100 of these tracks. It's not a big deal but I do find it very interesting with popular tracks. As just one example to make my point, Sheryl Crow's 1998 hit My Favorite Mistake was not converted from the current 128 kbps to 256. I could list a number of others that I see in the ITunes Store. And it doesn't make any sense. If the song is in the ITunes store, it should be making a match with the tracks in my library. All of my music meets the minimum compression quality to be eligible for upgrades to 256 AAC under the ITunes Match service. Any thoughts/feedback from anyone? Thanks.

Dave, same problem here. And I did go in as admin to Administrative Tools, Services, Apple Mobile Devices and tried restarting the service. It seems there is a bug with the newest update, period. All of the normal "easy" steps don't work. Before I remove all of Apple's programs, including Bonjour....I'm running a full system scan.
But the answer will be to remove all of the Apple stuff, then reboot, then use whatever utility you have to remove all temp files...then go download and install it again. This has worked for several people (I read the thread before posting). Win 7 64bit. It just seems that Apple did not thoroughly test this new version. Period.
If Apple reads this...I have many computers...and whenever Apple wants to update something...it just about stops everything else that is going on. Total memory hog, even with 16G RAM and dual quad core processors. It has to learn to play nice with others.
After the scan and I'm sure an hour or two of work...I'll re-post.
Of course if you do image back-ups, as I do, you can simply restore your drive to its previous state and run the previous version of iTunes, declining the update, until Apple gets it right. Depending on the size of your drive, this could take hours. It is a matter of choice, of course.

There are hundreds (and still counting) problems with 3gs activation after upgrading to iOS 6.1.
No one fixed it yet. The possible reason is that jailbroken 3gs' unable to be updated to 6.1 operation system.

My internet connection stops after attempting to connect to the iTunes store after upgrading to Mountain Lion.

Same here (iPhone 5S). And a friend of mine has the same problem on his iPhone 5. I just installed the newest iOS update (7.1.2) and the problem persists. Although it seems to affect several people yet I can't find anything related to this on the web. If I really want deliberately to trigger the problem I just need to delete a song from the music app and the message will pop up for sure. I am also somewhat reluctant to do a full restore because frankly I expect the same outcome as the thread starter. So hopefully Apple will fix this soon. The main reason for me to buy a $ 800+ phone is to have a device that 'just works' but apparently that's long gone since iOS 7...

ITune fails to "download" iOS 5....

I've been trying to upgrade my iPhone 4 with iOS 5.
I use iTunes 10.5.0.142 on Windows Seven, French version, in Paris.
I tried about 6 times and it fails the same way whatever happen
(I disabled the firewall, then the anti-virus, I also tried to "keep the connection" by going regularly on the iTunes Store, etc...).
Simply put, when the download reaches about 380 MB out of 700 MB, I have a message like '...problem, the network connection expired...'.
The newtork is just fine!
I have an effective bandwidth of about 11 MBits/s and I am able to download large files.
So, my guess is that iTunes must have some sort of problem when "dealing with the file".

ITunes crashing after upgrading to 7.3

I have tried several times to upgrade to 7.3. Each time, when I launch iTunes after the upgrade finishes (either via the automated update or via a fresh download), I get the following error message:
iTunes: iTunes.exe - Application Error
The instruction at "0x7c911e58" referenced memory at "0xc433011e". The memory could not be "read".
I cannot get past this error message and need to downgrade to 7.2. Help!

let's first check to see if this is associated with a problem with your QuickTime. (iTunes needs a properly functioning QuickTime in order to work correctly.)
try launching your QuickTime. does it:
(a) launch perfectly fine?
(b) fail to launch with an error message? (if so, what does it say?)
(c) exhibit other peculiar behavior? (if so, could you describe it for us?)

ITunes fails to launch when iPhone 5 is connected

With the 11.1.3 (8) upgrade, iTunes fails to launch when my iPhone 5 is connected to my MacPro. iPhoto launches automatically, as expected. When I manually launch iTunes, it will recognize the phone, but I must manually sync it and back it up. When I select the iPhone, open SUMMARY and view Options (at the bottom of the page), Options, the box that says "Automatically sync when this iPhone is connected" is grayed-out and cannot be checked or selected. I've re-downloaded and re-installed iTunes, to no avail. Any tips on how to restore this basic functionality?

Followed these instructions with a few changes. (Windows 7 x64)
Uninstalled programs in the following order:
- Itunes
- Apple Application Support
- Apple Software Update
- Bonjour
- Apple Mobile Device Support (uninstall failed due to Apple Mobile Device failure)***
- Restarted System
- Redownloaded Itunes from website.
- Run installer as Administratot
- Succefully installed
***To uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support
- Right clicked on Apple Mobile Device Support, Clicked Charge (second option), Repair, Next (failed to repari)
- Right clicked the Apple Mobile Device Support in the Programs and Features window and clicked Repair (third option in drop down list). (repaired successfully)
- Uninstall successful after the repair.
Below is a guess at a quicker solution:
Looking at the uninstalls, it may be worth trying to repair the Apple Mobile Device Support through the Program and Features window before trying to uninstall everything. It may be a faster fix for the freezing service. After the repair is successful the itunes update may work.

Unit test fails after upgrading to Kodo 4.0.0 from 4.0.0-EA4

I have a group of 6 unit tests failing after upgrading to the new Kodo
4.0.0 (with BEA) from Kodo-4.0.0-EA4 (with Solarmetric). I'm getting
exceptions like the one at the bottom of this email. It seems to be an
interaction with the PostgreSQL driver, though I can't be sure. I
haven't changed my JDO configuration or the related classes in months
since I've been focusing on using the objects that have already been
defined. The .jdo, .jdoquery, and .java code are below the exception,
just in case there's something wrong in there. Does anyone have advice
as to how I might debug this?

I have read many forums about deleting, reinstalling, de-authorizing and authorizing my iMac through the iTunes store. Many suggestions don't work except to rename the movie to *.MP4 in Finder under the iTunes movie directory. I imagine this is a setting or a bug somewhere... any suggestions on how to bypass having to rename the files in Finder? My research into Google suggests this problem dates back to 2007 or so but it is now more prevalent than ever.
