Itunes Files Not Appearing

Question

I recently had to scrub my hard drive. After I reloaded Windows XP I downloaded all of my purchased songs through iTunes. The songs show up and play in iTunes, however, if I try to open them manually using My Computer or any other sort of media player the folder containing my songs is empty. And yes I am sure that i'm looking in the right place, i checked the directory

if you copied the itunes folder to your music folder and inside that itunes folder is itunes media and the itunes library.itl  then you may just need to do this:
quit itunes - hold option key down while opening itunes - keep held down until it says create or choose library - release the option key and his choose library - when the finder pulls up then choose the ituneslibrary.itl that was inside that folder you transferred and it should open that library up.
if not then i would just open itunes - file - import to library - choose that folder in the music and add it to itunes - then delete that folder you transferred so you don't have duplicates on the computer
