Itunes freezes my computer when I open it...
I just bought my first ipod a few weeks back. I downloaded itunes and moved all of the music off of my computer onto my itunes, then synced it to my ipod.
Now, when I try to open itunes - it opens but then freezes. It keeps saying it's analyzing my songs, but it never finishes!
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling itunes, however whenever I redownload it, it pulls up with all the same music and does the same thing. I'm starting to go nuts, I just want to add more music to my ipod!

Put your ipod into disk mode to restore it:
Reset (Menu + Centre Button)
As it is resetting (when the screen goes blank) quickly hold down the Play and Centre buttons until your ipod tells you it is disk mode (indicated by a tick on the screen)
Plug your ipod in a Mac or a PC, eventually it will pick it up with iTunes and request a restore.
Never plug out an iPod if it has not been ejected.

Windows may have assigned a drive letter to your iPod that is conflicting with another device. With the exception of your iPod, keyboard and mouse, disconnect all other USB devices including printers, thumb drives, external hard drives, scanners, USB modems etc. and change the drive letter on your iPod. Try M or P or Z.

ITunes freezing up computer when addding songs
I keep having an issue where each time I go to load new tracks to my iTunes library, it freezes up seconds into the song, then I have to back out of the system completely. This affects EVERYTHING and most times I have to turn the computer off all together to even use the system. I've tried unistalling/reinstalling the software, which works sometimes, but mostly I can't get the issue resolved. Anyone have the same problem, or know where to go with this?
You have the latest updates for the iPod and iTunes? I have also read that Firewire is causing this a lot.

Recently updated Itunes to 10.7 and when I try running it, it ends up freezing my computer and never opening. I uninstalled it and then reinstalled it, and the same thing has happened. I don't know what to do.
I am experiencing the same issue , feels very annoying . By the way I using a Windows system but that should not matter.

I am trying to download itunes to my computer, when i hithe download button all it does is go to the "now that you have downloaded itunes" screen.....NOTHING HAS BEEN DOWNLOADED!!!!!!!!!......i have been trying for 2 days to do this, please help.....Thanks

i have iphone 5s which when i connect to import the pictures directly to my windows computer. a folder by the name of my phone appears in "My Computer" . when i open it, it shows the storage information and one icon to click on. when opened it shows a couple of folders to click upon to view pictures. when i open the pictures folder and delete all the pictures , even then a lots of unclickable windows icons remain

If you for some reason must have many different folder make sure that you put the newst photo in the last folder so one can easily find a photo when I don't want to copy all photos to, let' say, my friend computer. -
My ipod nano is not recognized in itunes on my computer, when it has in the past. How do I fix this problem?
I would think, Twins1995, that if we are having the problem, others are as well. Hopefully, Apple will shortly issue a follow-up software release to fix the problem. Or is that just wishful thinking on my part.
It would be helpful, if there were some kind of work-around in the interim, so we can use our devices. Pretty frustrating when you consider that all of the hardware and software is produced by Apple. -
Two days ago I changed my apple id. Itunes recognizes my new apple id when I access itunes via the computer. when I try to make a purchase or update my apps on my iphone, it asks to give the password to the old apple id. How do i change it on my iphone?
Apps and music are forever tied to the Apple ID under which they were purchased. If you don't want to continue to get that message, delete the apps and purchase them again with your new Apple ID.

iTunes keeps shutting down when I open it up. The message says iTunes has stopped working. A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solutions is found.

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. If you've already tried something like the above then try opening iTunes in safe mode (press and hold down CTRL+SHIFT as you start iTunes) then going to Edit > Preferences > Store and turning off Show iTunes in the Cloud Purchases. You may find that iTunes opens normally now.

A year ago i installed iTunes on my computer when i bought my iPod. I never used the iTunes store. Since a week i have an iPhone and i want to install some apps, like whats app.
So i got myself a click and buy account (since I have no creditcard), put money on that account, went to my iTunes store, clicked on the whatsapp button, selected click and buy as my paring method, loged in, and then in the loading fase to iTunes store it says:

"connecting to THE iTunes store"
"loading..."
"we are unable to find iTunes on your computer"

I tried the first, but the link that appears doesnt help.
I even deinstalled my iTunes to install it again! And still no success.
I have no Norton security or whatever, just Windows firewall.
So i guess it cant be a firewall error or something.

Same problem here -- latest 10.6.8 on a Santa Rosa Mac Book with 6 GB of RAM -- Safari 5.1.10 and iTunes 11.2.2 -- noticed that the song lists don't display, just a blank area where the song listing SHOULD display -- shows a slider to the right, but nothing on the list. Can play online radio just fine -- main default iTunes store window looks normal, and I can select one of the songs from the default store window, and it plays just fine -- but if I search for Fleetwood Mac or Boston, of which iTunes carries both, song list comes up blank -- other Fleetwood Mac non-song offering show normally.
Hold on -- now it is WORKING -- I used Safari to log into this Apple Help section using my active Apple ID, and I was presented with some sort of Apple license agreement and checkbox before I was able to proceed to this help section to comment -- I wonder if iTunes was hung up because I had not yet agreed to the latest Apple ID User(?) license agreement, but iTunes was not showing me the agreement so that I could check the box, etc.
Anyone having this problem, double-check that Apple has you on record per the latest license agreement -- my iTunes was showing that I was logged in using my correct Apple ID (only have one), but never displayed anything about a license agreement -- only when I logged into this Apple trouble-shooting help section via Safari was I presented with a license agreement update notification screen -- which, once agreed, seems to have cleared up my iTunes Store song list blanking problem. -
ITunes is Crashing my computer when I open or try to uninstall

Just got an iPod and downloaded iTunes, when installing for the first time computer crashed on the click to finish screen.
After powering up again I clicked on the iTunes icon (to start iTunes) and the computer crashed again... (side note, durning this install iTunes didn't make it into the programs list for add/remove programs).
I then installed iTunes again into a different folder, everything worked then I attempted to open itunes and my computer crashed again...
Powered up again and tried to remove iTunes from the add/remove programs list and the computer crashed again (without removing iTunes)
I tried all of this again with my anti virus program not running (avg) and had the same problems. I will most likely find a differnt program to use but I would like to be able 2 use iTunes.Wow, sounds like a mess.

And then see if you can get QuickTIme to install properly. That is what gives most PCs a problem. iTunes needs QT to run.

Itunes locks up computer when I try to burn songs in itunes
i had to have this imac's original optical cd burner replaced with a MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-85J: at an authorized apple location due to it would not eject discs.
I also had them replace the HD with a new WDC WD10EALX-009BA0 1TB drive plus the increased the RAM to 3 GB.
now when i tried to burn songs in itunes v 10.6.8 to a CD-R disc it goes thru the motions like it is going to start the burn process but ends up freezing my computer and I have to reboot without any disc being burned!?? It freezes each time I tried using itunes to burn songs.
I was also getting an error message saying some of the songs were not authorized on this computer but when I go to authorize this computer it says it is already authorized as well as 3 others out of 5 possible.
This imac has been used by all of us but since replacing the HD & CD drive mainly my daughter and my wife plug their iphones and ipad2 to it. We all have iphones and an ipad2 but only my wife and daughter hook those items up to this computer as I have two other macs I use to connect my iphone to so have not tried to hook to this imac since the new hardware was installed.
My daughter was the 1st one to hook her iphone up to this imac and itunes now shows her name at the top of the itunes window when open. I assume her name was transferred to this computer via her iphone. Does that matter if my wife hooks her ipad2 and iphone up to this computer too?
Why would the computer lock up when trying to burn a music disc?

Give us your specs, also any information about what happened to you, and we'd at least have a fighting chance to sort things out.
Now, we've got no clue as to what went wrong.
