ITunes for Windows does not delete podcasts when told to.

I have 30 podcasts. When I try to delete a selected podcast using either the delete key or right-click menu, I then tell iTunes to "move to recycle bin". However, many times the file remains. I just found >1GB of left over podcasts that did not show up in iTunes but are in the "My Music\iTunes\podcast.." directories.
is this a known bug or am I missing something?

Itunes 11.3 for windows will not delete podcasts.

Using itunes 11.3.8.54 will not honor the delete menu item for deleting podcasts. Podcasts are also not being deleted when the number exceeds the maximum retention.

TS3297 ITunes for IOS does not display any content in the iTunes store

iTunes for IOS does not display any content in any section (other than Genius tab).
NB: I am signed in with my Apple ID & have an Internet connection.
On selecting say the "Music" tab the display briefly say's "Loading ...", but nothing displays, just a white screen.
I have tried signing out of iTunes & re-setting the iPad, but this does not fix the problem.
(The App Store is working fine!)

Unable to Burn CDs in iTunes for Windows: (Will not fit, but it should.)

I am attempting to fix an issue with a friend's iTunes for Windows. Although previously this computer using this media was able to burn audio CDs through iTunes, recently, an error has appeared before any burn. When loading the proper amount of time to fit on a CD, iTunes claims:
"The songs in this playlist will not fit on one Audio CD"
"Do you want to create multiple Audio CDs with this playlist split across them?"
"This will require more than one CD to complete."

Additionally, I copied the iTunes playlist to a new drive that was recently installed with Windows, and the same problem occurs when rebooting under that system.
Also, please note that this issue occured prior to updating to iTunes 7.

Messages window does not pop up when a chat is received

Help!
In the Messages app, when a chat is received, the Messages window does not pop up! (Like it did with the old ichat.) When a chat is received, it makes the noise, the icon bounces in the dock, and a red bubble is on the icon with the number of new chats.... but the messages window does not come forward. This is the most frustrating thing ever! I've been missing so many chats because I'm not staring at my dock. How do I make the messages window pop up when a chat is received?? Please help!!
(I just upgraded from Lion to Mountain Lion...lost ichat, gained the Messages app, and this issue is driving me nuts!)

I am not sure you can.
By Default iChat could "Hide" any window such as a Buddy list.
A new Invite put up a Invite window first that you had to Accept (Or set Auto Accept).
This triggered the appearance of the Chat window.
This does not happen in Messages.
There is not Invite window now to any Form of Text chat invite.
As a consequence there is no Trigger for the Chat window.
Add to that the Messages main Window is an interface window as well as the Chat window.
This puts it in the same category as Buddy List which has to be called back (unhidden) into view with either Keystrokes or the Window Menu.
A click (or possibly two to first bring Messages to the Front) on the DOCK icon also tends to reveal the Messages window.
You can set the Messages > Preferences > Alerts for New Messages and Text Chat invitation to Bounce the DOCK and Play sounds to help.

Quick answer on moving library if you use iTunes' default preferences settings: Copy the entire iTunes folder (and in doing so all its subfolders and files) intact to the other drive. Open iTunes and immediately hold down the option (alt) key (shift on Windows) so you get a prompt to select a library, then guide it to the 'iTunes Library.itl' file in the moved iTunes folder.

Reinstalled Itunes for Windows will not recognize ipod touch 3rd generation.

Itunes for Windows and PC will not recognize my ipod touch 3rd generation. Also it will not fully charge using a brand new apple brand power adapter and cable. I have already uninstalled all Apple software on PC and reinstalled. I've tried every step suggested by Apple online iPod touch Troubleshooting Assistant.

the best thing i think you could do is go to an apple store or uninstall itunes and reinstall it one more time and see what happens

ITunes for Windows will not play the next song in the list

Hello,
I cannot get iTunes to play the next song in my list (general list, not a playlist). The random icon and/or repeat icon is not blue. Every time I press the next button (two arrows to the right), it picks another song from my list, instead of the one that is directly beneath the one that is playing.
I have iTunes version 11.0.1.12.
Has anyone have this happen before and how did you solve it? Thank you for all your replies.

ITunes for Windows will not open, says im not authorized.

Every time I try to open iTunes it keeps giving me the error message, the folder itunes is on a locked disc or you do not have write permissions for this folder. everything worked fine until I was playing around with sharing for my network and I think I messed it up. Someone please help me. I have uninstalled itunes two times and reinstalled it with no luck. Please help me.

Itunes for windows will not play videos

Videos will not play back insde iTunes for windows on a windows 7 machine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes. The video starts to play audio and a still image on screen and after a bout 3 seconds the audio stops.

Try updating your iTunes using an iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer file downloaded from the Apple website:

Bug: iTunes not actually deleting podcasts when told to delete podcasts

When I delete podcasts and select the "move to recycle bin" option the podcast is removed from iTunes. However very often the podcasts still remains in the my music folders and is not actually deleted from the folders, and this happens most often with video podcast.

Same thing here. It happened under XP and also now under Vista. I wish someone could help out with this issue..

The latest itunes for windows will not install

I have an old PC running windows and I want to transfer my itunes songs to my ipad. I can't do this until I update iTunes but trying to update does nothing, either from iTunes or from the web page. I've tried rebooting the PC, still doesn't work. How do I get iTunes to update? Or, how do I transfer to the iPad without updating? The version of iTunes I have is older than 10.5, not sure where to find version #. Thanks!

Hi b noir, thanks for offering to help. i documented the whole process:
Itunes transfer from pc to ipad.
1. Connect ipad to PC
2. Pc recognizes ipad as a camera, gives me list of programs to launch, not sure if this has any relevance, no itunes on list, instead its kodak easyshare, ms doc wizard, ms camera sharing, ms word,mp navagator ex, omnipage, photoshop - I ignore this screen
3. Launch itunes, get screen, "ipad requires v 10.5 or later' go to itunes.com. I click ok
4. I get screen, still in itunes, "a new version (10.7) is available." I click download.
5. That screen goes away but nothing happens. No download starts.
6. Checked itunes folder on my hard drive, no sign that anything new has downloaded
7. Launch safari, go to itunes.com, hit download button
8. Nothing seems to be happening.
9. I get "thank you for downloading itunes" screen.
10. Still nothing new in itunes folder.
11. Get AVG screen telling me to restart my pc to finish download process.
12. During shutdown, I get screen,"the instruction at 0x100066dd referenced memory at 0x100066dd. The instruction could not be read." Gave me options to terminate program or debug. I did not choose either. No idea if this is relevant.
13. PC rebooted anyway.
14. Launched itunes
15. Got same message as before - "ipad requires v 10.5 or later' go to itunes.com. I click ok
16. Even though ipad is plugged in all this time, the screen that thinks the ipad is a camera does not come up this time.

22. Since help doesn't work, I move on in test. Two more fail screens: itunes helper not running, no ipad found. help brings up appropriate pages for both. Both recommend removing and reinstalling itunes.
23. Device sync also fails.
If it would be quickest to delete and reinstall itunes, I am willing to do that. My music would not be deleted correct? What about playlists (not as important to me).
I also have all my music backed up to CD. It would be tedious to copy that all to ipad, but if there is a way to do it and no other option, I could do that.

I FIXED IT!! I can't believe it . I actually figured out how to make it work(well sort of). My Apple Software Updater now works (almost) perfectly and I just successfully downloaded and installed itunes 10.6.3.25 through it!!!
Ok , the way I see it, either the latest itunes update or the recent Windows Patch Tuesday on June 12th, 2012 must have inadvertently removed the Administrative Rights from the Apple Software Update Tool .lnk file.
So you must go to where the file resides on your hard drive - for me that was C:\Program Data\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs - Right click on the Apple software Tool icon and choose properties. Click on the compatibility tab. At the bottom of this tab click on "change settings for all users" and hit Yes at the UAC pop-up. Now make sure you place a check in the "Run this program as Administrator" under the Privilege level section at the bottom. Hit Apply and then OK. The hit Ok again to get off the properties pop-up.
When I went back and clicked on the Apple Software Update shortcut, I got a UAC pop-up asking me if I wanted to proceed(something I had always, in the past, gotten but haven't since this problem started). The Apple Software Update tool came up and to my suprise the progress bar STAYED and started to slowly fill up partially with the green progress bar. Viola, the itunes 10.6.3 update showed up on the top part of the screen as a new update needing to be installed - the bottom screen, as usual, had the changelog info for the 10.6.3 update. I clicked on install and , again, Viola. the update downloaded and installed flawlessly. I had to reboot my computer and when it restarted, itunes was working perfectly and it was correctly showing as itunes v10.6.3.25.
I say it is almost or sort of fixed because when you click on the Apple Software Update shortcut after the 10.6.3 install it goes back to doing the same thing it did before(i.e. processing for a second and then saying there are new updates but showing a blank field). Maybe this is the way the software now looks if there are no updates available to install - maybe Apple is working on this to eventually get it back to normal. All I know is the process I outlined above worked for me(at least to get the ASU to recognize and properly download and install itunes 10.6.3). It's certainly not perfect, but it worked. Please try this method and let me know what results you have with it. Good luck.
