Itunes freezes after upgrading to OS X Mavericks v10.9.3 on connecting iPhone 5.
I tried it with a differnt Iphone and the results are the same. Any suggestions?

I recently upgraded iTunes to 12.1.1.4 on a Win 7pro 64bit system and now iTunes freezes when opening. It seems to be attempting to reach iTunes Store and just thinks until it locks up. I have to force quit it and the only way to get it working again is to reboot my system. When I do that, it will start up fine but if I close it throughout the day and re-open, it hangs again.. I tried to repair and re-install but get the same results... Any suggestions would be appreciated...

I have just upgraded my itunes and when I plug my iphone the itunes freezes..does anyone know how to fix it...my OS is windows vista

ITunes freezes after upgrade

I have recently upgraded iTunes to 6.0.4.2 & am having a real problem with it freezing. It is a bit erratic, but when trying to synch photos on my 5G iPod video I can click on options ok, get the photo options box up ok, but then when I try to browse for the folder, it just freezes. If I click on anything there is a "ding" and a ghost of a box flashes up, but nothing else happens. Ctrl/alt/del shows it as still running and I have to manually close everything and restart. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling both iTunes & QT to the latest versions but still the same problem. Any ideas?? I can't update!!

Did you update the iPod software, too?
Funny things can happen with new iTunes and old iPod software.

You have to download the updater, install it, and then run it with iTunes shut down. Don't plug in the iPod until it asks for it.

Can't update iTunes Match after upgrading to 11.1.5

Hi,
Is anyone else (in Australia) having problems with iTunes Match after upgrading to iTunes 11.1.5 on Mac? I’ve found that whenever I play a track (i.e. update the play count), set a rating or edit a playlist, all my cloud songs become greyed out, the updates are not synced to the cloud (don’t appear on other devices), the iTunes Cloud music icon gets a lightning bolt through it (lost connect), and then my changes are lost. I can reconnect as many times as I like (by clicking on the cloud icon or restarting iTunes) and for a while everything ‘looks’ fine (can download and play songs) but actually nothing is saved to the cloud and the lightning bolt appears again when I make any of the above updates. I have another computer that still has 11.1.4 and iTunes Match is working fine on it.

Thanks Michael, I’d already tried both those (including applying the latest OS X security update and restarting). I kept trying to use iTunes Match every hour, and eventually it started working on my 11.1.5 computer and has staying working for the rest of the day. 11.1.4 was working the whole time.

After upgrading to OS X Mavericks syslogd needs lot of memory and cpu, system is very slow

After upgrading to OS X Mavericks the system is very slow. securityd and syslogd are using 50% of cpu and memory is also used by syslogd and kerneltask (8 GB out of 12). After rebooting the system it runs very well, a view days later (without reboot, only hibernating) the situation is the same.
Looks like a problem in OS X. Any solutions?

I haven't worked out the LDAP messages but I noticed at other times I was seeing lots of album art messages from BlackBerry desktop. I'd already uninstalled the app but it still had processes running. After upgrading to OS X Mavericks Time machine stops backing up and sometimes hangs on ,,preparing,, for o days and sometimes stops inmediatly. Report says:

Is this a Firewire or Thunderbolt connected disk? There are know issues with that in Mavericks. If so try connecting the drive by USB as you continue.
Is it a WD drive? There appear to be issues with those drive on Mavericks.

Hi, I had this same problem. I have a load of work subfolders and was showing the message header but no content. I think it lost the link to the original messages.
There may be a simpler way but I fixed it by going to the mail folders in finder. I took the following steps:
Go to user library (hold down the alt key whilst clicking the Go menu in finder to access user library)
Go to user/Library/Mail/V2/Mailboxes. You should be able to see your mailboxes and your original messages (ending .emlx) after clicking down the hierachy in each mailbox. For some reason mail added a "-2" onto the end of each mailbox which I think has caused the problem.
Copy each required mailbox (.mbox) onto desktop. I removed the "-2" at this stage to clean things up.
In Mail, choose File/Import Mailboxes....
Import data from: Apple Mail. Click continue, navigate to desktop and choose the relevant .mbox folders. Click Choose.
It should then import the mail to a new folder called import in mail. You can then rename that folder or move the subfolders out.
I moved the .mbox folders on my desktop to my documents folder as a backup just in case. I then deleted the problem mailboxes from the finders mailboxes folder.
Problem solved - for me anyway!!

Okidata printer errors after upgrading to OS X Mavericks

Immediately after upgrading to OS X Mavericks, when I try to print with my Okidata C330DN color laser printer will NOT print in color.
I get this message:
"The Print Dialog Extension could not be loaded because it has not been updated to run in this application's secure environment".
I contacted Okidata, who said "give us a week" to update the driver. Well, they updated their driver, I just installed it, and get THE SAME ERROR...

This is because of sandboxing, and Okidata will need to release another driver that handles these permissions issues. You can try printing from a non-sandboxed application like Safari, if that helps.

My Dock icons looks garbled after upgrading to OS X Maverick.

My Dock icons looks garbled after upgrading to OS X Maverick.Not all but most of them look like scattered dots instead of the icons, tried restarting multiple times still no use.
I installed OS X Maverick last week and for a week it looked fine. I have restarted the OS for copule of times after upgrade. Now the Icons in the dock seem to be garbled.

The dock preferences may be corrupted ...
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.dock.plist
Click Go then move the com.apple.finder.plist file to the Trash
Restart your Mac.
