Itunes fails to sync app updates with iphone
Having moved my iphone to a new computer, app updates now fail to automatically transfer to iphone - any ideas?
I am having the same problem.
I don't use too many apps or connect to my PC too often so this is strange.

I get this error message
iTunes can not sync apps to the iPhone because it can not be determined which apps are installed on the iPhone.
iTunes kann keine Apps mit dem iPhone synchronisieren weil nicht festgestellt werden kann welche Apps auf dem iPhone installiert sind.
Need HelpBasic troubleshooting is reset, restart, restore. Have the first two been tried?
How about simply unplugging the iPhone and plugging it back in to sync?
What has been done in an attempt to troubleshoot the issue? -
Itunes will not sync app updates to phone
Syncing phone to itunes on Win8. Set to sync music manually. After downloading all app updates to laptop, syncing does not update apps on phone. Thoughts?

You may want to try to manually manage the music on your iPod touch. You can do this by following the directions in the following article, and attempting to sync your music that way:

If you do not wish to manually manage your music, you can also try to sync automatically, but first you will want to sync the iPod with the "Sync Music" box checked, but no boxes checked in the fields for Genre, Album, Artist, or Playlist. Then choose the items you would like to sync from those fields and attempt to sync them again. This will wipe out the music that is on your iPod now, but may allow you to sync the music back onto the iPod after that. Thanks for coming to the Apple Support Communities!

Can't get iTunes to sync and update with iPhone 5. Help!
I can't get itunes to sync some metadata over to my iphone 5. For example, for all of my metadata for Orianthi is correct, but When I choose her on my iphone, it shows thw songs all broken up followed by artwork from AC/DC! So I opened itunes, made sure all metadata was correct and then connected my phone to sync. Nothing. It doesnt change my music on the iphone to match itunes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Ok, ran updates, found 3 new updates and after this was done all was well again. Still not sure why it only affected the touch and iphone, but guess i don't need to LOL.

If these apps were not purchased by you, having them is effectively software piracy and you should purchase them using your own AppleID if you want to keep hem. -

When syncing Apps on my iPhone 5 through iTunes, they are all greyed over and I cannot make any changes. How can I fix this. It never happened with my iPhone 4
Connect your device to iTunes and in the the window were all the apps are greyed out make sure the 'Sync Apps' checkbox (top left corner) is selected.

my iphone 3gs is charging on the wall charger but wont charge on the pc, have cleaned it, yet it can sync and update with itunes easily, but it still wont charge, have tried several cables as well same effect.
1) authorize iTunes on your wife's user account for her iTunes store account(s)
2) connect the device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred her purchases in the previous step, your content will be in her library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it. -
I wanted to sync my iphone 4 (cdma). I have synced it before successfully. I am getting an error "itunes cannot sync apps to the iphone because the apps installed on the iphone cannot be determined" and the apps and items follwoing apps in syncing (photos for example) will not sync. Items prior to apps synced (calendar/contacts). I restarted both my iphone (currently on ios 4.2.8) and my computer, itunes was on 10.6.1, same problem. I installed itunes 10.6.3, same problem. I had been waiting to update ios to 5.1.1 and would like to do that now, but wanted to sync first. Anyone have any ideas? I am stumped! Thank you.

First message I get when I connect the iphone is
"The software on iphone has expired and must be updated to a newer version"
Then it tries to backup but I get
"Itunes cannot sync apps to the iphone because the apps installed on the iphone could not be determined"
When I click check for updates it says I have the latest version (5.0)
When I try to restore I always get "iTunes could not backup the iphone because a session could not be started with the iphone. Please disconnect and reconnect the iphone, then try again"
Tried that MANY times but no luck.
This iphone was on a developper account but it is not anymore (removed from developper account).
I'm the administrator on my PC. When I'm on the summary of my iphone it shows N/A as my phone number.
Back up to icloud doesn't work because I didn't set it up before it stopped working
When I try to activate it directly from the iphone I always get "Could not activate iphone. Your iphone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarely unavailable..." (for the past 3 weeks :s)

I get the message "iTunes could not sync calendars to the iPhone "name" because the sync server failed to sync the iPhone" every time I sync the iPhone 3GS with iTunes by USB. Can anyone help? Please !!!!

I haven't seen it mentioned but the secret is to
Sync only selected calendars
Select "Remove Calendars" from the popup window
(This is ambigous: from where are the calendars removed? From the device being synced to)
Click apply.
Oops! My memory is already gone stale. I think I left no calendars selected, then clicked apply. Then I selected the calendars that I wanted, then clicked apply.
In any case, I had a blank calendar on my iPad and then I had all the updated events that I wanted on my iPad.

itunes cannot sync app to the iphone' my_iphone_name_here'because the apps installed on the iphone could not be determinedI also got this message when trying to sync my 3G iPhone. I followed several suggestions found here: tried restarting everything, then changing automatic updates in iTunes. I also tried the "scan for hardware changes" suggestion, but nothing worked. Then as per the above posters, I also went into iTunes, selected Apps, and went to the bottom right to get App updates. A list of needed updates appeared with the icons, and as they updated, the icon would disppear, until I was left with "SoundCloud". It appeared to update fine, but the icon remained. I clicked "get update" a couple of times on the icon....it would update but the icon stayed on the list. I tried to sync after this and still got the error. . Then I then deleted SoundCloud from the phone, and the sync worked fine. SoundCloud was reinstalled on my phone during Step 4 of the sync. Hope this helps!!
