ITunes for Mac Error -50 when syncing iPod photo

OS X 10.5.4 iTunes 7.7 Getting error -50 when syncing photos to my 60G iPod Photo, music is synced but not alll checked photos. I have AppleTV and 2 iPhones that are synced with this computer and all 3 of those are synced properly. But this iPod is giving me fits. I have restored the iPod and re-synced to no avail. Are there any plists that are hidden that I can trash. I have read about keywords on photos causing it, but I have 19,0000 tagged photos and I can't look at each one for a corrupt keyword. I have turned on albums one at a time with no help. Seems like a sync is a sync iPhone, iPod, AppleTV. Why different results? I am trying to get the same photos as on iPhones (16G), and the Apple TV has all of my songs and Photos, so the keyword thing may be bogus info.

Hi! I am having the same problem...how did you fix it?
Thanks!

  • ITunes displays -48 error message when syncing iPod Nano on Windows XP

My girlfriend's mom's iPod Nano ran out of charge while jogging so she decided to charge it on her daughter's iHome. The next day she went to use her iPod but it was totally empty of all music and files. When she tried to sync it to iTunes, she received an eror message stating, "An unknown error has occurred (-48)" from iTunes and a Windows message stating that some iPod folder/file was corrupted.
If anyone receives such a message, I was able to correct it by:
-Plugging in your iPod to your PC
    -Ignore the error messages
    -Go to My Computer
-Find your iPod's drive letter (ie. G:)
-Right-click on it and select Properties
-Go to Tools Tab >Error-checking and select Check Now
You should be able to sync your iPod as before. I do not claim to be an expert so be warned that it may not work for you. Good luck!

  • ITunes for Windows: Error -9812 when accessing the iTunes Store

So here is the situation. When I try to access our iTunes U site from the public link it works great, when I go thru the link that has me authenticicate it works on macs but on PC's I get the error message "iTunes for Windows: Error -9812 when accessing the iTunes Store" it's happening all thru our campus with PC users. Any ideas?????

We're having similar connection issues, and the error log on our web server says something about a certificate error. I noted that last year on this date there were messages related to certificates. Is it possible they are updated every Dec 2, and we should count on some down time?

It sounds like you might be experiencing the same problem I have been having:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/19207453#19207453
Can you pinpoint the time when you started having this problem?  I am wondering if Amazon has made some kind of change to their downloads that is causing a problem for the syncing process.

  • Unknown Error -208 when syncing ipod

Hey Folks having some massive problems with my new ipod. A couple days ago the ipod froze when i was on the bus, after that every time i hooked my ipod into my mac i got the error -208 can not sync ipod. The thing is the ipod was updating.
While trying to Trouble shot this i did the restore ipod with itunes 7.0.2, and guess what i am still getting the error. Even more annoying since i restored i can no longer sync my contacts and calendar. when i check the sync contacts box it tells me i have no contacts.
I have looked through the different solutions in the forums and none of them have worked for me.
    Any Help much appreciated.

Thanks Kylene that solved the error message and the photo's not updating. For some Reason it even solved the calender's syncing problem.
I am still having the problem of itunes not liking my contacts though. Every time i try to check the sync contacts i keep getting that my address book has no contacts.
I have deleted the application support files, as some one suggestd in another thread, and that didn't work.
But at least 2/3 of the problems are solved.

  • HUGE Error Message When Syncing IPod!!!

alright well first of all i have the new nano 4G ipod. Recently i added a TON of new songs, and apparantly i went over the size limit that my ipod could hold. In other words I had more songs on my itunes library than could fit into my ipod. I found this out when I tried to sync my ipod after adding all of these new songs. This is the error message I got: "ipod cannot be synced because all of the playlists selected for syncing no longer exist"
Now it gave me a temporary playlist before but i accidentally deleted so now I get this message. I really really really need help is there anything at all i can do I'm seriously going to die if this doesn't work soon =[

You get this problem when the option 'Sync Music - Selected playlists' is being used to sync your iPod and then the playlist it has been updating from is deleted. Most people use this setting when the iPod is smaller than the iTunes library. If your library is larger than the capacity of your iPod, iTunes by default makes a new playlist called something along the lines of "Owner's iPod". If you for any reason delete it, you will not be able to sync your iPod.
Open iTunes and create a playlist to update your iPod from, call it -iPod to make it the first playlist in Sources. You can make this a normal playlist and drag whatever you want to it or you can make it a random Smart playlist. If you are making a smart playlist limit it to just less than the size of your iPod (for example 3700MB for a 4G iPod Nano). Now connect your iPod and when it appears in the Source list click on the iPod icon to bring up the preference tabs in the main pane. Go to the Music tab and choose Sync Music and the Selected playlists radio button. Choose the playlist you just made from the selection and click Apply. You can also sync from any existing playlists by choosing the same setting, you just need to make sure that the size of the playlists don't exceed the capacity of your iPod:
iTunes: Creating playlists of your favorite songs
How to create a Smart Playlist with iTunes
To make a random playlist go to File>New Smart Playlist.
    Uncheck "Match the following rule"
Check "Limit to" put "3700" in the number box, choose "MB" from the first list box, choose "Random" from the next list box. Check "Live Updating"
When you want to change the selection in the playlist just delete everything in it and it will add a new selection

  • Error Message When Syncing Ipod "There is no disk in the drive ... "

When doing a search on the internet for this error message, i see a few other previous posts on forums.ilounge.com with others having this issue with Itunes, but all I can find is someone talking about deleting the Itunes preferences files on my computer, and I did that, but that didn't help. I was wondering if anyone had any bright ideas.
I get this annoying message EVERYTIME I sync my Ipod:
"There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive G:".
(Drive G on my computer is my Ipod when i have it plugged in). It doesn't seem to interfere with anything; all I have to do is click continue and the message goes away. But as I said, it's annoying, and I want it gone. I want to avoid reinstalling Itunes if I can due to the hassle of having to do so, plus previous posters on forums.ilounge.com said they did so an it didn't help. If someone can direct me to a previous string where this has already been discussed please post me the link. thanks!

    Hi there
I am also getting this error message. One day my iPod was syncing fine, the next I was getting this error message. I have tried every conceivable drive letter, and still I get the message. i have also tried every drive on my computer, still the same message.
I have restarted and restored the iPod several times, no change to error message.
I shelled out £16.99 on a new sync cable, thinking that might help - but no, i still get the same error message.
In addition, my iPod screen displays the DO NOT DISCONNECT sign.
I seem to be able to perform a sync, but at the end, when iTunes says sync complete, the error message appears on my screen (incidentaly the header bar of the error message says: CorelLOMonitor.exe - No Disk) and the iPod screen continues to flash "Do Not Disconnect". This continues indefinatly and I have only been able to stop it by unplugging the iPod form the Sync cable.
I really would welcome some assistance with this problem.
    Many thanks

  • Error message when syncing iPod

I have a 2nd Generation iTouch and just recently when I go to plug my iTouch into sync, an error message comes up. It says "This iPod cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install iTunes again." I have already removed and re-installed iTunes and am still recieving the same message. It was working fine at first but just not started to not be able to sync iPod to computer. What do I need to do?

Same thing occurred to me today. Just restore your iPod. That seemed to work for me. There were suggestions to uncheck the option to display artwork, remove iPod, then to check it again and sync the iPod, but that didn't solve the problem for me.

  • Error Message when syncing Ipod Touch

Just had my computer rebuilt, I have installed Itunes 10 but I keep getting an error message when trying to sync my ipod which is "You don't have enough access priveleges for this operation". Any ideas on how I can overcome this? Thanks in advance

You need to check your logon's access privileges in Vista. You may have to delete your current profile and recreate a new Admin profile to correct.

  • Unknown Error (-48) when syncing ipod nano in Itunes

I got a new ipod nano chromatic and have had it about 5 months. Then today i plug it in and the battery was pretty low -it kept saying that it cant sync and that it has experienced an unknown error (-48).
*** is this and how can I fix it. I have charged the ipod up, so surely it isnt the battery.
    Help!

Have you tried restoring your iPod? Restoring will erase the iPod's hard drive, reload the software and put it back to default settings. Once the restore is complete follow the on screen instructions to name the iPod and automatically sync your songs and videos onto the fresh installation. Press Done and the iPod will appear in iTunes and start to sync. If you want to update manually or using selected playlists uncheck the box beside the sync automatically instruction and press Done, it will default to manual mode and you can choose whatever setting you like: Restoring iPod to factory settings with iTunes
