  • ITunes freezes half way through CD download?

    Hi,
I have been trying, without sucess, to download music from CDs. The download starts and a little more than half way through the download, iTunes and everything else freezes. I have yet to get through a complete CD. I have tried removing and reinstalling. I even tried to just download one song at a time (the ones that didn't originally download) and it freezes half way through that download as well. I am able to download from the iTunes store without any issues.
I thought it was my memory on my PC, so I deleted a ton of stuff and now about half disk free space now available.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
    Thank you!

  • Why does the video freeze half way through my movie and the audio keep going?

Why does my movie freeze half way through and the audio continues?

Most likely this is due to running out of virtual memory. You can reset virtual memory by restarting your Mac.
Long term you may want to consider purchasing more memory.

  • After Quicktime dowloads, it freezes half way through.

I made a QT movie (size 640x480, H 264, K frame 24, frame reorder: yes, D rate: 2.30 mbits, sound: IMA 4:1 mono, about 76MB).  It runs fine on my MacBook. I uploaded it to my website, it was then sent through an email and downloaded to another MacBook Air.  it looks clear and the sound is fine til half way through, then the screen freezes and the music stops, the little dot though still moves along the bottom of the control bar, as if it is still going. Tried downloading again and teh same thing happens in the same place. This happened with another video as well.
    Any ideas?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions BigMak
This is likely not a preference issue, but just to be sure, when you deleted the preferences, did you delete all of the preference files as I detail in my user tip, AppleWorks has stopped working correctly?
More likely this "freezing" (as opposed to crashing) is a problem with full Recent Items and/or AutoSave folders or a corrupt font. There are three articles in the User Tips Library dealing with Recent Items.
Dale Gillard - AppleWorks slow? Spinning ball appears?
Dale Gillard - Recent items not visible/updated
Yvan Koenig - No More Recent Items
The most frequent cause of AppleWorks quitting during start up is a corrupt font. In watching the AppleWorks start up window, do you see where it was when it crashed? If my guess is correct, it would be during "Building Font Menu." First, look for a font named Bauhaus 93. This font is installed by versions of Microsoft Office before Office 2004. The Bauhaus 93 with Office 2004 is not corrupt. If you don't find Bauhaus 93 you'll need to go through the trial & error of locating a corrupt font. Using the OS X Font Book is not reliable when it comes to finding problem fonts affecting AppleWorks.
The trial & error method of corrupt font isolation involves moving all of the fonts from the various font folders to another folder (the Desktop is a good place) & then moving a few back at a time & trying to launch AppleWorks. When it crashes you will know the culprit is in the last bunch.

  • Rented movie freezes half-way through?

This has happened to me several times. A rented movie will pause about half-way through playing and then refuse to play any more. I ignored the problem before, but am working on a movie review for school and really need to get this fixed! There is no error message, the movie simply freezes and will not progress past a certain point.

  • Track purchased from iTunes stops half way through & Jumps to the next track on both computer & iPod

Purchased album from iTunes. One track stops half way through & jumps to the next track on both computer & iPod.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

  • Weird installation freeze half way on iMac

This is weird - I started the installation of Yosemite and the computer restarted. It began to boot and displays the apple logo and a loading bar (currently half way completed) but it's been like this for hours. Strangely if I use iTeleport to access my iMac remotely, it says my computer is available but when I log in it just shows a blank screen. I also got a message on my iPhone saying that my iMac has linked to my iCloud account.
    What should I do?
    Thanks in advance,
    R

Restart your Mac, with the Shift Key held down during start-up (Safe mode), go to System preferences, Users & Groups, go to 'Login Items' tab near top-right of window, and highlight all items and hit the ' - ' button to remove them. You may need to click the padlock bottom-left and enter your system password, to make those changes. Restart once you close the window, and see if this gets you past the stuck loading bar on start-up.

  • ATV sync with iTunes stops half way through

I purchased a movie on AppleTV and it downloaded fine to the AppleTV. When I opened iTunes on my Computer it began to sync and copied about 50% of the movie across onto iTunes then stopped.
I have tried any number of times and it always does the same thing, stops 50% of the way through, so there's no copy on iTunes.
I'm afraid that if I do a full reset on the AppleTV, I'll lose the movie and as its not on iTunes, I'll never see it again.
    Any Suggestions?

Have had similar problems for months but (fingers crossed) appear to have fixed it in the last couple of days.
    Windows XP running iTunes 9.0.2
    BT Home hub router
    ATV firmware 3.0.1
Three ATVs, one connected wirelessly (close to router), one connected via ethernet cable, one connected wirelessly (long distance from router). Laptop running iTunes is connected wirelessly.
The first two ATVs worked fine, however the long distance wireless ATV would appear in iTunes for a couple of minutes, begin syncing and then permanently disappear. Restarting iTunes had no affect. Only rebooting the ATV would bring it back and then it would disappear after a couple of minutes again. When the ATV was not displayed in iTunes it still had an internet connection and could access the Apple Store, YouTube etc.
Each ATV and the laptop is assigned a static IP address via the router. The windows firewall has the following ports open for iTunes (TCP 3689, UDP 5353 and TCP 49152). I haven't seen 49152 mentioned anywhere else but on the odd occaission iTunes has produced an error message about this port being blocked.
Firstly, I don't believe the wireless signal strength displayed by the ATV. It always appears very strong but any laptop placed anywhere in the same room shows an almost negligable signal. I also noticed the ATV was regularly loosing it's connection with the router and then reconnecting. I installed some HomePlug (85Mb/s) mains Network adapters so the ATV had a better hard wired connection (although because of the distance this ran at about half speed). This improved the ATV connection with iTunes, it would now last around 60 minutes before it disconnected and needed rebooting (it was roughly the same length of time, every time).
I finally ran an ethernet cable directly from the router to the ATV and all the problems went away. The troublesome ATV immediately transfered two movies to iTunes which then transferred them to the other ATVs while iTunes transferred a further 300 songs onto the troublesome ATV. I finally have all three ATVs with a consistant connection with iTunes. No matter what order I turn the PC or ATVs off and on, connections are always reestablished and permanent.
Could the issue be the quality of the network connection?
I have since updated the ATVs to firmware 3.0.2 without any problems. I am reluctant to update iTunes to v9.0.3 as others have recently reported on this forum that it has caused previously funtioning ATVs to loose their connections.

  • I keep trying to download itunes but half way through the downloading of it stops and says theres something missing but it doesnt say whats missing

does anybody know how i can sort this out? ive got enough memory in the laptop for the 10.5 download

Yes i've tried all of that. I've turned it all the way on and off and erased all of my music and put it back on and nothing works. And with the breaking up CDs and putting into compilation categories i have already fixed all of that stuff. It's fine it just doesn't show up in the list of artists. I can find the album in the songs category and the albums category it's just it doesn't show tha name of the artist. All of the other albums that i downloaded before i updated my itunes to th most recent update are fine. It's just the two that i downloaded afterwards. Thanks for trying though.

  • CS4 rendering and the audio is fine but the video freeze half way through

    Hi I need your help
I am using Premiere Pro CS4 on a MAC,
We have a project that is using multicam editing of footage from 2 cameras. the footage is fine in the timeline when you move through the time line the footage is 2hours 20 min when edited.
When rendering this out it takes about 9 hours when you play footage back it stops at the 43 min mark the audio continues but the video freezes on the frame for the rest of the footage.
We have rendered a small clip 5 mins ether side of the footage where this happens and the footage is fine when played back.
Do you have any ideas as to what I can do
    Rodney

    Rodney,
The first thing that I would look for would be a gap in the Video, and especially in that 43 min. range. Even a 1 Frame gap can cause issues. I find that gaps can be tough to spot, even when the Timeline is zoomed into the frame-level. I use the keyboard shortcuts, PageUp & PageDn, to step through the Clips. The CTI (Current Time Indicator) should jump smoothly from Clip to Clip. If you encounter a little hiccup, or pause, you have likely found a gap. This is the first thing that I would rule out. If there are no gaps, then something else seems to be happening at that 43 min. mark.
To rule out another possibility, though a remote one, are you Exporting to an external HDD, that is perhaps formatted to FAT-32 (max file size ~ 4GB), which is the normal format for an external to go between a Mac and PC, as the Mac cannot yet use the NTSF format. Like I said, this is not very likely, especially as your Audio keep playing.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Video Podcast Freeze Half Way

I just started looking at a few video podcast and I am a bit frustrated. They all stop about halfway through the video. I have tried several with the same results. I can drag the control bar and see the rest of the video as frames but they will not play as video.
    Any suggestions?
I am not trying to put them on my Ipod as I only have a shuffle and I doubt that it would do me any good.
    Thanks in advance,

I have the same issue. It's not just iTunes - the same thing happens when you play it in Quicktime.
    I'm running 10.4.7
    iTunes 6.0.5
    Quicktime 7.1.2
It's not just one individual podcast either. Multiple podcasts.

  • Rented Movie Freezes Half Way Through It

I had to rent a movie twice because I didn't finish it within the first 24 hours (which is completely stupid by the way) - I tend to rent movies to watch them on the plane and can't finish it so I have to rent them twice if I want to finish it. Anyway, the second time I rented it, the video froze about halfway through the movie. The audio kept going, but the video was stuck on one frame. The only thing that I think could have happened was that wifi probably dropped while downloading and 3G picked it back up. Since I downloaded it at a hotel with free wifi, they make you log back in every day in order to use their wifi again, so that's why I'm guessing this is what happened. How can I ask for a refund on this second rental? Also...how can I tell apple to test this and fix it? or does posting this on this forum do the trick?
