Itunes Found Song Info/Ratings But Can't Find Songs
I've been wanting to move my entire itunes library to another computer without losing all my plays/rating/etc
I basically 1st consolidated all my files into one folder, then i copied the folder + itunes folder into an external hardrive and then copied that into my other pc
from there i pressed shift to open iTunes and basically did indeed get all my information transferred EXCEPT for the tiny fact that iTunes couldn't find any of my songs despite them being in the same exact location as my other pc
things to note
using - windows 7 transferred to windows vista
both the pc have two different versions of iTunes
noticed the prefence in the 2nd pc was in the wrong location but changing it didn't do anything
the other pc had no songs etc in iTunes
just in case i deleted the existing itunes folder in 2nd pc
also i don't keep my songs in the default iTunes Media folder, so i don't know if that plays a factor in it.

When updating itunes I get the message the install package can't find a file (itunes.msi) I've searched but can't find this file. How do I install it?
Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the thingy on the Major Geeks page):
http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -

Bought new computer cant sync my songs to new but can sync purchased songs
hello i bought a new computer and cannot sync my songs from my cds from ipod to new computer itunes library but have already synced my purdchased songs from i tunes
There is no issue with syncing to devices.
Regardless, this is a user to user forum, so no one here is going to fix the "issue" for you.
If you have an actual problem, post specifics. "cant sync" means absolutely nothing. -
Our exchange server crashed and we lost all contact and calendar data. We found an app to get the contacts off of people's phone to import but can't find the same for calendar. How do I get my calendar info off my phone and in to new exchange server?
You'd have to think through this, but it seems like if you are using Outlook, and the items vanished from the Outlook client as well as the server, that you could re-populate Outlook using iTunes.

I have money on my iTunes account from gift cards, but can I use this balance to send gifts like songs or albums? It tells me that I need to select a method of payment like a credit card or debit card/paypal but can't I use the balance on my account?
No, you can't. Apple doesn't allow it.

I updated my Ipad to IOS 5 but now my Ipad is blank. I backed up to Itunes but can't find my back up info.
Yes, there are two utilities that I use to perform this task, SuperCrazyAwesome’s iPhone Backup Extractor which is a free utility, and addPod’s Juice Phone, also free. Neither solution will work if you have encrypted your backup files. Both allow you to access the backed up data as if the iPhone was connected to your Mac.

I deleted songs in my iphone on the music app but when I sync with the computer the songs disappear. How can I delete songs on my phone but keep them in iTunes?
I use iTunes Match so I can't confirm this on my computer (my Music tab looks different), but as I recall, on the Music tab you have the option to check to sync selected playlists, artists and genres, and then check which playlists you want to sync below that. Then, like songs, you would uncheck the playlists you don't want on your phone and sync to remove them.

My songs that I purchased on my itunes account from my dad's computer will not play on my new computer, I have access to my entire account but can only play songs purchased using my new computer. Does anyone have any ideas?
Hi Kevin,
Have you authorized the Computer to your Apple ID?
If not, sign on to iTunes.
Then got to the Store menu option at the top of the screen (CTL+B if it is not showing), and click on it to display the dropdown, and select Authorize this computer.
If that doesn't work, then sign on your Dad's iTunes ID and repeat the Authorization process.
Cheers,

If it's an auto-renewing subscription then there is info on turning them off on this page : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4098

I have another computer that a virus may have taken over and I cannot log into it anymore. I just downloaded Itunes on a new computer but most of my songs are not on there. Is there a way to still access or find those songs? Remotely or another way? Or do I need to take it to a tech to get my files off of my hard drive?
Edit > Preferences > Store check Music under Automatic Downloads.
Open the iTunes Store from left hand column, then select Purchasedfrom the column on the right, click the Not In My Library button and select the tunes you want to download again.
That said, you seem to be under a misapprehension as to how iTunes works, or at least how it has worked in the past. It has, until recently, been up to you take care of your purchases once they have been downloaded. You had a one-time download which you were reminded to back up. With the recent change to this policy you can at least download your store purchases again, but having a personal backup of your iTunes store purchases, stuff purchased elsewhere and files ripped from your CDs will still be preferable to gathering all the stuff together again in the event of a disaster.
For a backup strategy see this User Tip.

Purchased a song but can't find it
I recently purchased a song through ITunes, which successfully completed. But after checking my music library it wasn't there, or even checking under "Purchased" tab and it wasn't their either. So I tried redownloading again and it says I can not download the same song twice or I will be charged again, so I cancelled...help locating this song please.
P.S. I recently downloaded an entire album with no problems.Have you tried searching on your computer hard drive for the song? If not then I would recommend going to Start>Search>Music files and enter the song title and it will let you know if it's on the computer. If it isn't then I would send an email to the iTunes Store explaining what happened. To send an email go to: apple.com/support/itunes/store and choose the I can't find my music link and fill out the information required and they should be able to inform you of what the next step is.
