I just installed itunes on a Windows 7 PC. When I click on the Itunes icon the following message appears -
The Itunes Library.itl file cannot be found or created. The default location for this file is in the "Itunes" folder in the "Music" folder.
I have checked and there is a file named Library.itl in the "Music" folder. I'm not sure where to go from here so any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • TS1424 iTunes for Windows: 42032 error displays when accessing the iTunes Store.

Has anyone a solution for the following itunes error when I try to open the I-tunes store: unknown error 42032.

    Doublechecking. Is that a 42023 rather than a 42032?
If so, perhaps try the "Error -50," "-5000," "8003," "8008," or "-42023" section in the Specific Conditions and Alert Messages: (Mac OS X / Windows) section of the following document:

  • Eror when trying to open ITunes after installing

I get this error when I try and open iTunes immediately after installing it on my new Windows Vista pc. Please help.
"The folder itunes can not be found or created and is required. the default location for this folder is in side the My music folder."
    HP   Other OS   Vista

"The folder itunes can not be found or created and is required. the default location for this folder is in side the My music folder."
the interesting complication here is that you're getting this in Vista, rather than XP. since it's typically associated with a Registry problem on the PC, i'd proceed with extreme caution if you tried to adapt the standard techniques. (i'm honestly not sure if TweakUI is even compatible with Vista.)
anyhoo, all these caveats being mentioned, the standard place to start with one of these in XP is with the following document:
iTunes for Windows: "Disk is locked" or "iTunes folder cannot be found" when installing or opening iTunes
... and, in XP, the standard thing to try if you run into the complication where My Music doesn't appear as an option in TweakUI is the alternate procedure from this Nigel Carpenter post:
    Nigel Carpenter: re: Itunes problem
whether or not these work in Vista will depend on how the registry is structured there. if any expert on cross-OS Registry comparison could weigh in at this point, i'd be most obliged.

  • Why do I get an error message when trying to open Itunes??????

I have installed I tunes on to my computer about ten separate times now and every time I try to open it I get a message that says.
" The folder "iTunes" could not be found or created, and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the "My Music" folder."
    Can anyone help me out????

" The folder "iTunes" could not be found or created, and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the "My Music" folder."
the best place to start with that one is with the following document:
iTunes for Windows: "Disk is locked" or "iTunes folder cannot be found" when installing or opening iTunes
but if you run into the complication where My Music doesn't appear as an option in TweakUI, perhaps try the alternate procedure from the following Nigel Carpenter post:

    Please help !

    Hello Paul,
Sorry to hear that iTunes is not installing on your computer.  I found a couple of articles I think may help with the error messages you are seeing.
I recommend starting with these steps:
Remove and reinstall iTunes and AMDS
If the issue continues after restarting AMDS, then you'll need to remove and reinstall AMDS and iTunes.
Completely uninstall AMDS, iTunes, and all Apple software. Click the appropriate links below for steps:
    Windows XP
    Windows Vista or Windows 7
    Restart the computer.
Download and install (or reinstall) the latest version of iTunes from www.apple.com/itunes. Installing iTunes will also install AMDS.
    Restart the computer.
Start iTunes and connect the device. It should be recognized properly in Windows.
You can find the full article here:
How to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service (AMDS) on Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1567
If you are still getting "Error 7" when trying to do this, I recommend following the steps in this article:
