ITunes for Windows Movie Maker

I am attempting to create a file/movie that has pictures and I want to add audio, using songs from i-Tunes. Is this possible?, if so how, as I attempted to import using movie maker, but the iTunes file format mp4 is not a supported file.

You cannot convert a .mp4 into an MP3. However, you can use iTunes to burn a .mp4 to an audio CD, which can be used like any audio CD.
MP3s are readily available for purchase at various online stores, such as the amazon.com MP3 Download Store.

  • Burning Videos from iPhone/iTunes with Windows Movie Maker?????

How can I burn videos that I take on my 3GS iPhone and than sync to my PC/iTunes with Windows Movie Maker? When I attempt to load or drag the video file into movie maker it give me an error message due to the file type is not supported. Any suggestions or points in the right direction would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

This is because iTunes Store purchases and in a protected file format, so you won't be able to directly convert them from the protected file into something that Windows movie maker could read.
As the previous poster said, you can try burning the files to a CD, then importing the CD again. I think that ought to work.

  • Exporting .dv files to supported files types for Windows Movie Maker

I am digitizing all of my friends' family videos with iMovie and I now have them all as Apple .dv files. Unfortunately some of my freinds do not have Macs, so I must convert them. There are many options for converting .dv files to formats that Windows Movie Maker can import, but every combination of wrapper and codec I have tried has either resulted in low quality or results in a size that it is at least double. Because these are family memories I do not want to lose quality compared to the Apple Mac .dv files that I have. On the other hand, I would prefer not to double the file size for the same quality that I had.
What converter do you recommend and what combination of wrapper (mpeg4, avi, mov, etc.) and codec (h264, jpeg, etc.) can convert Mac .dv files into full resolution files for Windows Movie Maker?
    What I have tried:
I was advised by Applecare to try DivX converter, but it does not accept .dv files. I have been trying Mpeg Streamclip with the following combinations:
exporting to AVI with DivX Codec seemed low quality
exporting to AVI with H.264 was not readable by Windows Movie Maker
exporting to AVI with Apple Photo JPEG Codec was more than twice the orginal .dv file size
    Thanks.

best to my knowledge - no.
.dv is a standard, created by movie-cams. iMovie handles this codec 'natively'.
only allowed differences are PAL and NTSC …
I copied a zillion .dv files without processing/editing directly from the Events folder onto a fat32-formatted HDD.
but even edited movies are compatible: Export using Quicktime and in the drop down DV-STREAM ...
afaik, in Movie Maker you have to choose 'Import file'  - done.
sorry, no idea which of the hundred of versions of WMM is in use on the other side of the street

  • Can I transfer/copy songs from itunes to Windows Movie Maker?

I am designing a slide show for my daughter's wedding.  If I buy songs through itunes, can I copy/move them to Windows Movie Maker for the slide show.
    I appreciate your input/guidance.

With the iPod connected to your PC and selected on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (if you have iTunes 11 on your PC then you can enable the sidbar via control-S), you should be able to use the Music tab on the right-hand side of iTunes to select which of your music to sync to it e.g. which albums, artists, playlists etc : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1351

  • Transferring downloaded itune to windows movie maker

I am wanting to use a downloaded song for a DVD project I am making, but I get a message stating the song cannot be used because of it's format?!? I am not a computer genius, so I am wondering if there is a way to use a song that has been downloaded from itunes in projects such as Windows Movie Maker. Any thoughts?

Find the song file you want to use, make sure it is in a format that Windows Movie Maker can use, namely MP3 or WAV, and use it.

Sorry purchased content is only playable in iTunes and cannot be used with other programs. You are allowed to burn purchased content onto an audio CD, but thats about it.

  • ActiveX for Windows Movie Maker

    Hi,
We are from the NCS Lab, designing the control interface for a salinity sensor.
It needs to display a movie from generated frames. LabVIEW does a poor job in displaying the frames sequentially as a movie, so we need to use Windows Movie Maker to generate the movie for us.
We want the LabVIEW to use the program to automatically generate the movie from a set of frames. We think that it involves ActiveX, but we have no experience in it.
When we choose Select ActiveX class, we really don't know what class to choose from.
Do you think that LabVIEW can control the Windows Movie Maker to generate a movie from a set of pictures? Does it need a third-party ActiveX control?
    Please give us some hints.

I'd stay away from ActiveX if there is any change to get it working without
it. ActiveX in LabVIEW has so many disadvantages, it outweights the
advantages. Disadvantages: code depends on AX version, it's hard to program
without introducing memory leaks, it's hard to program in general, the
documentation is sparce and not for LabVIEW. Advantage: code reuse to reuse
    all those fancy MS stuff.
I'd look for command line tools that do the same job. Mplayer (mencoder) can
do it (because it can do almost anything with video). See:
    http://www.mplayerhq.hu/DOCS/HTML/en/menc-feat-enc-images.html . A windows
version is available (see http://www.mplayerhq.hu/ ). It's a great tool,
that I can really recommend. And it's open source.
    I tried "C:\Program Files\MPlayer\mencoder.exe mf://*.jpg -mf
    w=200:h=200:fps=25:type=jpg -ovc copy -lavcopts
    vcodec=mpeg4:mbd=2:trell -oac copy -o output.avi" on a sysexec.vi with in
the working directory 50 jpg files generated by LabVIEW. I got a perfect AVI
file, with a mpeg4 encrypted movy in it. Got it working in 30 minutes. Just
be sure you make the w= and h= parameters the same as the jpgs.
But if you for instance google "jpg to avi command line" you'll probably
find a lot of tools that do the same as movie maker but better, and much
    "leaner".

    Wiebe

  • ITunes On Windows Movie Maker

Hi, I am very unhappy due to the fact that i cannot import songs that I have rightly purchased from iTunes Music store. Does anybody have any answers that will allow me to be able to use iTunes purchased music on Microsoft Windows Movie Maker????
    Please help
    Simon

Burn the song to CD (and you get your purchase backed up in the process) then rip the one you want to Mp3.
The songs you purchase from iTunes have copy protection on them. This is normal.

  • Import songs from iTunes into  Windows Movie Maker

I have found it difficult to use my songs in any other application. I'm creating videos using Windows Movie Maker (Vista) and when I go to import the songs aren't showing up in the iTunes Music folder. I also downloaded the files into an external drive. When I opened the external drive separate the songs were there. When I was in Windows Movie Maker and went to import the files weren't there. Any suggestions on how to use songs from iTunes. I feel as though I've purchased them and can't use them anywhere else other than on my iPod and computer.

If they are protected files, that's correct. You can only use them on iPods, authorized computers and Apple TVs.

  • Importing trailer from iTunes to Windows Movie Maker. help?

im trying to import The Prestige trailer into Windows Movie Maker so that i can have it set into the whole program. is it possible to import a trailer from iTunes into another program? i tried to make it able to open with movie maker, but it still isn't working.

WMP does not fully support MPEG, you'll have to convert it to a format supported by this program.

  • Itunes to windows movie maker

    Hi:
I just signed up for itunes account. I have purchased two songs. I want to transfer these songs to my movie maker. I have tried for hours to figure this out. I am trying to do a retirement slideshow for my sister. I need help.
Please someone help me. I have called so many people but nobody seems to know.
    thanks.

What omitfor said is correct. The "Protected AAC Audio" files will only work with iTunes, and your iPod, on an authorized computer.
However, the new "Purchased AAC Audio" a DRM free file that now iTunes just a few days ago I believe made standard, lets you play them anywhere. You might be able to upgrade many of your purchased songs to DRM free, for 30% the original price as an upgrade fee. You can do this from "Upgrade my Library" in the iTunes Store.

  • Exporting a song from itunes to Windows Movie Maker

Can anyone answer this question for me? I am very frustrated with this issue. I had a lot of family members give me itunes gift cards for Christmas so that I could purchase appropriate songs for slideshows that I make for grandchildren and other family members. I cannot get any of the songs into my slideshows as it says that they are mp4's. Someone told me that they have to be mp3's and then someone told me that I could convert them to mp3s within itunes and export them to my slideshows. I am not selling the slideshows, only doing this as a hobby and am now upset that I spent so much time and money on songs I cannot use. Is this true, I can never use them in my slideshows? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Depends what they are. If you purchased .m4p files, be aware that they contain Apple-proprietary DRM "protection" that prevents their use in non-Apple programs. If you purchased .m4a files, you can use iTunes to convert them to MP3.
For future reference, since you plan to use your music for multiple purposes, the most compatible format, by far, is MP3. Make sure that all music you purchase or rip is in MP3 format.

  • How to burn an iTunes song to a CD then loading them to Window Movies Maker

I bought a CD on iTunes, and tried to import one of the songs from iTunes to Windows Movie Maker. I found out that you cannot do so, so I was told to burn the CD that I bought onto another blank CD, then try to save them as a different file title. Could someone tell me how to correctly burn the cd and then how to change the file title so it works to import? Thank you.

I don't think you bought a CD on iTunes, I think you bought an album consisting of a bunch of Protected AAC files!
If you want to burn them, File > New Playlist, and put the songs there. Then Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Burning and make sure "Audio CD" is selected. Then, looking at your playlist File > Burn Playlist to Disc. Burn the CD and then you can use it as any CD.
