ITunes flaking out. Had to trash it. Help!
Lifetime PC user, bought an iMac a couple weeks ago and I'm having problems that are getting progressively worse. The latest is a problem with iTunes. iTunes worked just great until a couple days ago. I'd logged into iTunes store and bought music, listened to music, everything was great.
I tuned into an iTunes internet radio station and after a few minutes turned off my computer with iTunes open and the internet radio station playing. When I turned it back on, iTunes was gone. I tried to start it but couldn't get it to open. I tried to do a "Force Quit" but that didn't work either. Started the Activity Monitor. iTunes was "program not responding" in red. Tried to do a force quit from there. No response. Did a "quit" on the iTunes Helper and both iTunes and the iTunes helper quit.
Did this several times. Decided to trash iTunes and download a fresh copy. iTunes 7.1.1 downloaded just fine, installed just fine but no iTunes logo anywhere. Repeated this several times, no luck.
I'm out of ideas, can you help me out?

Windows XPWhen you say "download", do you mean that you cannot get the iTunes installer copied from the Apple web site successfully? Or do you mean that you have the installer on your computer but that after running it, it gets part-way through but then fails?

So, I have had an Ipod touch (fourth generation) for a little less than a year now, and I have never had any problems with it until the latest version of itunes came out. Now, my ipod never can sync (I left it up for an hour before and it only got to step 2 out of 7), and I can't add any more music to my ipod! To make it worse, about 100 songs that I had deleted off my ipod, but could still be found in my itunes library, appeared again on my ipod! But, they are grayed out and I can't listen to them so they just take up space.

- Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

I have a ipod classic 160GB and it's not showing any music anymore, but there is still showing 7GB of memory being used, and I don't have it backed up on my itunes, since I had to put a new hard drive on my computer. Any suggestion to find out whats on that memory or to get it the music back, there is approximately over 1400 songs on it?
What is the memory being used by, is it Other? If it is, that means the iPod can no longer read the music, so it has put it all in "Other".
The usual fix for this is to allow the iPod to Sync with its iTunes Library. If that doesn't work, the next option is to Restore the iPod using the Restore command in iTunes, on the Device/Summary pane.
Unless you are very (very) lucky, I suspect that you are going to have to Restore your iPod. Restoring will remove everything form the iPod and put back onto it only what it finds in your iTunes Library, which you say is currently empty.
If you have to rebuild your Library after this issue, by adding all the music back again, this is going to be hard to hear, but for the future, you may want to consider always having a backup of your library. The easiset way to back the Library up is;
if the Library is small enough, burn it to a DVD, as digital files, not a "music CD".
If your Library is too large for a DVD, buy yourself an external hard drive and copy the Library onto the drive. Remember to update the backup every so often. -
I somehow installed a version of Firefox which won't work on my "old" iMac G5 (10.5.8) so I trashed the program and now I can't get it out of my trash bin... Any help appreciated because now I can't empty my trash at all! Thanks!!

While YOU may not have attempted to jailbreak the phone, SOMEONE ELSE did. Error 1015 occurs by attempting to restore a previously jailbroken phone.
It's very likely you may NEVER get your phone out of recovery mode and your phone may be rendered permanently bricked.

first, head into your Add/Remove programs and uninstall your QuickTime. if it goes, good. if it doesn't, we'll just attend to it when we attend to itunes.
next, download and install the revo uninstaller http://http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html. use it to clear any existing itunes and/or QuickTime installation configuration information from the PC.
next download itunes. it worked for me hope this is helpful!!
oonce you get into the revo uninstallergo thru to delete itunes hit uninstall on the itunes icon then you will go thru to it will tell u the same nmessage about the feature and network hit cancell then go thru and hit scan (make sure bthe advance scan button is pushed) this will take awhile but go thru the list and hit everything associated with itunes. hit delete then install itunes again. it worked for me hope it works for you! -

when i took my iphoto out of the trash it wouldnt open the same it goes to a blank page and has that waiting circle but it never loads and i cant put pics in it... i even tried re installing it and it did the same thing! help me i really miss my pictures

Then you'll have to reinstall iPhoto. To do so you'll have to delete the current application and all files with "iPhoto" in the file name with either a .PKG or .BOM extension that reside in the HD/Library/Receipts folder and from the /var/db/receipts/ folder,

I deleted (to Trash) a segment of "raw footage" from an iMovie project that I did not want to delete.
I was able to retreive it from the Trash and move it to Finder, but I cannot figure out how to move it back to iMovie.
How do I do this (restore the video segment to the start of the project)?

So, unless I'm mistaken that would be the "long way" to resolving this issue.
I was able the take the deleted video out of the Trash and now it's in Finder. Why can't I simply re-insert it into iMovie where it orginally was? That would be the simple solution, just "click and drag", or something like that, correct? Maybe that's impossible? (In which case, I must ask, "Wouldn't the creators of iMovie have considered this "boo-boo" and done something to remedy it easily?" I doubt I'm the first vidiot to do this...
