Itunes file modified date/time
Ok, so I know for sure this is related to me travelling to Florida and back, and changing the timezone on my system (Windows 7). So I started with all of the music in my itunes at MST, went to and changed to EST, then came back MST. This is when the problem occurred:
On a playlist, if I sort by date modified, I'll see one date (Say its Sep 1 2011, 10:00 am). If I double click the file it will appear as if it moved randomly, BUT the modified timestamp now says Sept 1 2011, 8:00 am. What in the world is this behavior? I don't much feel like double clicking every song to fix this... do I need to completely remove and readd all songs to fix? And why did it happen in the first place; am I going to need to do this every time I change time zones?
itunes 7.6.2
I had the same annoying problem: iTunes would hesitate at the beginning of a song and then resume playing it. This affected ALL tracks in my 17,000+ library. No quarter.
My fix was to uncheck crossfade playback in preferences. I have never used sound check nor sound enhancer so those boxes remained unchecked.
Worked for me and ALL tracks play now with no stutter.
Hope this helps some.

Identify modified date/time and name of SOURCE file
I can't seem to find a way to store/retrieve the last-modified date/time of the SOURCE file (as well as filename) used to create a PDF. I looked into the default metadata, but it seems to store only the last-modified date of the PDF.
I'm sorry, maybe I'm a little slow, but I would need more detailed specs on how to solve the problem. Is this something you have implemented yourself? If so, how?

IPhoto: Retain modified date&time details when re-importing
Instead of having all my photos in just one iPhoto library, I am now moving out photos into separate iPhoto libraries to better manage my photos:
... Export photos from existing/old library
... Re-import photos into newly-created library
Some of my existing photos have modified date & time (result of not checking camera clock after a service!)
Is there a way to retain these modified details when exporting photos from the OLD library and re-importing them into the NEW library?
I am really hoping not to re-edit the photo attributes
Thanks in advance
Message was edited by: auroranightI am using iPhoto 6.0.6 I do not know of any option "modify original photo". Other than 'batch change' there is no option.
You are posting in the iPhoto '08 forum and will get iPhoto '08 answers here - if you want iPhoto 6 answers it is best to post in the iPhoto 6 forum
I xferred the pics from my camera to a new folder on my desktop. The times are all correct in that folder.
Again - how are you seeing that the time is correct? iPhoto looks at the EXIF data and the finder looks at the file data - how are you seeing the EXIF data on the desktop? EXIF viewer - http://homepage.mac.com/aozer/EV/index.html - is a useful utility to have to see the EXIF data
You can create a fresh plist - that might be the issue but I doubt it - quit iPhoto and in the finder to to "your username" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist and delete it - launch iPhoto and reset any personal user preferences you have changed and if you have moved the location of the iPhoto library repoint iPhoto to it

Hi Everyone,
Happy New Year! I have a question. I have a 2012 MacBook Pro running 10.10.1 connected to a Seagate GoFlex Home NAS. This is the main storage location for all my files (work and personal). I am having a very annoying problem, all my file modified dates are showing September 2029! When I access the same file in my Windows 7 VM the date is correct. The date and time are set correctly in OS X and on the NAS drive. Any ideas?Hi Allan,
The issue was caused by the date on the NAS being set to automatic. I manually set the correct time, and all was ok after!
Hope this works for you!

Add Audit Columns to the Dimension and Fact tables (Created & modified date Time)
Hi All,
I am new to SSIS , I have to Add Audit Columns to the Dimension and Fact tables (Created & modified date Time) of the package.
Please let me know the best and easy way through which I can implement the same.
If possible suggest some real time example or link where I can find the same
Regards,
Vipin jha
Thankx & regards, Vipin jha MCPYou can simply use ALTER TABLE ADD.. syntax to add the columns if the tables already exist.
You can generate a single script for all tables using INFORMATION_SCHEMA.TABLES view
You can make then of NOT NULL type and set the default value to GETDATE()
In addition you can also have a Audit Trail trigger for UPDATE to make sure Modified date gets updated correctly on each update if not passed explicitly.

Date Modified Date/Time Issues on Files Exported to Excel
Hello -
I am using Crystal Reports XI, Release 2 and Visual Studio 2005 Enterprise Edition for my ASP.NET application.
CrystalReports dll version : 11.5.3700.0
.NET Framework 2.0.50727
I use the CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument to export a report to Excel (ExportFormatType.Excel).
When you view the exported file in Excel 2007 (just open and close it, making no changes), the Date Modified date of the file changes to whatever date/time the file was last viewed. I have also noticed this same behavior when exporting to Excel from Crystal, using a vendor desktop application that is written in C++ and uses Crystal XI.
Does anyone else experience this issue and have a resolution?
Edited by: Meg Thickman on Feb 3, 2009 8:59 AMHi Meg,
Just to clarify did you mean viewing the PDF?:
"Why would/should the file system date change merely by viewing the report?"
Our exported files are not linked to the master RPT file.
As I indicated the XLS file is likely in an older format and Excel is detecting and updating something which the file system then detects a change and updates the date stamp. Or excel is writing something back to the file. Did you notice if the file size changed or possibly the byte hash?
This is not something we are going to be able change. For compatability reasons we cannot stop Excel from updating the file.
As a work around add the Data Date field to your reports and your auditors can use that as the reference. It will reflect the actual date and time the report was run. Or use Excel API's to update the file format once the report has been exported in your code. You may also want to check with Microsoft to see if it's an option in Excel not to update the format or possibly a registry key to disable the option.
Thanks again

My Podcast in iTunes not showing Date, Time, Description.
Hello
I recorded my Podcast through GB Exported to Disk>Desktop> Then I used Rapidweaver I guess to publish it. but when iTunes receives the Podcast for some reason Date, Time and Episode Description is missing. newbie thanks in advance.None of your episodes have playable media: it's necessary for each episode to have an 'enclosure' tag containing the URL of a media file - mp3. m4a, mp4, m4v, or mov - without this iTunes will not display the episodes. You say it was working before, so something has been done to the feed to change it.
Following the link from the top episode:
http://expertenough.com/1123/18-expert-quotes
produces what is basically a weblog entry with no sign of any media. -
Hi, I have a question about getting file name. When I use list method (import java.io.file) I can get all the files names under the directory I give. I am just wondering if I can get each file's modified date. If yes, how?
Thanks in advance!use listFiles. you will get an array of File objects.
for modified time use lastModified(). -
Smbfs file modified date not updating
When I save a file from Photoshop CS3 to an SMB share (where I have terabytes of images) it appears the Modified Date does not change after I edit. This makes it impossible to work my downstream processes which rely on looking for modified image since a certain date.
I checked against TextEdit (seems to rewrite the file which gets a new create and modified date) and TextMate where the modified date is correctly set. Also the unix touch command works fine.
Any ideas how to ensure that a file saved from Photoshop CS3 will correctly set the Modified Date on an SMB share?Usually the changes are made to the contents of the domain.sites2 folder and not the actual folder itself. As long as you edit, save and publish, the next time you open iWeb you'll see the latest version. However, be sure to backup the Domain.sites2 package frequently.

ITunes File Sharing and Time Machine
Does Time Machine backup the documents in the iTunes File Sharing pane on an iPad? If I deleted an app or file by mistake (or if my iPad crashed), would I be able to recover the file shared documents through Time Machine backups?
Thanks in advance!Anything actually stored in iTunes, docs, apps, ect, should be backed up. If you are bacing up the iPad to iTunes, those back ups files would be in Time Capsule (although I confess, I've never had to extract one).
As for apps themselves, they can always be redownloaded (both on the iPad and in iTunes on the PC). -
Idoc- File with date+time stamp, getting overwritten
Hi,
I have a scenario where in am writing Idocs from R3 to a Txt File in 3rd party system.
For an instance upon running a Tx, am generating 3 idocs. I need all these 3 idocs to be written to a single file. Hence for the file naming i have used "CREDAT_CRETIM.txt" from EDI_DC40(all idocs carry same date+time).
I have configured the file mode as Create -> using Temporary fileschema of "Ord.xfr". I need this for locking before FTP to the 3rd party system.
If i check the OVER WRITE EXISTING FILE checkbox, i get only the last idoc written to the file(overwriting previous 2 idocs).
If i Uncheck the OVER WRITE EXISTING FILE checkbox, i get only the first idoc written to the file(other 2 idocs are not written) they are shown successful in MONI.hi BRamchan,
>>>><i>If i Uncheck the OVER WRITE EXISTING FILE checkbox, i get only the first idoc written to the file(other 2 idocs are not written) they are shown successful in MONI.</i>
If you can see in moni successfully process, look in the RWB communication channel monitoring of the receiving channel, there you might find error.

Creating a spool file with date/time appended to file name
In Oracle Sql*Plus, I want to spool out a file, with the date-time stamp as part of the file name. Any idea how to do this?
Here's what I have right now:
SQL>
set serveroutput on size 200000;
rem
rem $OFSA is a UNIX alias so sql plus is talking to UNIX
rem
spool $OFSA/logs/OFSAP/common_coa_id.log;
prompt 'Enter date in mmddyyyy format, without quotes';
exec upd_common_coa_id_driver ('&date_mmddyyyy');
spool off;
As an example, I'd like to have a file with this name: common_coa_id083002.log
Thanks.In SQL*Plus this is what you can do to get the current date/time as part of the spool file:
============================================================================================
SQL> column tm new_value file_time noprint
SQL> select to_char(sysdate, 'YYYYMMDD') tm from dual ;
1 row selected.
SQL> prompt &file_time
20020816
SQL> spool C:\Temp\logfile_id&file_time..log
. /* put your code here */
. /* it will go to a file called C:\Temp\logfile_id20020816.log */
SQL> spool off

Importing in to iPhoto using file name date/time
Hi
+*I posted this originally in to iPhoto section but they suggest I submit here to see if anyone knows if there's an applescript. Thanks!*+
I'm not too sure on how to exactly explain my problem but here goes...
I have a mobile phone that does not save date/time taken data to the picture file when it takes photos. All of my previous phones/cameras have so this has never been a problem before. I Bluetooth photos and then add them to iPhoto '08.
Problem is when they add they use the date/time added to create the event rather than the date/time taken. The picture filename displays date/time taken and I was wondering if there was a way to use the filename to have iPhoto adjust the metadata tag to the actual date/time taken? This would save me having to adjust time/date for each set of photos. The filename is for example P090308_12.00.jpg if taken on 09/03/08 at 12.00pm.
I hope this is clear enough and that someone has some advice. Thanks for your help01. As per casdvm, download 'ExifTool-7.20.dmg' (872 KB in size), and install 'exiftool''.
02. Try the provided starter code, editing it according to your needs ...
--- Code starts here ---
tell application "iPhoto"
set tSelection to selection -- Obtain list of selected photos.
repeat with i in tSelection
try -- Capture any unexpected AppleScript error(s).
set imagePath to (image path of i) -- Obtain full path of file.
set imagePath to quoted form of imagePath -- Encase files' full path in single quote marks.
set {oAStid, AppleScript's text item delimiters} to {AppleScript's text item delimiters, "/"}
set imageName to last text item of imagePath as string -- Extract file name from files' full path.
set AppleScript's text item delimiters to oAStid
set imageName to get (characters 2 through ((count imageName) - 5) of imageName) as string -- Extract date and time values from file name.
set tYear to (get (characters 5 through 6 of imageName) as string) -- Extract year from file name.
if (tYear as number) > ((do shell script "date +%y") as number) then
set tYear to ("19" & tYear) as string -- Append '19' before 'tYear'.
else
set tYear to ("20" & tYear) as string -- Append '20' before 'tYear'.
end if
set createDate to tYear & "." & (get (characters 3 through 4 of imageName) as string) & "." & (get (characters 1 through 2 of imageName) as string) & " " & (get (characters 8 through 9 of imageName) as string) & "." & (get (characters 11 through 12 of imageName) as string) & ".00"
do shell script ("exiftool -DateTimeOriginal='" & createDate & "' -CreateDate='" & createDate & "' -overwriteoriginal_inplace " & imagePath) -- View 'exiftool -h' in 'Terminal'.
end try
end repeat
end tell
