There were no error codes. I went to the download site and started to download. Popup window appeared and then when I clicked on save, the window disappeared, but no download appeared in the download folder.

Try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:

If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

iTunes fails to load with windows XP. Getting error message "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling my correct." Reinstalling does not correct. It appears associated with temporary files but deleting them and restarting does not help. Can you help me?

1-beacause failure of download occures after downloading around 300 MB or so. there's no reason for the AV or firewall to allow downloading 300 mb then block the remaining.
2- disabling AV and firewall wont help
3-it's only with apple site
4- download is so slow
5- resuming download never worked, always start from the begining wich indicates programming errors not firewall errors

ITune fails to "download" iOS 5....

Hi,
I've been trying to upgrade my iPhone 4 with iOS 5.
I use iTunes 10.5.0.142 on Windows Seven, French version, in Paris.
I tried about 6 times and it fails the same way whatever happen
(I disabled the firewall, then the anti-virus, I also tried to "keep the connection" by going regularly on the iTunes Store, etc...).
Simply put, when the download reaches about 380 MB out of 700 MB, I have a message like '...problem, the network connection expired...'.
The newtork is just fine!
I have an effective bandwidth of about 11 MBits/s and I am able to download large files.
So, my guess is that iTunes must have some sort of problem when "dealing with the file".
==> How to upgrade iOS 5 when iTunes fails ? and I don't want to lose my data... :-)

ITunes fails to download artwork for each and every album!

Hi!
The Get Artwork feature seems to totally fail. Right clicking an album, then Get Artwork, gives error: "Artwork for [band name] - [album] could not be found".
This happens for every album I have, even though all my MP3s are correctly tagged with the Artist name and album.
Any suggestions?

I just got a new laptop and am trying to download iTunes. It will download a little but, the farthest being 40%, but then it fails and says it isnt a valid Win32 application. I have Windows 7 and probably the newest Internet Explorer.

ITunes Fails To Download iOS For iPod Touch In Recovery

I have an iPod Touch 5 (without camera) that was messed with by someone and ended up disabled for 45 years. As waiting 45 years until I can put in the pass code is not practical, *snickers* I put the iPod into Recovery Mode and went to restore it on iTunes (latest version running on Windows 8), and it wants to update the software to the latest version with the restore. All is well and it starts downloading the around 1.4GB software download. My internet is fairly slow currently. It will get awhile in (about 70-80mb) and a message pops up saying that the internet connection timed out or some similar message appears. When I try again it completely restarts the download. I have tried about three times. I have also restarted the computer. How can I get it to download or even skip the update completely? I have 45 years but id like to get it fixed sooner. lol

It is safe to use but frequently the iPod encountered an error and got the iPod in recovery mode and you have to restore the iPod to correct the error,

I purchased an audio book - this has been paid for. But there was a problem with the download. I am not able to resume download as iTunes does not recognise a purchase has been made. Audiobooks are currently a one-time only download, so if it didn't download successfully to the Music app, and it's not in the Downloads tab in the iTunes store app for resuming, then you will need to contact iTunes Support to get a re-download.
By 'no other device' do you mean that you haven't got a computer to do 'report a problem' from your purchase history ? If you have a computer : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account (Store > View My Apple ID on iTunes 11) and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that audiobook and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
If you don't have a computer (or if the above 'report a problem' doesn't work, which for some people it doesn't appear to, it takes them to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes), then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purhcases, Billing & Redemption

ITunes failed to download the entire song I purchases. Help!

I just downloaded some songs but only about half of them downloaded... I don't know how to fix it. Does anyone know?

This is really a bug, that Apple is trying to solve. You're probably converting it to .mp3. The only thing you could do, is first rip your CD to .aiff and then convert those songs to .mp3 or whatever you like.

Hi there, I preordered the new Foo Fighters album the first day you could preorder the album. Since then I have deauthorized my account from my machine, formatted, and then reauthorized. The pre-order still shows up under my account but it won't download. Any ideas?

ITunes 11.0.2 (Win 7 Pro, 64-bit) previously purchased downloads (cloud) fail (repeat 6x)

Summary: Under a fresh install of Windows 7 Professional (64-bit) with all patches applied, verified malware free (Sophos rootkit and virus detection tools and a Microsoft Security scan) iTunes fails to download previous purchases and then store/commit them on the computer.
Detailed Description: What I am presented with is a list of songs that are not on my PC but I can re-download. I click the litle cloud icon and the download begins. But after the file downloads it won't process/transfer into my library and cycles through 5 more attempts. (The little grey Harvey ball icon starts out empty, slowly fills in a clockwise pattern, and when 100% grey (full) it repeats.
Eventually iTunes gives a non-descriptive failure message. I'm stuck.
What I've tried to do:
I've tried several things, including:
- Reinstalling iTunes (with reboots inbetween)
- Turning off then on the iTunes "Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases"
- Reviewing permissions of iTunes directory (per other Apple KB articles and forum advice)
- Reviewing iTunes and supporting file folders/directories for missing things like the 'SC info' directory.
- Exiting iTunes, killing iTunes processes and iTunes Helper, renaming the iTunes folder "OLD-iTunes" and restarting iTunes to create new iTunes subfolders and again testing the downloads from the cloud -- which fail. I then restore my old iTunes directory, exit iTunes (and kill processes) and start iTunes again.
- Checking IE 10 security settings (even though I'm not using IE 10 as my browser, there are apparently ActiveX and other security setting implications that affect the overall system. Learned that when initially trying to install iTunes in the first place.)
- Deauthorizing / reauthorizing the machine
- Calling Apple Support who couldn't figure it out.
Any ideas that aren't inane or ones already tried above?

Nothing I tried helped. Apple Support couldn't figure it out.
I suspect it had to do with a security patch that MS recently issued then promptly recalled due to failures it caused on many users' systems. I am merely speculating, based on some of the odd errors I saw and the timing of the events.
Alongside the iTunes issue, there were other system errors and security problems I had noticed; namely with Java apps and the built-in security controls of the system. (Again, assuming I was malware-free since I did deep testing with 2 Microsoft tools and some Sophos tools which yielded clean results.)
Nevertheless, I did not solve my problem with technical intelligence. Instead, I wiped the machine and did a fresh install of Windows 7 and then copied my files back into place. (I did NOT do a system restore as to avoid reintroducing a problem from a known bad installation.)
That was only a 5 or 6 hour committmenet but "solved" my problem.
