ITunes Freezes on Mad Men page

Maybe iTunes is trying to tell me i'm too into this show, but I've been buying each episode all season long, and suddenly when I go to that specific show's page in the store, itunes freezes and crashes.
I can go to every other page in the iTunes store... it's JUST the Mad Men page that makes the program freeze, what the ****?
I'm running the most recent version of iTunes.
Thanks.

- See if resetting the iPod will either fix the problem or allow iTunes to see the iPod so you can restore the iPod.
- Next see if placing the iPOd in recovery mode will allow a restore. For recovery mode:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore

  • Mad Men Episode 5G Video Freezing

Hi, I downloaded the Mad Men episode "5G" over the weekend and have a problem with the video freezing at timecode 06 min 56 sec. The picture freezes but the sounds continues. The video remains frozen even if I jump ahead or back to another spot in the episode. The only way to get the episode to re-sync is to close and restart the episode but of course, the picture freezes at the exact same spot. The strange thing is the video freezes only on my computer; when I play the episode on my iPhone or iPod, the video never freezes. Does anyone else have this problem?

I don't really understand your suggestion I "convert the file again." I downloaded the episode from the iTunes Store; I didn't rip it from a DVD.
The video freezes at the same spot whether I play it through iTunes or with the standalone Quicktime player. I also copied the file to another drive and played it off their second hard drive and it freezes at the same spot. I'm really hoping that someone else who downloaded this episode can verify whether or not their copy freezes at the same spot when played on their computer. As I mentioned in my original post, the video plays fine on my iPhone and iPod, it only freezes when played on my computer. Anyone else who owns this episode care to share?

  • Mad Men W/drawal: When can I file against Apple & iTunes? Help me download!

I've been having this same issue since the iTunes 10 release (and I am still on iTunes 9.2.1) — I can purchase new shows, or songs, and they download fine, but I cannot ever download subscriptions (my "Mad Men" episodes every week!). I can't get past the error message "Unable to check for available downloads. The iTunes Store is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later." when I >Check for available downloads.
I have more than a month of "Mad Men" and other things waiting to download, and this is beyond aggravating. I have a "Community" addiction I need to feed on Friday mornings in exactly this way.
Anyone have any idea what the problem is, or a solution?

I got good results by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE. After talking with the tech reps for a bit, I found out two important things:
    1) "Normal" iTunes support isn't equipped to deal with complex problems. But, the phone reps can access an internal chat line with iTunes techs to get problems solved. This lead me to find out that:
    2) The "Welcome to the New Season" faux-episode that came with the season pass is corrupt. Once they delete this and "re-grant" your downloads, everything worked perfectly.

  • How long after Mad Men airs is it posted/made available in iTunes Store?

I have the Mad Men season pass and I usually wait until Monday to watch but I'd like to watch tonight (the night it normally airs). How long after Mad Men (or any show for that matter) airs is it made available for download in the iTunes store?
    Thanks
    Tony

Normally it's with 24 hours, but it's up to the network/production house how quickly they make the video file available to the iTunes Store for posting. It's extremely rare for an episode of any TV show to appear in the iTunes Store on the same night as the episode first airs.
Last night's episode, "Summer Man", is available in the iTunes Store as of this morning (Monday).
    Regards.

  • I purchased season 6 of mad men on AppleTV, can't see it in iTunes

I purchased season 6 of mad men on AppleTV (3rd gen), can't see it in iTunes. I am signed in to Store with same ID. It is iTunes 11.  I check for available downloads and it says I have none available.  But that season is not in my library.

Season's Passes don't go to your available downloads anymore. Grab it there:

  • Mad men series 2 - why isn't it available on iTunes in the uk

Why isn't mad men series 2 available on iTunes in the uk

Of course it was shown on a UK Channel! Back in 2009! And the really annoying thing is that series 1, 3 and 4 are available so it makes no sense whatsoever!!

  • HT1933 Mad Men download issues 4/21/13

Did anyone else have any issues with the latest episode (4/21/13) of "Mad Men"?  The email iTunes sent didn't have the hyperlink embedded, and I checked for purchases in my account to no avail.  Thoughts?

    Hello noochi01,
I found another "problem" in my first XP installation... some years ago I learned to press F5 during the first WinXP setup screen (where it says "press F6 for storage controller...") in order to manually select "ACPI-PC" as the PC type. Otherwise sometimes the non-ACPI HAL would be installed due to some crappy ACPI BIOSes which results in the "You may now switch off the computer" message instead of power down.
This manual ACPI-PC selection was what I also did when I first setup XP SP3 on the T61p... now I noticed the machine runs on only one of the 2 CPU cores. Cause is that the selection of "ACPI-PC" will install the uniprocessor XP kernel:-/
So I now did another clean setup with selecting "ACPI multiprocessor PC" => multiprocessor kernel is installed and both CPU cores are used. With this setup I don't have problems with either the original UltraNav 13.x driver or the Ricoh SD/MMC host controller driver.
I'm very unsure if the uniprocessor kernel in the first installation caused these driver problems or if I simply installed the drivers in a different sequence this time... but there's no freeze until now.
Can you check if both CPU cores are active on your machine? E.g. the Windows task manager shows two graphs for CPU usage, two frequencies are shown in System Properties etc.?
btw: The 3.57.01 Ricoh drivers from the ASUS website seem to work well for the ThinkPads with that Ricoh 4-in-1-controller: http://dlsvr.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/Drivers/Cardreader/CardReader_Ricoh_VT_090513.zip
I don't know why Lenovo did never release that driver update?! On the Ricoh page there are no downloads for "industrial products"... and that controller seems already outdated.
    Cheers,
     Wolfgang

  • Mad Men Season 4 crashes

Every time I attempt to enter the Mad Men Season 4 page on iTunes, it crashes. This happens on both iTunes 9 and 10. What is up with this...? Very frustrating. Has happening like 10 times in a row, after reboot and all...Everything else works fine. Very odd.

This happened to me last week as well. I went to amazon.com video on demand.

  • Mad Men Season 3 Download Error on iPhone 3GS

    Background:
I have an iPhone 3GS running 3.1.2 software. I purchased Mad Men season 3 and it started the download. It downloaded 3 episodes before I was able to sync with itunes and now itunes is downloading the remaining episodes.
    Problem:
The 3 episodes that were downloaded on the iPhone, freeze and play a high pitched squeal approximately 75% of the way into each episode. The elapsed time meter is still moving forward while this happens, so it's not as it stopped playing. It's incredibly frustrating. To further complicate the issue, the episodes that were ultimately downloaded via iTunes, play fine all the way through.
    Solution:
I have no idea... Please help...

The only way that worked for me was deleting the songs in iTunes (both iCloud and Mac while keeping the files). Then updating iTunes Match. Next, drag and drop the album back to iTunes and update Match.
Next, on iPhone, the only way that worked to download them is to actually playback each song in the album NOT "download all" button or even individual download button. If I use the buttons, it downloads part of the song then I get the error message or it stops midway and you can't delete the song from the download queue. Again, the only way that worked for my iPhone was to playback each song without skipping any of them and they easily downloaded on my phone. Hope this helps
PS: The check downloads on iTunes did nothing to me as it never showed the iOS queue items, only my undownloaded purchases from iTunes Store.

  • ITunes Freezes when I try to sync my new iPod Touch

I can't sync my new iPod with my iTunes library. I have posted in the iTunes forum, although my title says that I have solved the issue. It isn't, so I'm contemptlating reposting.
I bought a 64gig iPod Touch the other day to replace an old broken iPod. When I try to sync it with my main iTunes library, after a short while (5-500 songs) iTunes freezes and won't shut down. I have on a couple of occasions got a message saying the the computer can't write to the iPod, or the iPod isn't responding, or an "Unknown Error".
It seems to work fine with my laptop.
I found a page on fixing "Unknown Errors" and have tried most of the suggestions.
    I've tried:
*) Uninstalling and Reinstalling iTunes several times
*) Resetting and restoring my iPod several times
*) Updating my drivers - they are all up to date apparently
*) Stopping all unnecessary programs and services from running on start up
*) Creating a new user account and trying to sync my iPod from there. I have successfully managed to sync the iPod with a small number of songs or a film on my own account, so I need to test it with a fairly big library. I copied my main iTunes library into iTunes on the new account. The sync hasn't worked (although it is syncing the same files).
I found a post with a google search that suggested it could be a power drain on my USB port / Bus, or somet fhing like that. Not sure exactly what that means, but it sounded plausible. I have recently upgraded my graphics card.
I did also see a solution posted that suggested formatting the iPod using My Computer and the iPod icon, but I can't imagine that would do anything more than the restore iPod option in the iPod menu?
Can anyone help? Getting a bit fed up now... I've had the iPod a couple of weeks and have barely been able to use it yet.

Are you using security software on your PC? If yes, try to disable the software or check the settings. More info here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3125

  • Itunes freezes when connecting and ipod does not show up

When I connect my nano 3rd gen in windows vista using itunes 9 my ipod does not show up and itunes freezes. the ipod remains with the connected screen and I cannot close out of itunes. Any help would be wonderful... Thanks!!

I have (finally)solved the problem with my iTunes freezing! Here's what I did:
1.I backed up my entire music library to an external hard drive.
2.Then I completely uninstalled iTunes 9 from my computer.
3.After a re-boot I then completely deleted my entire music library. (this can be a little scary so I double checked my music library back up on the external drive)
4.I Googled iTunes 8 and found it at
    http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/06/28/apple-itunes-8-2-and-quicktime-7-6-2-di rect-download-links/
    5. I downloaded it but before I installed it I copied my music library back to my computer. I did not copy everything that was in my original iTunes music folder however, I only copied the music, album art work, applications, games,Tv shoes, and podcasts folders. I placed those folders in a new folder called iTunes on my computer. I did not include any of the iTunes database files eg: .itl / .xml / or .itdb files as these were created in iTunes 9.
    6. Now I opened iTunes 8.2 and added all of my music and other media content.
    7. Next I attached my iPod nano to my computer. Then Windows automaticly open a window asking me if I wanted to scan for problems or continue without scanning. I had windows scan for problems and once that was done my iPod nano began to sync. Oh what joy!
I think, and this is only a guess based on what I've read here on Apple's discussion pages and my own experience, that there is a problem/conflict or bug with iTunes 9, Windows Vista and the 3rd -4th generation iPod. I will NOT be upgrading to iTunes 9 until Apple has addressed this issue. It seems to me that there are a lot of people having similar issues.

  • ITunes freezes only when iPod is connected to USB

    Hello. Here's a real head-scratcher...
I have an iPod touch (model MA627LL, sw version 2.2.1) that I've used with no problem on this computer for a long time. It had not synced since last April, so I tried this morning, and have been troubleshooting ever since!
    a) Windows Vista ultimate brought up Autoplay when I plug in the Ipod - so I went into Control Panel and told it to stop that.
    b) Plugging in the iPod does NOT make iTunes come up
    c) Open iTunes first (version 8.2.1.6) ad THEN plug in iPod - not only does it not acknowledge the device, but iTunes freezes. If I unplug the iPod, then it unfreezes! This is regardless of what USB pot I use. (Keep in mind this was never a problem before)
    d) I made sure I have the latest Windows updates (gawd I hate Windows--but that's another topic)
    e) I reset the iPod (but not sure if there is a "harsher" reset I should try?
    f) Have rebooted the computer...
    Three notes:
    1) This is an almost-one-year-old high-end laptop from Sager with top-of-line everything.
    2) I use a universal remote with my iPod (has worked fine for about 7 months) -- this stopped working with the iPod some time in the last few days. Interesting coincidence, eh? (BTW -- it's the Harmony remote from Logitech -- an AWESOME product!)
    3) I recently went through heck to get some software running on my computer that requires a dreaded hardware dongle for security which uses the USB. It took MANY tries and good luck to get it to work... so I suspect it maybe screwed up my USB driver? BUT all my other USB stuff still work fine.
    Any suggestions?

You mean a clean install or system restore of Windows Vista?
Wow -- I hope it doesn't take something that extreme...
(And again: gawd I hate Windows!)
Any other suggestions of things to try/look at before resorting to that?
Also -- when I go to Device Manager, there are no issues at all in the USB controllers list -- and in fact my iPod isn't listed there at all. However, in the "Portable Devices" section , my iPod is listed there -- and the properties says that the driver is provided by Microsoft (not Apple) and is dated 6/21/2006 and is version 6.0.6001.18000

  • ITunes freezes when I plug my ipod in

This problem started when iTunes said it couldn't sync some of the songs to my ipod.  I think it said my ipod was corrupt or something like that so I tried to restore it.  It froze after the restore, so I unplugged the iPod.  It works when it's not plugged in, there's just nothing on it.  When I plug it into the computer iTunes freezes.  I tried doing reformatting it through Windows in disk mode, then it showed up in iTunes as corrupt.  I restored it and the same thing happened.  I don't know what to do; does anyone know anything about this?

If the above steps don't work, I went through a lot of trial and error to fix mine but found that this method worked great.
    1.  Press and hold select and menu to reset.
    2.  When the apple comes up, press select and play to put the iPod in disk mode.
    3.  Plug iPod in and make sure iTunes recognizes it.  It will still give you an error but ignore it.
    4.  Find out what the iPod drive name is.  Mine is G: so be careful what you put in because this will completely format any drive you type in.
Open up CMD from the run or start menu.  Type in:
    Format G: /FS:FAT32.
(Remember to replace G: with whatever drive your iPod is.)
Then hit enter. It may take a while.  This will start the iPod format.
    5.  When that is finished, you will get an error that says something like the drive is too big for FAT.  Ignore this.
    6.  Eject the iPod using iTunes and then press the select and menu button to reset the iPod back into normal mode.
    7.  Plug the iPod back in.  You will get a message on Windows saying that you need to format it again.  Ignore this.
    8.  Restore the iPod using iTunes.
This method will completely wipe the iPod and formats the entire thing to its original file format.  I have read that doing this can reduce the life of the iPod, but better than having a iPod paper weight.  This method made mine run like new again.  I found that using the Windows Format Utility doesn't work to well.  The CMD format seemed to do the trick.    Hope this helps.

  • ITunes freezes when I connect my iPad, what is causing this?

My iPad continuously boots me out of my apps when i try and use them, Someone suggested I clean it and refill it. My problem is that when I connect it to my PC to sync it with iTunes, my iTune software freezes. I can click on anything with no result. As soon as I disconnect the iPad the last command I gave it responds.
Here is what I tried already:
I ran a dianogtics test on iTunes while the iPad was disconnected and everything is fine.
I ran it with the iPad connected (I hit the test button seconds after I connected the iPad) and everything is still fine. it even stated that my iPad was connected.
I made sure my iTunes has the latest version.
I also checked the iPad for any updates and it stated it was up to date.
I made sure there was no apps running on the iPad hen I connected it.
I tested my PC for any problems and there was none, including my internet connection.
On the iTunes screen it shows my iPad connected, but, just like every other command, it will not respond when I click on it.
    Please someone help.

Is iTunes freezing on the iPad or on your computer?
Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
