Itunes freezes at 50% when attempting to access the store on WIN7 Pro

Using a Dell Latitude with Windows 7 Pro, fully updated, and working internet - selecting the "store" from the iTunes page results in the status bar freezing at 50% and I can not access the iTunes Store.  Anyone have suggestions for setting changes etc.

Did not get any responses - so did some digging and found the answer myself in other discussions.
Close your iTunes,
Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.

  • 'iTunes has stopped working' when attempting to access the store

This is driving me nuts, had this problem for almost two months now.
On my Windows 7 laptop iTunes is opening fine (able to play music etc) however trying to access the store leaves me with a 'iTunes has stopped working' error message, followed by iTunes closing.
I have NO IDEA what is causing this. I've tried numerous fixes from other threads e.g. copying Qwin files (whatever it is) to it's appropriate folder, redownloading, trying on different user accounts but no luck. I have a feeling this is to do with my account/iTunes match but cannot be certain.
On my mac iTunes works fine - I can access the store, play matched music etc.
Desperate for a fix to this! Anyone got any suggestions?
    Thanks

If you attempt to search for a solution on various forums there appears to be a link for this problem with issues accessing quicktime, and system 32 files.  I have got no problems accessing quicktime, and i Have re-installed itunes several times, uninstalled anti-virus, turned on and off the firewall, all to no avail.  At this point evertime Itunes is opened it attempts to connect to the store and crashes, so cant even listen to the music in the library.
Anybody got any ideas how to fix?
    Thanks in advance

  • Updated to iTunes 12.1, now iTunes crashes every time it attempts to access the internet through our internal proxy - cannot access store!

    Hi,
Does anybody have any experience of using iTunes with a web filtering proxy? My home is using the Sophos UTM home edition to provide edge antivirus and content filtering. More information available here: http://www.sophos.com/en-us/products/free-tools/sophos-utm-home-edition.aspx
The proxy settings for the computer is set to use an automatic configuration script "WPAD" and the settings are locked by group policy and cannot be disabled or changed.
Now here's the problem, when launching iTunes, the iTunes prompts me to enter login details for the HTTPS proxy. That's all well and good, so I enter the login details and hit okay. But when I go to the store tab, iTunes crashes with javascriptcore.dll. This makes sense because a WPAD proxy configuration file is pretty much JavaScript code. But this should not happen, as now I cannot access the iTunes store.
Prior to iTunes 12.1, iTunes would sometimes freeze when attempting to access the store but it would eventually work.
The proxy logs are not showing that any iTunes requests were blocked, dropped or otherwise rejected.
Does anybody have any suggestions to get this to work again or at least work around the issue?
NOTE: Disabling the proxy is not an option because the proxy settings on the Windows computers are locked through group policy. I can however, edit the WPAD proxy configuration file and add exceptions to the proxy but I don't know where to start!
I will also post this on the Sophos UTM support forums.
    Thanks in advance.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If the advice above doesn't resolve things you could try this alternate version:
    iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)
Or roll back to the previous build:
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2014-10-16)
    iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-10-16)

  • A fatal error when attempting to access the SSL server credential private key. Error code 0x8009030d. Windows 8.1.

    Hi,
We develop a server-side application which receives incoming https connections using self-signed certificate. It was all ok while we were using Windows 7 or Windows 2008 as OS, but when our clients started installing Windows 8 as server OS they encountered
big problem: application got unavailable in few hours after start.
In event logs we have following:
A fatal error occurred when attempting to access the SSL server credential private key. The error code returned from the cryptographic module is 0x8009030d. The internal error state is 10001.
After restart, application recreates certificate and all works normal few hours till next fatal error.
    This
article did not help us. And I repeat that this error appears only on Windows 8 (we tested on Windows 8.1). Windows 2012 Server we did not test yet.
How we can solve this problem?
    Best regards.

    Hi,
Since this article released in 2008,I suspect the code mentioned in this article doesn't  supprot Windows 8.
And since the certificate was written by C#,I suggest you submit a new case on MSDN Forum as they will be more professional on your issue:

  • TS1424 Why am I getting error 11222 when trying to access the store?

Why am I getting error 11222 when trying to access the store?

The 11222s can sometimes be associated with LSP issues.
    I'd try the following document:

(If there's a SpeedBit LSP showing up in Autoruns, it's usually best to just uninstall your SpeedBit Video Accelerator.)

  • ITunes Crashed when attempting to access Music Store

hello. I am using iTunes 6.0.5.20 as of today, and continue to have a problem carried over from the previous version...
when I attempt to access the iTunes music store in the regular manner the program closes without any error messages, the icon remaining in the system tray until i scroll my mouse over it upon which it disappears - the program crashes outright -
i have e-mailed apple support and attempted to use all of their automatically generated solutions in solving this problem including -
upgrading (was never the issue i stay up-to-date generally)
checking my network and program access settings including firewalls etc.
    run the repair process
run the un-install re-install process of both itunes and quicktime
i've also tried re-calibrating the itunes library by deleting the appropriate files and having itunes re-determine the included files... nonetheless the problem remains
this is becoming immensely frustrating and to be frank, i work in the recording industry and for all the talk about apple support - i have been immensely frustrated by the lack of personal support whatsoever - i have received only automated responses regarding online documentation... as if i didn't spend horus trying to solve the problem before sending an e-mail at all.
please if anybody has any ideas i'm desperate to solve this.
    cheers
    elias

Your problem is the same one affecting countless iTunes users, including myself. There seems to be a common factor in that most if not all are using Windows XP Pro and I've noticed that the computer make, when listed, is a Dell. I have been through all the same Apple fixes, waited on hold for support for 1 1/2 hours just to be hung up on. I've had this issue for over a month and it has transcended both iTunes ver 6.0.4 and 6.0.5. Interesting thing, sometimes I get an error message telling me iTunes has to shut down and most of the time, the application closes unexpectantly and I have the same icon in the system tray till I hover my mouse over it. Frustration has turned to anger and a desire to find another product to get music into my and my 2 kids Ipods. I'll keep an eye on your post and let you know if I uncover anything as well.

  • Safari Freezes When Attempting to Access Apple Store

I was just wondering if anyone was experiencing problems with Safari 4 freezing and crashing when browsing to a specific page. In my case, it's when I try to access the Apple Store through the Apple website. When I click on the "Store" link, it begins loading, then freezes and crashes. I have reset Safari, and even gone as far as deleting and reinstalling Safari. It says my current version is 4.0.1 and no software update is available. Anyone know how this can be fixed? Any help or input is greatly appreciated!

Since it works fine in Firefox, that definitely indicates an issue with Safari 4. Did you try it in another user account?
Beyond that, I'm not too sure what you can do to get it working again. However, if you repost in the Safari for Mac forum, the folks there should be able to help. Here's the link for that forum:

  • I get a runtime error when attempting to search the store in Itunes.  I unistalled and reloaded. How can I fix this?

I just began getting a runtime error when attempting to search the iTunes store.
I uninstalled and reinstalled but, it's still happening.
How can I fix this so I can start to buy music again?

I have the same error, but I think we will get no solution for this problem.
You've get no answer here and the Apple support also doesn't send an answer how to solve the problem.
BTW I have also Windows 7 and the newest version of iTunes 64-bit.

  • ITunes crashes when trying to access the store

For the past few days my iTunes hasn't been working properly. At first it started by 'Not Responding' as soon as I would open it. Windows would run it's little test and ask me to close the window. I uninstalled it and re-installed it and it seemed to work fine, except now instead of crashing as soon as I open it, it occurs when I open the store. I've tried installing 11.3 and still had the issue. I've done all the things I can find online such as copying the QTMovieWin.dll and quite a few other things. If I ask Windows to debug it I get two errors, they are:
    -      An unhandled exception occurred in iTunes.exe [8912]
    -      Unhandled exception at 0x5AC09908 (CoreFoundation.dll) in iTunes.exe 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x00000070.
    Any ideas?

  • ITunes crashes every time I try to access the store

Every time I try to access the iTunes store in the iTunes app it crashes. I am running Win 7 Home edition and the latest iTunes (I even uninstalled and reinstalled). Not only that but the albums that I purchased from the store only about 1/2 of the songs play. The other half give the message that I am not authorized to play the song. How can I be authorized for only half of the songs? And it happens on every album purchased from the iTunes store. (I tried everything in this support article iTunes repeatedly prompts to authorize computer to play iTunes Store purchases - Apple Support)

    Greetings donm_hawaii,
After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help with iTunes for Windows issues. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice for the issue you are experiencing:
iTunes for Windows: System restarts, blue screen, or quits unexpectedly when accessing iTunes Store
When accessing the iTunes Store on Windows, your computer may restart or display a blue screen (Windows XP), or iTunes may quit unexpectedly (Windows Vista). You might also have issues opening iTunes if it is configured to open to the iTunes Store.
This issue is caused by outdated drivers for ATI Radeon 2400 series video cards.
Note: Some companies other than ATI may have manufactured video cards based upon the design of the ATI Radeon 2400 series.
A driver is a piece of software that allows your operating system to communicate with a piece of hardware. Your PC consists of many hardware components, such as your hard disk, optical drive (CD or DVD drive), USB card, and video card. All built-in and external devices require drivers to communicate with your operating system.
When iTunes is accessing the iTunes Store, it relies upon your video card driver to display certain animation and graphics within the iTunes Store. This can trigger an issue which is fixed in newer versions of your video card drivers.
To find out what video card and version you have:
Right-click My Computer (Windows XP) or Computer (Windows Vista) and choose Manage.
Click Device Manager in the list on the left of the Computer Management window.
Click the plus sign next to Display Adapters in the list on the right.
Right-click the video card and choose Properties.
Take note of the name of the device.
Click the Driver tab for more details.
If there are multiple video card entries, repeat steps 4-6 for each entry.
For each driver listed, check the manufacturer's website to see if there is an updated version available. For more information on how to update drivers, follow Updating the drivers on your Windows PC.
If your drivers are the most up-to-date versions, from your computer manufacturer or video card manufacturer, you should consider installing the most updated driver from ATI.
    Learn more
This is different than the issue described in What to do when Windows displays a blue screen error message or restarts when syncing the iPhone or iPod touch. The similarity is due to both issues being related to outdated drivers and driver conflicts.
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
    Bobby_D

  • I have downloaded the latest version of itunes and it opens but i cannot access the store

i cannot access the itunes store even though i have an internet connection and i have downloaded the latest version...i had no issues prior to 10.5...i have also unistalled itunes and reinstalled it per Apple support...twice. no luck ugh.

It's likely your antivirus or firewall is blocking the download. Try disabling them. Also, if you have a Windows computer a recent Microsoft update corrupted winsock settings. To fix this open a command window as Admin and type:
    netsh winsock reset
After a restart of the PC you should have no more iusses.
