ITunes for windows freezes while synchronizing nano 6g

Hello there. I have been a proud user of the 8GB 6g iPod nano for five months and never ever had eny problems with it until today.
I was about to add some more music and the sync process froze on "beginning synchronization". The spinning icon on ipod's screen appeared with "connected, eject before disconnecting" announcement, but nothing happened. iTunes stoped reacting to any clicking, dragging, anything, could be only shut down via task manager. Shut down or not, the ipod shows the same all the time, even after all system restarting, itunes reinstallation and stuff. The trouble doesn't appear when I just click "synchronize" without making any changes, but when I mark even one small track to add or remove from ipod, it freezes as posted above. I can still listen to the music and use al other features of both ipod and itunes, though.

Have you tried working through TS1717: iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues?
I would imaging the difficulty with transferring purchases while offline is that iTunes can't phone home to check the authorization of the computer.

Latest version of iTunes for Windows freezes...

I'm using Windows 7, Lenovo laptop, iTunes has run with perfect stability forever. My default library view is podcasts. Since I installed the latest update to iTunes for Windows, my iTunes freezes in podcast mode (Automatic update), but if I open it in Music mode, it plays my music fine.
I followed the support point to open iTunes in safe mode (makes no difference) and deleted my iTunes preferences. This allowed me to select the library view rather than sticking in podcasts only and freezing. But still freezes as soon as I return to podcast view.
As I say everything was fine until the update.

ITunes for Windows freezes when importing a library. I have a large but not huge library of mostly iTunes purchased music on two authorized computers and would like to sync the files, export the library as a playlist, and import it on the other computer.

I am running iTunes for Windows 10.2.2 on Windows 7 Home. I have my iTunes library on both this computer and another authorized machine running Windows 7 Professional. I have a large but not enormous library, as I'm one of those people who doesn't pirate, use torrents, borrow from a dozen friends, or whatever other shades of gray you might imagine. It's mostly iTunes purchases with my old CD collection imported. I have started using the following technique to sync my libraries between my two authorized computers, an ability which you can probably all agree should one day be added to iTunes -- that would be different from Home Sharing, because the music would be stored locally and thus available on the road. With the added benefit of the entire library being backed up on the other machine in real-time. Anyway, when I switch from my desktop to laptop and vice versa, I use the following technique:
Connect both machines to the home network. One machine is the "Active" machine, which has most recently been used for iTunes media, purchases, ratings, etc.
On the "Active" machine, File-->Library-->Export. Save the file as "Library.xml" on the shared drive of the other machine.
Right-click "Library.xml" where it's been saved, and open another file that has two lines in it: The root path of the iTunes library on one machine and the root path of the iTunes library on the other machine.
Do a find/replace all in Notepad to make the library XML file point to where the files will be saved on the "Inactive" machine.
Run Microsoft SyncToy to synchronize the files between both music libraries; the most recent files win. This avoids copying the entire multi-gigabyte library over the network.
Open iTunes on the "Inactive" machine.
Go to Music, Select All, Delete. Keep files.
Do the same for Movies, Music Videos.
Go down to Playlists, select the top one, hold down the delete button until they're all gone.
File-->Library-->Import Playlist. Choose the "Library.xml" file you saved.
First a status bar comes up that says, "Importing library." It has the continually-scrolling progress bar, not the one that starts on the left and steadily creeps right. Then after about 30 seconds, that clears out. Wait. Typically a few minutes. Eventually a status bar will pop up saying something like, "Evaluating gapless playback information," or something like that.
The "Inactive" computer is now the "Active" computer. I can now play my library, it has all my playlists and metadata from the other machine.
Delete all the duplicate playlists named "Music," "Genius," "Purchased," and "iTunes DJ."
Well, I just upgraded to iTunes 10.2.2 a few days ago and tried to do this again like I've done it dozens of times before. Now, iTunes just goes unresponsive after the library import. It got through the "Importing library" bar to the long wait and stopped. I can still multiprocess and use other programs, but iTunes is hovering back there not responding to clicks. Task Manager doesn't seem to think iTunes is using my CPU, and I don't see my hard drive rattling. Any thoughts on why iTunes might hang up when importing a large library?
... Also, please help lobby Apple to come up with a network sync tool built into iTunes for a user with multiple authorized computers. Something different than Home Sharing so I can pull my laptop off the network and still have the synced library with me. And all my metadata changes will sync. The technique I use seems a little kludgey, don't you think?

iTunes isn't an editor. You need an app that's intended for editing audio files, like Adobe Audition (http://www.adobe.com/products/audition.html) or Audacity (free in the App Store).

the update might be choking on a song file (or files).

Itunes for Windows 11.0.3 freezes

My iTunes was working fine. I just updated to 11.0.3 and it keeps freezing in the middle of playing songs so I have to use task manager to restart. I want to go back to older version. Anyone know where I can download older version of iTunes or know what's going on?

ITunes for Windows 11.0.4: "iTunes has stopped working" error messages when playing videos, video podcasts, movies and TV shows

Title says it all.
I've had this issue on this machine for some time but not forever. Music playback is fine but anything video related freezes the program. When I launch the program in safe mode it works though. Clearly some add-on or file is causing it to foul up.

Some customers using computers containing NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA (SATA) controllers may experience unexpected behavior when playing videos in iTunes on Windows from a SATA hard drive. iTunes may unexpectedly quit or become unresponsive or the computer may unexpectedly reboot or show a blue screen. Standard IDE hard disks are unaffected by this issue. If your computer contains a standard IDE hard disk, you can copy your video files to that disk and play those copies of the files in iTunes or QuickTime Player.

Sorry, but you cannot use iTunes under Windows ME. For just synchronizing tracks with your iPod, you could get a third-party utility such as Anapod, Ephpod, or Xplay for handling the transfer. I haven't used any of these, so I can't make any recommendations. These applications cannot connect to the iTunes Music Store, so unless you upgrade, you won't be fully supported and will not be able to purchase tracks from the iTMS.
I strongly suggest you consider upgrading your version of Windows, though. Windows ME is no longer supported by Microsoft and it's going to get harder and harder to find applications that will work under 95/98/ME.

My library is on a NAS and managed by iTunes on a Mac. I can connect from wife's Windows laptop using iTunes for Windows but every time I do, it Updates iTunes Library. Next time I log in from my Mac it Updates iTunes Library in return. It appears I'm experiencing "Update Wars" between the Mac and Windows versions of iTunes. I would like to allow my wife to stream iTunes songs to her new laptop but I don't want any updates from this source... prefer to manage the library from my Mac and not allow Windows to do any thing other than listen to existing playlists.

Connect the PC to the library on the NAS. Wait while "updated".
Under Edit > Preferences > Advanced make sure the media folder is correctly pointed at the media folder on the NAS. If not correct, close iTunes, wait a few moments, then open iTunes again.
Close iTunes on the PC. Do not open iTunes on the Mac.
Copy the library files, iTunes Library.itl, iTunes Library Extras.itdb, iTunes Library Genius.itdb, sentinel and the folder Album Artwork into an empty iTunes folder on the PC, for example C:\iTunes.
Click the icon to start iTunes and immediately press and hold down SHIFT. Keep holding until prompted to choose or create a library. Click choose and browse to the copied .itl file, e.g. C:\iTunes\iTunes Library.itl
The library should now work properly on the PC, however check the setting for the media folder. If needs be correct, close iTunes and reopen.
Open iTunes on the Mac. It will update again, but that should be last time.

IOS5 Update causes Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows

I did an iPad1 IOS5 update and on the reboot could not get iTunes to recognize my iPad.
I did all the recommended troubleshooting to no avail. So I called this morning and while on hold I put my password back on my device just as before and BAM iTunes now recognizes device and is doing my restore.
So if you do a backup of your device before the update and you have it password protected, it won't recognize the device until you go through and setup a new device and put your password back to what is was before, then BAM you're good! Good Luck and hopefully you won't have to spend the day I did figuring this out.

Unable to Burn CDs in iTunes for Windows: (Will not fit, but it should.)

I am attempting to fix an issue with a friend's iTunes for Windows. Although previously this computer using this media was able to burn audio CDs through iTunes, recently, an error has appeared before any burn. When loading the proper amount of time to fit on a CD, iTunes claims:
"The songs in this playlist will not fit on one Audio CD"
"Do you want to create multiple Audio CDs with this playlist split across them?"
"This will require more than one CD to complete."

There are a couple of methods for using more than one iPod on a single computer. Method one which has already been described is to have two Mac or Windows user accounts which by definition would give you two completely separate libraries. Method two is to set your preferences so that either one or both iPods get updated with only certain playlists within one library. Have a look at this article and see what you think and go for whichever you feel suits your needs best: How To Use Multiple iPods with One Computer
Another option when using a single library is to set one or both of the iPods to manual update: Managing content manually on iPod
Choosing the update option "automatically update selected playlists only" allows you to create a playlist specifically for each iPod and drag the tracks you want into it. If you tire of the list and want to change it, you just add or remove the songs you don't want. The ones you take out out remain in the library to be used by the other iPod. Make your playlist a Smart playlist and limit the size to just below the advertised capacity of your iPod ( for example, around 3700MB for a 4GB or 1800MB for a 2GB Mini or Nano). I've been having the same issues for the past year and a half. I've spent 6-8months trying to figure it out. Went to various Itunes stores with pictures on my Iphone per each step so I could relay all information that I'd come across and the personnel were less than helpful, after conversations that would sometimes last an hour between myself, employees and managers they always came back to "simply uninstall then reinstall" when I told them for the thousanth time that I've done that multiple times and my errors are happening while trying to reinstall it they act stumped and say "well then I'm not sure, I'll give you a call if I figure it out" and disappear. I've been very disatisfied at the lack of support from Apple and if Android to piece together a reletively reliable phone I'd switch to them in a heartbeat. I'll follow this question incase someone can answer this, but I don't have much faith.
BTW, wifey has Windows 7 running on the laptop and my phone syncs just fine to that and no trouble with itunes, just mine (desktop).

Text in iPod section of iTunes for windows not totally showing up???

When my iPod/iPhone is connected and I browse different sections of iPod/iPhone are in iTunes for Windows, there are several lines of text instructions. Some of which don't display the entire sentence. This seems very odd since there is plenty of blank screen real estate available.
For example:
In the Summary Section (with iPod/iPhone connected), I see 2 lines of text under Version and 4 lines of text under Summary. None of the sentences can be seen complete.
In the Music section, under Sync, I see 1st line reading "Include music videos" but on the next line I only see "Include voice m..." and the following line I see "Automatically fill free space with songs". So why did the shorter sentence not display complete?
Very odd.
Dell laptop w/ Windows 7 HP 64.

Mine is a brand new machine. Burning software was installed before iTunes was installed. I am looking at this article which points to a possible problem with the GEAR drivers: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2308
It also points to the afs.sys and afs2k.sys drivers as a potential problem. I've verified that I don't have these drivers on my machine.
When I go to the GEAR site, it tells you to manually uninstall the GEAR drivers and install the latest ones. First, manual uninstall which involves editing the registry. Really? While I'm quite the expert at registry editing, NO CONSUMER should ever be told to edit the registry to delete anything. Second, if in fact the GEAR drivers are the problem, shouldn't iTunes install the right ones? This is a prime example of poor software engineering at its core.
