I can't get my iTunes on Macbook pro to transfer or sync tunes with my iphone4s. It only transfers the other way from  phone to MBpro. If I click on sync, it spins the symbol but nothing happens. It can only "share" when physically connected.

I found iTunes version 10.6.3!  Solved... for now.

  • ITunes Store Prob

Ok I bought a song and it didn't come with some FLV file with pics and lyrics.
How can I get what I bought???

itunes purchases don't come with FLV files and lyrics. I googled on FLV. Looks like it's a flash extension for videos, not music. itunes isn't like YouTube stuff.
You either bought an .m4p or m4v file.

  • Itunes update prob

i just got a new ipod 80 gb and it says update to the newest itunes but when i try to update the process of putting the new itunes on my comp, it says the old quicktime can't be erased and says call technical support. need help
    80 gb

I have exactly the same with my iPad.  All i have now is the connect to iTunes picture.  I have run the diagnostics in itunes (under help menu) and it says that neither my phone or iPad are connectted yet they physically are.  I have gone into device manager and it says there is a software connection problem.  I am trying another pc to connect my pad.   Update - connected ipad to my netbook with latest itunes version and it is carrying out the update.  that means this laptop has a software comms problem with USB.

  • ITunes "encountered prob" NEED HELP!!

I bought my iPod Nano in December of 05 and never had any problems. Ever since last month everytime I click on iTunes it says "itunes has encountered a problem and needs to close". I have read other peoples posts about this same issue and nothing has worked for me. I am using windows XP. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the cd that my ipod came with, i have even gone to the apple website and installed the newest version of iTunes, and still nothing. Another tip from someone was to create a new account and try opening iTunes from a new account, it worked for someone else, it did the same thing for me where it says it encountered a problem. Tech support on the phone cant help I do not know what else to do. PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!
      Windows XP

I think this problem started for me last night. I was able to get into my iPod menu last week, but now it just won't go away. I feel likes it forcing my to purchase the upgrade, which I really don't need nor do I want it. If there is anyone out there that can help us, it would be GREAT!!!

  • ECG filter probs..

    Hi guys....
I am actually developing a Heart rate variability measuring meter. I need to accquire ECG in real time which i am able to do but with loot of added noise. I have attached the pics of the ECG ( doest not much look like it !!!) dat i am able to accquire. Can sme 1  tell me how can i filter it out.....Notch with 50 Hz is one solution i know can u suggest me any thing better .
The Band pass filter in my ckt has a BW of 0.01 to 106 Hz jus sufficient for the ECG signal of 0.05 -120 Hz. But i suppose my circuit is practically even very high freqs(shud i go for a Low Pass Filter)...can ny 1 plz  help me out.

    Joanna,
From the waveforms it looks as though you have some power line interference. This is quite common in ECG applications and is the major reason why differential input or instrumentation amplifiers are usually used. If you cannot eliminate the interference before capturing the data, a notch filter may be a good choice.
Other possibilities: (1) Try to set the threshold for identifying the peaks above the interference. In the images you posted the signal to noise ratio appears high enough that this might work fairly well. You could test for peaks that occur too close together to be valid RR intervals. This won't be perfect but should flag the most serious errors.
    (2) Try a high pass filter with the cutoff above the power line frequency. Since you are interested in heart rate variability, you only need the locations of the QRS complexes to calculate RR intervals. If the QRS complexes are comparable in width to the power line frequency waveform, this will not work well.
    (3) Use another channel and try to capture the power line interference only. Then scale that and subtract it from the data channels. This creates a pseudo-differential signal and may help. Phase shifts can be a problem for good cancellation.

  • ITunes installation probs with anti-virus software?

After installing iTunes 5.0.1, my iTunes either will not run or it crashes. Also, my iPod now no longer works. It shows nothing but a folder and exclamation point, and iPod Updater does not recognize the iPod and therefore will not allow me to restore it to factory settings.
Are these problems related to the incompatibility of the iTunes installer with anti-virus software? If so, can anyone suggest a fix for someone using Norton 2005 Internet Security? I tried to use the following 3-step program for addressing this problem at
    Lisa Bissell, "ITunes won't work" #4, 09:12pm Sep 28, 2005 CDT
    1.     Open Norton 2005 Internet Security, click on Personal Firewall, click Configure button, click Programs tab.
    2. Uncheck the Turn on Automatic Program Control box. In the Program window find itunes and change the Automatic setting to Permit All.
    3. Close Norton and restart Windows. itunes should work correctly after that.
However, my iTunes is not found on Norton’s Program window. When I click on Add and then click on iTunes, the Norton program crashes. Suggestions?
By the way, I am on week 2 of trying to untangle all of the problems created by the iTunes 5.0.1 installation. I have already implemented the suggestions on the following four sites without success.

Any help getting my iTunes and iPod back in operation would be much appreciated.

Ok, b, I'm now on week 3 of trying to get my iTunes and iPod back and wonder if I am any closer to resolution.
I have tried all three of the sets of recommendations in the links you provided without success. Specifically:
I've once again reinstalled iTunes (I now have version 6) and deleted all of the suggested Temp files etc.
I've put my iPod into disk mode and tried to restore it. iPod updater still does not recognize my iPod. Nor does iTunes or Windows (My Computer). In contrast, Windows recognizes my son's iPod mini, but iTunes does not.
I have run the System Config utility and selected iTunes Helper as the only the startup and iPod Service as the only service. When I restarted my computer, I had no better luck with my iTunes or iPod Updater. In fact, things got worse since I could no longer connect with the internet. So I went back to the old startup method and full range of services.
I tried to go into Disk Management to change the letter of the network drive, but either Disk Mgmt wouldn't open or, when it did, I didn't see my iPod listed.
I am also still having occasional difficulties launching iTunes, and having some difficulties using a hard reset to get my iPod off of its "Do Not Disconnect" message. (To accomplish the latter, I often am forced to try 3 or 4 times holding the Select and Menu buttons for 10 plus seconds at a time.) My iPod does nothing more than rotate between Do Not Disconnect and the sad icon.
I would consider replacing my iPod, except that it is apparent that my problems are being generated by iTunes, considering that my son's iPod is also having problems when I attempt to synch it to iTunes, and it otherwise works fine.
If you could help me get out of this mess, I would be eternally grateful.

  • My apps dance open and close on their own in my IPad 2 what can be the prob? I have already restored

I got the charger flex or pin changed and now the apps dance on the screen, photos open and zoom in, then out, the other apps open and close. I have already restored the device with Itunes and prob is still there. What can be the problem? Any suggestion will be welcome. Thank you

THANKS for your prompt reply  Bluetooth is off in my laptop and IPhone.. and in fact the reset is the only thing that can make it back to normal. But for a lil while. I wonder if it is the touch, or the home botton... both things are very expensive to replace, so I wouldn't like to spend $$ and continue having the prob.....

  • Installing iTunes 7 for 2nd Gen Nano

When trying to install iTunes after buying a new Nano teh message at the end of the install process says:
"Warning! The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs & DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes."
....and the notebook then refuses to acknowledge there is a CD/DVD burner attached for use or even in 'My Computer'
The CD diagnostics utility says that the CD/DVD RW is not recognised?!
Is there any way to get it working or does the HP Easynote not support iTunes!!?!?

okay, there's a couple of different ways we can go about this.
the subtle method for sorting out what the filter conflict is is to use the techniques from the following document:
iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting CD issues caused by device filters
(the idea is to use the registry edits to determine precisely which filter entries are conflicting with the iTunes filter entries.)
the quicker and dirtier (but still effective) technique is to use the instructions (or the guided help) from the following Microsoft document to remove all filter entries from the PC:
(MS) CD-ROM access is missing and messages cite error Code 31, Code 32, Code 19, Code 39, or Code 41 after you remove Easy CD Creator in Windows XP
once you've cleared those, you need to put the iTunes filter entries back. otherwise, whenever you launch itunes, you'll probably get the following message flashed at you:
"Warning! The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs & DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes."
to get those entries back for itunes, do a reboot and repair.
Reboot the PC (very important) and then do a repair install of itunes. in your Add/Remove programs, select iTunes, click "Change" and then click "Repair".
... as to collateral damage. last time i checked, the UK Packard Bells were shipping with a version of RecordNow 7.x preinstalled. so you might want to check to see if that is still operational after the filter edit.

  • IPhone4 iTunes sync Contacts w/ Outlook: field mapping?

Good question. Someone screwed up. I thought it was Outlook, but I think this is an itunes/Apple prob.

  • ITunes no longer recognize iPod or iPad, won't burn cds.

I've recently updated iTunes and it no longer recognises either my iPod or iPad mini. It also generates the "Registry settings used for importing and burning cds are missing etc" message on opening the program.
    So far I've tried:
    - Re-installing iTunes several times
    - Stopping and restarting the Apple mobile device service
    - Following the steps in the "iTunes for Windows: "Registry settings" warning when opening iTunes" troubleshooting guide, going into the registry key and adding in the GEARAspiWDM iTunes filter device.
    - And reinstalling iTunes a couple more times
This doesn't seem to have had any effect - what's the next step I should take? I'm using Windows 8.

eta - I've also been following the steps from here but I've been unable to empty the Temp directory, even with no apps runnings, and attemping to verify the Apple Mobile Device USB driver is installed failed - the driver specified in the fix came up with an error that it wasn't compatible with my version of Windows, and there is no drivers folder in
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\.

  • ITunes library trouble - after adding new external HD

Hi. I was running out of room on an external drive, where I keep all my of my mp3s (my "media folder"). I purchased a new, larger external HD, plugged it in alongside the existing drive, and dragged and dropped everything in the empty new drive. So far, so good.
Now here's where I think I got a little too cute. Since the old ext HD was assigned the letter J:, I figured I could reassign the new drive as J:, and all would be jake --- all existing paths would point in the same direction, and iTunes wouldn't even notice the diff! (Or so I thought.) It actually went like this: reassign existing J: to letter O:; reassign new external (which was born L:) to J:.
When I reopened iTunes after the reassignment surgery, it was a tragic mess: all playlists gone, and the library had resorted to some way earlier version, with the dreaded exclamation points indicating that iTunes couldn't "locate" the music/media files.
I then proceeded to freak out, rapidly and rabidly re-selecting different iTunes library (.itl) files --- previous versions, latest versions --- but nothing was working. I fear all of this activity basically rendered the most recent library file all-but-irretrievable.
I've searched for all library files; I've restarted and rebooted. I'm not concerned about the mp3s themselves; I know where they all are, and can simply drop them all back into iTunes, no prob. What I'm still hoping to do is find that elusive, most recent library file and bring all of my precious, precious organization back.
Any ideas? I fear this is a classic example of (very) limited knowledge being a dangerous thing.
I'm running Windows 7; iTunes 11.1.0.126. MP3 files on an external, but iTunes folder on the C:/User drive, as by default (I think; not 100% sure).
    Many thanks!!

Microsoft's SyncToy utility is ideal for this.  You can set up a "folder pair" consisting of the root iTunes folder on your master disc and the corresponding folder in your backup disc (you have options to sync all changes on both sides or to just echo changes to the master, including deletes, on the backup). Once you've done the initial copy you can run this folder pair in SyncToy to achieve what you want.
Are you using your existing external drive just for media storage or have you set it up as a fully portable library (i.e., your iTunes Library.itl file, Album Artwork folders, etc. are on the same drive as the media)?  If not, take a look at tt2's tutorial on make a split library portable - this will allow you to have everything used by iTunes on the external drive (better for portability as well as being more robust against PC problems).

  • I can't burn CD's - how do you do it?

I'm trying to burn documents/pictures etc onto cd's. (I can burn music from itunes no prob) I've been told all I have to do it insert the blank cd and drag and drop. Seems like i've run into a big problem! Firstly, the blank disk's icon doesn't even show up on the desktop. I insert the cd and disk copy automatically opens. A window pops up that says "drag a disk image here to mount it or drag a folder/volume here to create a disk image from it". Another box pops up at the same time that is titled burn image. However, if I click on a folder with all my pictures in it , it is all greyed out and the BURN IMAGE button is greyed out. Also most of the pull down menu options are also greyed out including disk copy help!
I just found some instructions I must have printed out a while ago and it says when i insert the blank cd a box should pop up that says " the disc needs to be prepared for burning do you want to prepare this disk?" well, that message never pops up - and like i said the icon never even shows up on the desktop either. Now I'm really confused...any advice? Do I NOT have a CD-RW drive or something? What am I doing wrong?!

You have somehow configured your Mac to automatically open Disk Utility when you insert a blank CD. To change that: Open System Preferences and the CD & DVDs preference pane. Then change the action that occurs when you insert a blank CD.

  • Problems with giftcard? (Billing to CC)

Okay, so I received a gift card a few weeks ago and redeemed it through iTunes (no prob there), but whenever I try to buy anything iTunes bills it to my CC?? It did that for the last song that I purchased, and, while I really don't mind, that was the last of the $ on my CC. So now it prompts me to add my credit info again every time I try to buy something, which I'd rather not do, but even when I did give up and try it, it tried to bill it again then said that it was declined (no money there, haha). I can't remove the CC from my apple ID by selecting “none” on the payment info pg, since I don't have a new account- is there another way to do this?? Preferably one that doesn't require me setting up a whole new apple ID (this is kind've an old iPod so I don't want to deal w/ the back and forth for like a million apps/songs/etc.) I just want to use the stupid gift card -_- thanks so much for the help!!!!

    Hi Søren,
Does turning sync off and back on again make any difference? Can you post a screen shot of the error?
Could you also upload the most recently copy of this log file to Creative Cloud, set the file as public, available for download, and post the link here?
    Mac:
