ITunes file corrupted. Cannot uninstall or repair

My iTunes had been working fine then out of the blue, it would no longer work. I could not start iTunes by itself. If I plug in my ipod, itunes gives me a message saying "itunes was not installed properly..." When I click ok, iTunes runs normally. However, if I try to double click the icon on the desktop, windows installer starts to run and then I get an error message saying "error writing to file: C:\ProgramFiles\iTunes\iTunes.Resources\da.lproj\iTunesHelp.chem Verify that you have access to that directory" I looked into this file and da.lproj is corrupted somehow and cannot open. I tried uninstalling and repairing neither work and always give me the error code 2330 before it is finished. Can anybody tell me why my iTunes is messed up and how to fix it?

iTunes should reinstall properly if you follow the process in the second box even if you can't get the iTunes uninstaller to run.

Hi,
Before going further, we can check whether this was caused by software restriction policy. To check out, we can go to Control Panel->Administrative
Tools ->Local Security Settings-> Software Restriction Policies.
Besides, this issue can be caused by corrupted registry keys. In this case, we can click
Run button in the following page to fix it.

TS3297 itunes files corrupt

Any suggestions on how to fix itunes files corrupted? I have uninstalled and re-installed itunes and all Apple items on my PC 3 times and nothing is working.

Itunes corrupted cannot uninstall

My itunes says it is corrupted and I cannot uninstall it. I have tried Revo and it still appears. I just want to update my itunes to a current version. I am running version 8.

(If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

Cannot Uninstall or Repair Itunes 7.6.2 on Windows XP

So a while ago I noticed the itunes store could not connect, it would says there was no network connection while I was clearly connected to the internet. I left it as is but itunes eventually stopped recognizing my ipod and then stopped working altogether. Whenever I try to uninstall or repair it says "could not write value to key \Software\Classes\.m4v verify that you have sufficient access to that key or contact your support personnel".
I don't know what to do and any help would be much appreciated.

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. Now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair".
Does iTunes launch properly now?

Apple hasn't replied, but I believe I have found the answer. If I disable Norton Antivirus's "autoprotect" feature, iTunes works perfectly. If I turn it back on, I get all of the symptons described above.
Whether this is a bug in Norton or iTunes remains to be seen, but one of them is badly misbehaving.

I can't open iTunes and I cannot uninstall it. What do I do?

I have a windows 7 PC and it says that windows installer isn't working properly when I try to uninstall and reinstall iTunes, and that is waht it is telling me to do when I open iTunes. See i tried updating iTunes earliar and it said that an error occured, then I tried re opening iTunes and it will not let me!!! This is driving me crazy, apple doesn't seem like they're much help. Itunes file corrupt

I have my itunes library on an external hard drive. Yesterday I tried opening iTunes but was getting an error after repeated attempts. I noticed there was an upgrade available for 10.7 so I ungraded and continued to get the error.
Only after I upgraded did I realize the error was because my external drive was full and only had 8kb left of it! After freeing up some room I am now able to launch iTunes except now it launches with an empty library. I've tried repointing iTunes to that folder by holding down option when I launch. I've also tried manually launching from my itunes libarary by dragging on dropping my itunes icons on the itunes folder.
I have a feeling the update corrupted my library file. I have an update from awhile back but have since added music and made changes. Is going to the backup my only option?

Unable to install iTunes 5.0, cannot uninstall apple software updater

I am trying to update iTunes from ver 10.3.3 to 15.5.1.4 with no luck!! I can d/l the file, wneh it goes to install it through the update tool, I get an error saying the resource is unavailable, i have searched my entire hard drive for the file "applesoftwareupdate.msi" and its not here. Trying to remove it will not work either due to missing file. I have tried to manually remove the software tool with no luck. I am using windows xp. Is there anything i can do before i go through the grueling task of doing a full windows recovery?? Thanks for your time.

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Software Update entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

HELP, Install of backup itune files failed

Upgrade to Win 7 required reinstall of iTunes (same version as used for backup of itune files). Cannot get itune files (music, podcasts, books) to appear in iTunes.
All the files are there. If go to edit preferences, Advanced, changing iTunes media folder location (to file where I see the files that should be)does not do anything. Both keep media folder organized and copy files to itunes media folder... are both ticked.
Should I uninstall the itunes? If so, what then?

I was finally able to correct my problem, easily. I was able to open itunes, and under file>add folder to library, add the folder that contained all of my music, podcasts, etc. This appears to have done the trick.

I receive the message: The file "iTunes library.itl"cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of itunes. I do not know exactly what this means. I have Windows 7 on my computer and was able access itunes until just recently. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling itunes multiple times and that does not work. Sometimes I can get in when immediately after installing, but then if I close it, i cannot get back in. Now, i can't get in at all.

That message is usually a sign that you tried to roll back to an earlier build of iTunes, but occasionally I've seen it connected to a new upgrade. This technique should fix things.
Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

Unless you've recently attempted to downgrade iTunes this is probably a sign of a corrupt library file. See Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash.
